Yesterday, I received my first pair of White's Boots. I ordered a pair of Millwood, Hybrid Wedge, Brown Distress Leather, with a Black outsole. They arrived exactly as I ordered them and they were stunningly beautiful! Even better, they felt tremendous on my feet right-out-of-the box! So what if they take 1,2, or 3 months to arrive, that ONLY means that they are being made with exact instruction & care as the buyer ordered. Be patient, because when you get your White's Boots in the mail, You are going to be tremendously pleased and crazy proud that you now own perhaps the greatest American Made Boot! Stop thinking about it, Go Out and Buy Yourself a pair of White's Boots, You will NOT be disappointed!
I’ve had the original Perry for about 18 months. The brown leather has aged and patinaed magnificently. I’m sure the Doubleshot is great, but not sure it would look any better than my boots do now. I wear custom orthotics, so the leather shank wouldn’t do much for me. I’ve had no problems at all with the cardboard counter, which is sandwiched between thick thunks of leather anyway. The new Perry Select looks great, but the “problems” it fixed aren’t really problems, IMHO.
I love watching this channel, i learn a lot. For instance, Whites company. WOW, they gave the whole crew their boots. That alone tells me that company is serious about their product and take pride in their work. That makes me want to go get a pair now. Way to go Whites! its nice to know you are seeing reviews and making adjustments. Im sold! Thanks Rose Anvil for the update and keep it going, i think companies need to know that people care about what they buy.
I just ordered these in British Tan, my sizing was between the D&EE, so Whites recommended I send in a tracing and measurements of my feet. They are going to send me try on pair in the size they recommended. Customer service it excellent!
Ordered my Perry Select's the second they dropped! I got the Tobacco Stampede because I couldn't take my eyes off how beautiful that color was! As far as MITUSA goes, I'd move it to 1 because the Double Shot leather is better then the JK'S. I have a pair of JK 300 and love them but I am just a sucker for a killer Moc Toe.
I have the second iteration of the regular Perry's with the vibram sole and they're fantastic. My only gripe was the insole. I took it out and bought some 7oz veg tan and made my own leather insoles and now they feel like a true heritage boot.
@@NogGonnaMakeIt not at all. I've been wearing them 8hr/day 4-5 days a week for over a year and the counters are in the same condition as when I bought them.
If you're thinking of getting a pair, I've done everything from spike camp backcountry trail work to landscaping to factory work on a concrete floor in them, done 12 mile days in the mountains in them with a 40 lb pack and a chainsaw, etc. Used one, and only one, pair to the end of their lifespan. I also served two seasons of trail crew in a pair of White's, so I can compare and contrast. I second your suggestion, I would LOVE to see them cut in half. Preferably the 2233, the most iconic.
I'm with you brother. Definitely worth it. I'm working really hard to not just order a pair when I really don't need to do that right now. I don't think I'm going to be able to resist the temptation. Great video as always. I really appreciate your channel.
White select definitely looks like #1 to me. Better shank and WAY prettier tongue than the JKs, better sole attachment. Easily worth 30$ to me but only 11 dollars extra. Beautiful and tempting! Btw, any thunderdome update on your Aldens? Are they still intact?
It's now my favorite Moc Toe. My Danner's Bull Run where my favorites. Still in good shape after 3 plus years of wear. I am getting them resoled. But the Perry's are working out just fine. Perfect for my job as a truck driver. I am ordering a pair of 6 inch Perry's in Tobacco Stampede as well. I use my Thursdays for weekends only. You are right about them for not being a true work boot..Thanks for another good video. I guess I am your most Moc Toe enthusiasts out here...
Thanks for all your info on these bad mofos. Just got them because of you and your homies review of them and the interview you did with the Seidels. Oh yeah, this vid too. Thanks for doing what you do man

I finally got me the Perry Select in Tobacco Stampede. I can't describe how great, oily and supple this leather is. I think it's going to be a patina monster. The Perrys are surprisingly comfortable right out of the box. I only have one hot spot on my left foot in the instep area. I love these boots. Thanks for the video. Keep them coming. I love your vid on the C350s. I have some Millwoods and they seem quite similar, but with a Cristy sole instead of the 2021. Anyways, great vid.
