Breakdown refers to the separation/disintegration of the stromal tissue between the glands that is the support for the tissue. In normal menstruation that is what happens, but in some cases other factors, hormonally or otherwise, the stroma may come apart and result in bleeding.
In the utherus, isn't the neoplasia rather difuse to be called stromal nodule? It seems to be discontinous in certain areas, with distint foci, one of them very discreet, indeed, although little in size. Besides, near the whole wall of the utherus is affected by the tumor.
The lesion was a single defined mass, mostly polypoid so I think the term nodule is appropriate but the outcome is beyond what one might expect with that term.

What does benign endometrium with Stromal breakdown mean ?
That is often the sign that menses have begun and the endometrium will soon slough off to begin a new cycle.
