proper locos I remember these on the Cardiff to portsmouth harbour services & Waterloo to Salisbury run spent many a happy hour watching these work horses at Eastleigh
Thats what happened at St. Davids. It may have said 15mph. at the bottom of the bank, but you got the road, had right away, and you got going. You didnt wait until the last set of wheels started the climb. Thats what has to happen these days of course, and thats how come perfectly capable steam locos appear to have so much difficulty with the climb.
I'm glad you liked the video. Only wish I'd been able to have shot more material, but living so far away from their final stamping grounds made it a bit difficult!

Interesting, 33s sound like a cross between a 25 and a 45. Remember when people smoked on trains...?
I certainly do remember it. It was horrid if there was no room in non-smoking parts of the train especially if your journey was a long one!
