Of course, you can always throw a pillow under your ass if need be, but the floor boards are an absolute game changer. Totally awesome for speeds in high rpms in top two gears as you aren’t fighting the wind resistance of your leg balancing on the clumsy feeling stock pegs. The loud free flowing pipes, performance intake, computer flash, mini windscreen, ez brackets, bags, decals, better tires, better brake pads, etc. are all great, but the floorboards are hands down the best mod, should come standard, and worth every penny (at least for the Scout 60).

Ride felt good, noticed less vibration on the feet at highway speeds and much more comfortable for long rides. I need to adjust the gear shifter side a little more so it's easier to get my foot under the lever and change gears
I'd like to see a short video example of how the new floorboard rotates through the 45-degree angle. In my mind, I feel that it will foul up when it takes an impact.
check time stamp at 9 minute 26 seconds of this video ruclips.net/video/V_bAJOQ2sfE/видео.html it shows how the boards fold up a little bit. If you drag the boards while riding it will definitely scuff up the edge and bottom of the boards. I don't really lean that hard so I haven't scraped them.
Yeah, I don't think anyone wants to scrape their pegs and the Vulcan foot position rides high anyway. I'm just concerned about the spring-loaded movement which you haven't shown in this video. In another video where you adjust the gear lever, you move the footboard to the rear hole position and I gather that was to help with the spring-loaded movement of the boards. It would just be nice to actually see how much movement the boards have if the boards are fixed in the front hole. This video has encouraged me to get the boards because there is so much crap out there that say they fit the Vulcan, but they always show the boards fitted to every other bike design other than the Vulcan 650. One size definitely does not fit all when it comes to the Vulcan
Yea I moved the mounting hole so it's more comfortable for my foot when resting and also to reach the shift lever. The boards really don't fold up that much at all, definitely not as much as stock. But I have had no problems with scraping. You will like the boards give them a try if they don't work out you can always return them from Amazon.
These are the adapters I used, seems they are out of stock on Amazon though. I'm sure you can find online somewhere Kuryakyn 8813 Splined Male Mount Peg Adapters for Front Footpegs and Floorboards: 1987-2018 Kawasaki Motorcycles, Chrome, 1 Pair a.co/d/5Y49wI9
Hi Kamdorian The link for the adapter says it will not fit the Vulcan 650s! I checked with Kuryakyn support and they said the same! Is it definitely part 8813?
It is definitely 8813, I have it installed on my bike right now and it works! The Amazon description says 2018 kawasaki motorcycles. It's strange that kuryakan says it won't fit. If it ends up not working you can always return it. It worked perfectly for my 2017 vulcan 650 and I even saw on vulcan forums that others have used it too.
What's the grip like in the rain? Been thinking about putting MX style pegs purely because of the terrible grip on the standard pegs in really wet conditions.
I have never ridden in the rain or wet conditions so I'm not sure about the grip but they are pretty good hard rubber feel so I assume it would be fine as long as you have good rubber boots on.
these would be great if the spline was lowering it an inch as its too hi to fit foot in the clutch, even if board is horizontal. lowering at all 1" would be such a difference along with brake pedal pressure points; kaw made the brake pad too low for a good pressure point
@@ed.t.hansen6499 you can adjust the height of the gear shifter foot lever. Check my other video on how to adjust the height so your foot will fit easily
What number adapters did you use? I checked the Amazon website, and it says that the adapters sold together with the boards do not fit the Vulcan 650S !
The boards don't come with adapters. Check the video description for the adapters I used, they are meant for all kawasaki bikes and work perfectly with the 650s.
Folding allows some more space when storing the bike. I personally never fold them up but it's just an option if people want to. Also if you are leaning too much and the board scrapes the ground it's better for it to fold up and not get stuck on the ground and potentially cause an accident.
Goood! Great video. Can you show us how it folds? It’s the whole point of the springy, right? I’m just curious on how good that works with this set 🖤 Thx a lot!!
@@Kamdorian Check the 650S setup, it is sporty and light. No cruiser quality at all. When you add floorboards from this type, the lever becomes much higher. Also a eventual heel shifter gives extra load and wear. Do some research, people add sidecases and the bolts break, people add boards and ... Just never stand on them, the bike is not designed for that and is no cruiser. Real floorboards are mounted at 2 points on the braket, in this case, you have just one bolt. A lot people call me a troll, but it is just reality. The 650S is a Ninja with forward controles. Same light setup, same sporty front. For example, that are no cruiser fork or handle bars, but the same setup as a light scooter. The bar ends are there for a reason. In combination with the high revving, you can expect problems after a time. I know that i don't react with "badass" "wow, awesome" or "looks sick", to much experience for that. Take care.
