- I was mid way through a 7 day all-liner back in 91...and turned up at waterloo on sat morning to take a nose at the 10.15 to Salisbury which was 50027 on the end and 33102 on the blocks..50027 was failed and 33102 took the 10.15 to Salisbury...
after departing waterloo on 33102 to Salisbury 33026 passed us light en route to work the 11.15 waterloo-Exeter..
anyway... ended up at Exeter having 33026 there after 33102 to Salisbury.
the mad thing was we got 3 33's back 33030,33114 & 33026 (dit) worked the 16.22 Exeter-Waterloo a few attempts were made at Exeter to multi up 026 with the other two but unfortalitly to no avail...
33114 worked solo back to Waterloo after dropping of 33026 & 33030 at Salisbury.
Amazing stuff, as usual! Watching this really makes me wish I was born a few years earlier. I was barely a month old when all this was filmed! 5* and favourited.
Those were the days! So glad you captured them - fantastic!
This video cannot be played loud enough! Brilliant footage.
LOL - Triple header and double header, even the sun used to shine then in the summer, oh halycon days...
My Lordzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! I remember the Cromptons on 'The Mule', happy days indeed :)
1st class! thank you for sharing. I likes my 33's :o)
WONDERFUL! Keep them coming.
Quality footage there from probably my favourite era before the units started taking over all the many loco hauled workings on the network. 10/10 and i've subbed!
My project for this Autumn/Winter is to convert my hours of video footage onto DVD and upload to My Channel - and there'll be some 33's, 47's, and 50's on Waterloo-Exeter from my visits down south, plus lots of other stuff from early 80's to late 90's.
Absolutely brilliant Warren, enjoyed that...5* Bob
fantastic video of the glory days!

Those were the days, wish I was on the triple headed 33 train, bet they sounded so nice.
Never saw them in BR action, too far up north. Unique sound these 33s have and great video action here. Wish i could go back in time....:-(
I love Class 33 & 50
i can remeber going past the triple header on the outskirts of exeter on the way in on i think 50027
The famous No. 62 to Salisbury....Rode many...!!! :)
Are class 33's low powered? I noticed three of them to pull a train.
Excellent Video!

Nice video, liked + subscribed
Why are three 33s needed to haul an ordinary length passenger train?
When i was a secondman at Reading myself and driver William "bill"williams took one of these engines to Abbergaveny on an SAS special
Aren't trains great?!
