@@Kamdorian believe it or not, I just finished my install last week. Ended up figuring it out. Let's just say positaps are a man's best friend haha thx for the video, keep up the good work!
Sorry I don't have a video at night. I tried recording it once but my camera is not great for night recording. I can tell you that the new headlight is much brighter at night it basically lights up the entire road with wide angle ahead of you so you will have no issues with visibility. The beam spreads the entire width of a 2 lane road.
Yes it's exposed, water could get onto cables, but I don't ride in rain and I do hand wash without spraying entire bike. You can tuck the wires in a little bit but best would be to get a small windshield or cover to fill the gap.
Must be a wiring issue. Try to disconnect and reconnect. Or you may have a faulty unit. The brake light should not be impacted by this, unless you have too much electrical load and something shorted out. Is there other electrical accessories on your bike? You may need to install a led light relay.
No cutting and stripping required. I just used the positap in the wire and left the connector unused. Posi-tap Connectors, 12-18 Gauge... www.amazon.com/dp/B00389RUEO?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Hello by the way, does the electrical system support the change from the halogen headlamp to a led headlamp well? Will it not cause problems in the future in battery or circuit?
Yes it can support it. I believe the led headlamp doesn't use much extra voltage and the circuit and battery can handle it. I have had it installed to a while now and no issues.
any time you add anything electrical to the vulcan S including the OEM accessories you are supposed to add Kawasaki's relay kit that you can get for about $25

Hey check my other install videos for headlight turn signal integration and led turn signal install. It sounds like you might have mixed some wires up. If the turn signal light is staying on that means you might have connected the turn signal wires from headlight and turn signal to the day time running light wire on the bike. Anyone have any experience putting on a windscreen w this headlight mod? Wondering which one I can install bc idk if the Vulcan a specific ones will fit
The Vulcan windscreen won't work because it attacks to the forks. There are other windscreens out there that attach to the top of the fork itself that could work. Just can't have any windscreen that attaches to the lower part of the forks where the brackets for the headlight go.
@@Kamdorian thanks for the reply and the vids. I gave the puig windscreen a try and was actually able to make it work. Just at a steeper angle since it can’t be upright, so now the wind hits my neck. There are some other versions of it on eBay and Amazon but not sure how good they are. Keep an eye on the sktyants store on Amazon it tends to come back in stock often.
I don't use a windscreen. If you have windscreen that mounts inside fork holes then it will work. Otherwise you need a windscreen that has small mounts that fit on remaining space on forks. Or get smaller mounts for the headlight so windscreen mounts still fit.
@@blinkybill4062 oh ok got it, no I didn't put it back on. My bike came with the windscreen mounts already installed so I had to remove them first before putting the led mounts on. The Kawasaki quick connect windscreen mounts require use of the entire fork so there is no room for them with these headlight mounts in place.

The original headlight is what grabbed my attention on the vulcan the first time I seen it, it's more modern and unique than the ugly one you put on it. You can get an LED set that sits inside the original casing
Yea I wasn't a fan of the heart shaped stock headlight I like the round one better and it's much brighter than stock. Probably brighter than just swapping to led bulb in stock too.
Not gonna lie that looks horrible especially the side view. It doesn't gel with the front end at all. Great video though you did amazing walking g someone through the process that is looking to do it.
Thanks yea side view is not the greatest. There's a mini visor type cowl that I'm gonna get to close the gap between speedometer and headlight. Others have also mounted the headlight higher so that gap is smaller.
Why would you disconnect your battery? Just leave the contact off. You have to adjust the braket so it has the same diameter as the fork. Use a rag before you "bite" and damage your brakets. Niceupload, but clearly a beginner wrencher.
Yup I only disconnected the negative contact on the battery, didn't fully disconnect entire battery. These brackets are universal for many fork sizes so you won't get a perfect diameter that matches the forks. The brackets also have adjustment notches for different size forks but regardless they will never be a perfect fit. It's holding on tight enough with how I did it, nothing loose after many miles. Good point I should have used a rag before biting to avoid the minor scratches but they are luckily barely noticeable so no big deal. Hey we all gotta start wrenching at some point this just a side hobby for me only got into this game few years ago 😎 thanks for the tips!
@@Kamdorian Most sets come with rubber fillers to put between the fork and clamps, so the diameter match better and prevent the brakets from slipping/moving.