@@TurtlesTwoWheelers Most 650S owners are new riders and think that they own a solid cruiser because Kawa called the Ninja with forward controls a "Vulcan." Check the whole VN line since the beginning, and you will see that the 650S is no Vulcan, but just a attempt to keep the name alive, as environmental standards prohibit the sale of genuine Vulcans in many countries. Work on VN's and you will see what i mean. A 650S is a fast flimsy bike. Just compare the engine, handlebars,(just 22mm) mirrors, shifting and brake system, forks, rim and tire size, exhaust, sound, rpm's, weight, ... and you will see what i mean. Just like adding apes on a sportbike don't make it a chopper, just like moving the controls forward, don't make the 650S a cruiser. It is a good looking, fast and fun bike, but no cruiser.
@@corneilcorneil yea I don't plan on standing on the boards lol and I'm only 145lbs so doubt it would break if I did stand on it. I define cruiser as a bike with a comfortable riding position of mid-forward controls and higher bars so you are sitting in an upright position, not hunched over with feet behind the knees like on sport bikes. We can debate semantics of what to call the bike all day but in my book it's a cruiser with near sport bike performance so maybe we settle on agreeing that it's a blessing from the motorcycle gods!! Besides, I prefer to enjoy the bike rather than worry about what it's called or classified as.
So, I found out it depends on if your mini aftermarket floorboards came with a new “spring” doohickey that goes between the spline. If you use the OEM springy you go over the top just as you did! Hazzah! One tip for anyone looking to install the Kuryakyn “mini” floorboards… or any of their floorboards really. They require the Kuryakyn spline manufacturer part 8813. The 8813 is sold out EVERYWHERE! Trust me I tried every site and finally called the manufacturer who told me they were aware. It’s because of the lockdown in China.. they said new 8813 splines won’t be available until August. The 8826 which is claimed to work for Kawasaki is poop. The hole in the center isn’t big enough for the bolt, the size of it is too wide for the gap so you can try to hammer it in or shave off the metal. It’s a headache so don’t waste your money because there’s good news. Check out revzilla and make sure you have your Vulcan S EN650 listed as your bike so you can search for things that fit only that bike. When you search for splines there’s a set of PUIG splines EXACTLY like the Kuryakyn 8813. I just installed them on my 2021 vulcan S ABS no issue. According to the site they work for all Vulcan 650s made from 2015-2023. So thankful for PUIG right now as the OEM pegs were the only thing ruining my long rides (after getting a new seat). Thanks to this video the floorboard install took 30 mins or less! 🏍

How do you like the CS Racing exhaust setup?
I love the exhaust! It's a nice rumble and deeper sound without being too loud like the delkavic exhaust.
@@Kamdorian thanks for the feedback. That's what my research has led me to believe listening on phone and TV speakers. ;)
A tip...lightly squeeze the circlip before installing it. ....don't use a hammer either. Also squeeze it into the groove using pliers.
Good tips, I appreciate it!!
Great video, thanks for taking the time to do this. Can you tell me what the adaptor part # is ?
Thanks for watching! Here is the link for adapters amzn.to/42WIbVV
Where can i buy this Foot step board
On Amazon here is the link Kuryakyn 7613 Motorcycle Accessory: Kinetic Mini Board Floorboards without Adapters, Gloss Black, 1 Pair www.amazon.com/dp/B00XA9H6J6/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_WZFCPMTNNFT01SD4M7NZ. Also you will need the 8813 adapter also found on Amazon. Check the bottom or the video description for the links.
So how did the ride feel? Did you make any more minor adjustments?
Ride felt good, noticed less vibration on the feet at highway speeds and much more comfortable for long rides. I need to adjust the gear shifter side a little more so it's easier to get my foot under the lever and change gears
@@Kamdorian Or, you could adjust the gear selector itself, and leave your floor boards where they are most comfortable for you.
@@PaulsMotoZen Good idea! Yea I recently learned the level height can be changed so I will do that next!
