I might be wrong, but first of all, such an unusual type of light might not catch drivers' attention. Secondly, it might not be very visible in sunlight. You are correct, these turn signals are not as bright as the stock ones but I have had no issues with other drivers seeing me so far. You can also add other rear turn signals to add more visibility.
It depends on what comes with the universal rear light and plate mounting equipment. The stock Vulcan has a terrible metal extended fender underneath the stock tail light assembly that has to be removed before mounting any aftermarket parts. Once removed you are left with 3 holes in the rear fender that can be used to mount any taillight as long as it's the right spacing for the holes on the mounting equipment. The taillight I used is made for the Vulcan 650 so it fit perfectly. There's some other options out there that fit perfect as well. Which light are you trying to use?

It takes some trial and error of placing fender on lining up the light then remove fender and slightly tighten the light then place fender back on to confirm alignment. I did that a few times. Tighten the bolts under the light first so then you only use the adjustment screws to move the light front back left or right. The adjustment screws are on the top of the light. See time point 11:45 of the video. Good luck!
I don't have a specific relay from chrome glow. I have the kawasaki relay already installed because I have the 12v charger port which requires the relay. Is it possible to make the fender more go down? I mean make it closer to the wheel
Only way to do this is to lower the height of the bike with different suspension. You can also adjust tightness of existing suspension so when you are sitting on the bike it goes lower.
thank you feor the response! It's always my goal to purchase kawasaki vulcan!@@Kamdorian
You can purchase a Savage Rear lowering kit for this bike. It lowers the rear 1.5 inches.
Hey kam love that look , can you add the link for the sissy bar, and thank u bro.
Thanks man here's the link. Good luck and ride safe! amzn.to/3WBzdOk
Thanks the eliminator is out of stock great video 👍💯
Greetings,
What front fender ornament do you have on?
It is a deer whistle, you can find it on Amazon. It prevents deers from running on the road in front of you.
Did you have to wire in the license plate light as well? My bike came with this fender but the LED's over the plate don't seem to be working
Yes the power wire for the plate light is black with white stripe check 13:16 timepoint in the video. It's called "tag light". It has a ground wire and the power wire for the license plate light. If the light is not working either the led is dead or the wiring was done wrong. Only way to know is to remove the rear fender and check. Beginning of my video shows how to remove the fender. Good luck!
@@Kamdorian Thank you
@@Kamdorian Well the weather finally got up to 30 here in Upstate. So got out in the garage today. Took the fender off, found the tag lights not wired or grounded. Thanks for the info. Got the light working so I shouldn't get my balls busted come inspection time
@@joekatchmar5235 ha that will do it! Glad you found the problem and were able to fix it. I'm done with this winter, can't wait for spring to start the bikes and ride.
The clip you broke is easily avoided if you push in the center button first. They're called plastic rivets
Yea I know..the clip on mine was already half broken so it fully broke with little force
Great video, I will probably look into it once I sell my current bike and pick up a Vulcan. But side note I hate posi taps with a passion. They can fail, vibrate loose, or get an intermittent connection. Just solder connection,. It seems intimidating but it's really not
Thanks man. Yea I would prefer soldering too and I'm sure it's easy I just don't have the soldering equipment. My positaps are working fine so far, fingers crossed they don't fail soon!
@@Kamdorian no they do last for awhile and depending on where you are you might be safe. I live in the northwest so corrosion and water are huge things.
Also if you want a cheap solder on Amazon is like $20 and risen core solder is like $5. But again you may be perfectly safe. If you do decide to switch your first few times it will work fine but probably look ugly while you learn lol. So just make sure it's in a hidden area🤣
@@TechAndMotorcycles haha thanks for the info I'll check it out...always wanted to learn soldering.
So just to confirm. If i order the taillight and the relay from Amazon.
Do i need anything else to else to give the bike shop to connect?
If you are using a bike shop for the install then they might be able to do a fancier electrical connection job. Otherwise they can use posi taps for the connections like I do in my video. Positaps link is here amzn.to/3K9WNuA
@@Kamdorian thanks will take a look. Did you ever move your plate to the side mount like you mentioned. I'm hesitant about laws and ahold cops writing tickets in GA for vertical plates.
@@buy_da_dip8174 I have not moved to the side yet, I have the same hesitation! I met other riders in my state that have the plate on the side and they haven't had any trouble so I guess it's fine! Will add it to the last of things left to change on the bike..