Very happy w it bc the wind flows much smoother off my neck and lower helmet than right on my chest. Highly recommend the tinted one, very clean look
@@dadadeyaa that's awesome man glad it worked out for you! Send me a link to the windscreen you got maybe I'll consider getting it too
@@Kamdorian I’d send you a pic w it installed on my bike but idk how lol. The install would take 5 mins w the stock light but w this light it took me about 20 bc had to screw in the screws one twist at a time
@@dadadeyaa make a video of the windscreen and post it on your channel!
Do you have a link to where I can buy this please
amzn.to/43FE6pD
I bought posi taps and they don’t connect to the smaller wires..
What is the issue? Is the needle on the positap too big for the small wires? What are the small wires for?
The headlight is no longer for sale. Is there another way to purchase one? Or another light that is similar/better?
There are some other versions of it on eBay and Amazon but not sure how good they are. Keep an eye on the sktyants store on Amazon it tends to come back in stock often.
@@Kamdorian Thanks man! Will do
@@coryCuc sure np, good luck and ride safe!
Another good modifi should be a lateral speed meter... 😉
What does that mod do?
hi what brand headlight please
SKTYANTS 7" 7 Inch led Headlights... www.amazon.com/dp/B078MVXJBL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I think the stock light looks better, BUT i consider changing it when i buy a vilcan, the lighting is terrible
Yea you can just change the stock bulb to be brighter
Another weird things about vulcan 650 are BIG BULKY SEAT, REAR FENDER and EXHAUST.
Yea I changed the exhaust and the rear fender too! Check my other videos. Alot of people get new custom seats but they are so expensive
How did you put on the wind screen after you did the headlight on?
I don't use a windscreen. If you have windscreen that mounts inside fork holes then it will work. Otherwise you need a windscreen that has small mounts that fit on remaining space on forks. Or get smaller mounts for the headlight so windscreen mounts still fit.
@@Kamdorian It is just at the 6:10 minute mark you comment about the windscreen and I was wondering if you put it back on afterwards
@@Kamdorian I am going to see if I can get he local trades people to make me something so I can have both on the bike. A pity the K doesn't make it easy to have both and the light bar I have as well
I would like to be more bigger size of rear tire
@@othanertv2152 I would too! When my tire needs to be changed I will put a bigger rear tire. The stock frame can handle a bigger tire. Some people even modify the frame to put very large rear tire.
So can you not mount a windscreen now?
You can if the windscreen attaches to the top of the forks only. Or if the brackets for the windscreen are low profile and fit in remaining space on forks near the headlight brackets.
I’ve been eager the change my Vulcan headlight, but I don’t want to lose my cafe windshield to do it.
Decisions, decisions.
It might still look fine if you change headlight and keep the cafe windshield. I have the cafe shield I can place it on to see how it looks.
@@Kamdorian I think the round headlight/cafe windshield combo would look good, but the brackets that hold the windshield (the brackets you took off the bike that left the residue) won’t fit when the headlight brackets are installed. …unless it can be modded somehow to work with both. It’s tempting to try. Thanks for the detailed video.
@@ThatMailMan that is correct you will need new brackets since forks are occupied with headlight brackets. Glad the video is helpful!
would love to see how bright this is at night
It is very bright at night much better than stock. I tried recording a video once but the quality of the video was not worth posting due to the darkness. I guess I need a better camera for night recording 😂
@@Kamdorian if its already brighter than stock, ill take your word for it! Thanks man!!!
@@tsukemonomitch5679 yessir much brighter. Check the Amazon link in video description to buy it. Ride safe!
@@Kamdorian You too!
Just replaced stock bulbs for led, still poor visibility, gonna replace light
Yes you need entire new headlight. The one I got is super bright at night can see entire road for long distance.
Hey Man I need a link

Plug and play from who ??
Made by SKTYANTS I got mine on Amazon but it's out of stock now. You can find same one on eBay or Alibaba. Comes from China I think.
I prefer the headlight from aliexpress very simple to install
Which headlight is that?
Not gonna lie that looks horrible especially the side view. It doesn't gel with the front end at all. Great video though you did amazing walking g someone through the process that is looking to do it.
Thanks yea side view is not the greatest. There's a mini visor type cowl that I'm gonna get to close the gap between speedometer and headlight. Others have also mounted the headlight higher so that gap is smaller.
my bolts under the headlight were on tight as fuck. I ended up stripping one of them...even using wd40 didn't help
Wow that sucks man, did you eventually get it off? They use some nasty loctite on some of the bolts it's infuriating
@@Kamdorian nah not yet. Thinking I'm gonna have to borrow a power drill with bolt extractor bits.
@@jamestkirkcameron9189 try heat gun and wd40 on the bolts to melt the loctite. Worked when removing the tail light assembly.
@@Kamdorian I'll give it a try, thanks
Bad design on new bracket
I agree!
@@corneilcorneil yea that would be nice, unfortunately these didn't come with it but can easily add your own rubber inserts. I also have the brackets mounted at lowest position so no where for them to slide.
@@Kamdorian A old inner tire can do the job
Stock light- terrible even if new 2021
Yea I don't like stock headlight either.
the original looks much better than this all the wire shows in the back looks so bad
Yea I might move the head light up more so it blocks the wires one day, for now I dont mind it.
Dude cool video but you talk about nonsense for way too long. Cut the chitchat and you’ll b good dude