@@Kamdorian I've got the set on my shopping cart. I try to avoid impulse buying - lol
Ive got the floorboards but im trying to find adapers for my vulcan s , what ones did you get?
These are the adapters I used, seems they are out of stock on Amazon though. I'm sure you can find online somewhere Kuryakyn 8813 Splined Male Mount Peg Adapters for Front Footpegs and Floorboards: 1987-2018 Kawasaki Motorcycles, Chrome, 1 Pair a.co/d/5Y49wI9
You can adjust the height of the shift lever by turning the shift rod one way or the other. You'd be surprised what a difference a few turns can make.
Ahh good to know thanks bud!
I just made another video on how to adjust the height. Thanks for the tip!
@@Kamdorian uou even can take the shift lever off and slide it back in a higher position without touching the rod adjustment.
@@corneilcorneil awesome will try that one day, thanks again!
Great vid but the whole left foot fitting under "the clutch" drove me nuts lol
Thanks yea drives me crazy when I rewatch the video as well 😂
Hi Kamdorian
The link for the adapter says it will not fit the Vulcan 650s!
It worked perfectly for my 2017 vulcan 650 and I even saw on vulcan forums that others have used it too.
awesome
Thanks!
Does any one know if these adaptors will fit 2021 model as they say only up to. 2018
I am pretty sure it will still work. The foot pegs and mounting of them on the Vulcan 650 has not changed.
Hi, did it work in the end please?..I'm thinking of now getting aset for my 2021 Vulcan S
What number adapters did you use? I checked the Amazon website, and it says that the adapters sold together with the boards do not fit the Vulcan 650S !
The boards don't come with adapters. Check the video description for the adapters I used, they are meant for all kawasaki bikes and work perfectly with the 650s.
@@Kamdorian the link for adapter not working anymore, do you remember model number for adapter?
@@konstantineantyukhin9827 try this link amzn.to/3Z9kKI6
why would you want your floorboard to fold up if your foot is always going to be on it?
Folding allows some more space when storing the bike. I personally never fold them up but it's just an option if people want to. Also if you are leaning too much and the board scrapes the ground it's better for it to fold up and not get stuck on the ground and potentially cause an accident.
Goood! Great video. Can you show us how it folds? It’s the whole point of the springy, right? I’m just curious on how good that works with this set 🖤
Thx a lot!!
Yes will show this in the next video!
@@Kamdorian thx 😁
The problem with replace boards on the peg mounts is that the boards are to much outwards. Huge lever and forces on just one mounting point.
Yea I see what you mean but it has worked fine so far and I see many vulcan owners have similar boards or even bigger ones.
Take care.
@@corneilcorneil I feel like most Vulcan S riders aren't too concerned about standing on their Floorboards, who knows maybe that's just me.
@@TurtlesTwoWheelers Most 650S owners are new riders and think that they own a solid cruiser because Kawa called the Ninja with forward controls a "Vulcan." Check the whole VN line since the beginning, and you will see that the 650S is no Vulcan, but just a
attempt to keep the name alive, as environmental standards prohibit the sale of genuine Vulcans in many countries.
I think the spring is supposed to go through the hole not over the top
Hmm I'll double check but it looks exactly how the spring looked when installed with stock foot pegs.

sorry I don't understand your comment.
Only problem.
Foot boards usually have a
Rocker gear lever.
So you can heel it in to 1st.
Yea you can easily add a heel shifter for that purpose.
Job done..
@@Mr75044 I have a couple questions. That rocker gear lever.... they make one for this bike. I just got my first bike, a 22 V ulcan S 650, so excuse my ignorance.. but if u stop say in 4th, it shifts to first with one press? Or multiple. I stopped quick once, in 4th... and it didn't want to shift while sitting still. I had to rock the bike a little to get it into 1st. Rookie mistake 🤷♂️
Next question... what shoe size do u have @kamdorian. U said u have the extended reach shift bar also.... you've hade these for a while now. What floor board hole position, and what shift bar did u end up going with. I'm sure you've made adjustments after the install. I have 9.5 US 👞 so I was thinking I should order the extended bar with this. If I chose not to use it, I have a spare if needed and board is adjustable... sooo.... just my idea. Any advise.
Call that a clutch one more time…

Appreciate informative mods procedural but...I believe it's pronounced "koor-ya-keen". You may be too young to remember the TV series "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." where one of the main protagonists (played by David McCallum) was named Illya Kuryakin.