Do you have a video on how to install your new exhaust pipe?
I do not but here is a video from a friend on how to install. ruclips.net/video/uv9kY2dc9Vw/видео.html it's pretty easy.
I can read you got the relay kit installed from Kawasaki. How come your blinkers goes too fast then? It's only hasard light that's normal speed. And cool video, it's a nice help. :)
Yea I am not sure why the blinkers are still going fast, I have to check it out. I appreciate the feedback, glad you enjoyed the video!
@@Kamdorian And nice car too, same as mine in same color. :)
@@z1v4 thanks, I love blue everything haha and of course black!
You need to install the flash relay under the left side of the gas tank.
I hope the led were a little bigger for people from the rear to really see at daytime
Yea would be cool if it was a double or triple row of LEDs, so far haven't had issues with people seeing me but of course more brightness is always better
How did you make the yellow lights not pulse so fast and have a lower speed?
@@rickytsuha4020 get a flash relay from Amazon amzn.to/4fxmALm
@@Kamdorian where on the motorcycle does it connect?

No relay switch needed?
I believe a relay is needed, my bike came with one because the previous owner installed the power outlet.
💯 need a relay. It installs under the fuel tank. Plugs right into the bike.
Buenas!! Necesito saber si este producto tiene el marcado de homologación europeo. Gracias jeje
Hi sorry I don't know if it does have the approval mark. Most likely it doesn't but you can ask the vendor from Amazon to confirm
Keep fenders on for sure
very nice video!
Thank you!
Hey dude, did you have to add any type of load equalizer, or replacement flasher relay? I went on the chrome glow website and they recommend it to maintain stock flash rate. Or is that just a cash grab. LOL
It's true you do need a relay to prevent hyper flash. I didn't install a relay yet and I do have hyper flash. You can find cheaper options on Amazon for like $10-20.
@@Kamdorian Appreciate it. So does your rear blinker flash too fast? Or does your hyper flash (what is that?) fix that issue?
@@jolsen76 yup hyperflash means it's blinking too fast. My rear signals and front turn signals all blink too fast (I also changed out my front turn signals and headlight so that's also messing with the flash speed LOL). I definitely need a flash relay asap.

If the led strip was an inch thicker it’d be nice.. no visibility
Yea I might get one of those rear facing led lights that go on the helmet and signal when braking.
Just picked up the SteelMate led helmet brake light on Amazon Thing is mint for the price!
I have the same one and it's highly visible much more than the OEM. Real life vs video. Super bright at night.
Easy breezy!👍
Yes, very easy just takes some patience and trial/error to get the light aligned to the rear fender lip. This one was fun!
My break light stays on the entire time. What can be the problem?
Check your wiring, sounds like you connected the running light wire from the bike to the brake light wire on the new taillight. Switch the wiring so the brake light from bike is connected to brake light from taillight.

This bike always looked like it needed a bigger rear wheel.
Totally agree!! When my tires need to be changed I'll definitely be increasing the rear size.
I have a 185 Pitelli GT and can go bigger.
Just be sure you are still street legal for your state. Must be visible from 150ft and in inclement weather. Safety trumps looks
I agree safety first. My state doesn't require inspection for motorcycles.
Visible from more than that.
This bike looks better with the fender, it looks weird without it because the tyre is too skinny.
@@australienski6687 can always get a bigger rear tire!
@@Kamdorianthere's a limit will never be as fat as a Harley
Like the look, but lights aren’t strong enough to be seen clearly in the daylight. Becomes a safety issue, IMHO
You may be right! Knock on wood I have had no issues so far.
I bought a used Vulcan S that has this exact led taillight. TBH the visibility is my biggest concern with the light. I am going to be replacing it with an R&G tail tidy product since I don't have the OEM parts or the OEM fender. The R&G lights are bigger than this strip yet still smaller than the stock lights. I came here to see how this part was wired. Hopefully I won't have much of an issue swapping it out, but the posi-taps make me nervous, but I assume I can just electrical tape them up after removal.
@@Mark-ji7ek yea the R&G will give more visibility but I like the low profile look of the chrome glow better. There is a video on RUclips on how to install the R&G, it seems like some wire splicing is needed but yea the positaps are worth a shot! Good luck and ride safe!!

Is a led relay required for connection?
Not required but does help with reducing hyper flash in the turn signals. Amazon sells the relay for very cheap

I like the low profile new fender especially because it shows more rear tire.

All that work to hide his license plate and the paper flaps up LMAO
Can you mount the plate on the side
No this kit doesn't come with a mount for the side. You would have to get a different plate mount for that. If you find one let me know!
@@Kamdorian google it. Plenty of examples. I think it’s a sharper look personally
Yes you can mount the plate on the side. You have to make sure the mount comes w a plate light and has to be 12" off of the ground to be legal in some states. You would then also cut off the plate holder bracket on the Tail Tidy to make a cleaner look.