I have the regular perry's. That counter is stupid and made me wish I went with something else. Now that they broke in, they are fine and I enjoy wearing them.
I have a pair of Perrys and a pair of Millwoods from White's that I use for work as a carpenter. I've loved both, but I wish they had some sort of toe stiffener and a lining leather that wasn't black. Through the time owning the perry's, the toe box has collapsed and began suffocating my toes. The Millwoods have yet to feel suffocating, but both styles leave my feet with jet black and brown dye marks after long days in unforgiving conditions (especially in the Tennessee humidity).
I've got the 6" in British tan. I love them. Comfortable, albeit heavy. Gorgeous. Even more so as they patina and break-in. I've got a few pairs of really good boots, and these are among my most worn. If I ever wear these out (I doubt I will, honestly) I would absolutely get them again. Probably. Those Red Wings, tho...😊
I absolutely love this. Congrats to Whites for putting out something every guy can wear thats made in America... Now id like to see a goretex lined version....
I'm sure you know, the main issue with the Red Wings in the break-in. It's a rough week but after the leather finally gives, I would argue that the Red Wing 875 is the best bang for buck MITUSA Moc Toe. At $290, the Perry Select is hard to justify for the $100 difference. You could make an argument for the normal Perry. Love the videos, I am hype-fixating on them at the moment so it's nice to have something to fill that.
I'm inclined to agree with you. I love my 875s, I've had them for over a year and they are way better than my iron rangers. Would love to try these perry selects though as they seem to be better construction and material wise than the 875 but for that 400$ i might have to save haha.
I've had my Perry's for 4 months or so and honestly I can't wear any of my other shoes anymore. I was going to get a pair of 300s to bounce between buuuuuuuut, I love my Perry's so maybe an upgrade is in order. I wear them for work in a factory. Not super dirty but hard on my feet use.
The cardboard counter destroyed my heels until it broke in. It was blister city. But after about two weeks, they were perfect. Curious to try the upgraded version though.
Same here. The counter in my regular Perry’s definitely gave me a big blister. I’ve only had the selects for a day and I don’t think they are nearly as firm as the synthetic counter. Felt much better so far atleast
The biggest thing holding me back from getting these (or other similar moc toes) is that I just don't like the white wedge sole. If they put this on the different colored versions of the Vibram 2060 sole (like on the Rambler) I'd definitely be throwing down some money. Those burgundy ones look really good.
Isn't it hilarious how a company "listens" to what people want, yet this dumb boot is not offered with different color vibram soles which we know exist, and no safety toe option. Also you mentioned the rambler, they don't offer roughout option for these boots either, which is superior for work. When you look at the leather choices, you know they will get sliced up like crazy. All 4 of these major boot brands refuse to give people what they want, and if they do - it will take 4-7 months to build it and cost $700+.
@@mad0uche sorry I don't agree with you. JK customs boots, about roughly 8-12 weeks give or take, whatever options you want, around $600. Pretty much solves your problem I think
Just received my pair and I love them. I have wore red wings 877 for years but never like the little arch support and thinner leather. Whites Perry fixed all that and the select is an even better choice but the one complaint I would still have is that the tongue isn’t gusseted higher up. That is one thing red wing has done better in my opinion especially if using for work in the northwest like where I’m from in Seattle and water is always a concern.
Carolina’s US constructed moc toe uses tobacco stampede leather. Looks great. It’s a little too soft for me in a work environment. I’m a cabinetmaker and also do remodeling. My White’s 350 Cruiser in cinnamon waxed flesh have held up better in every way other than the squeak in the midsole that started after 1 year of abuse.
if you get the original perry on the yearly sale, you are looking at a 260.00 pair of boots, if they don't match the discount with the selects, than the original is the clear winner, just buy them at the right time of year. My Perry's are great, but I still prefer my Chippewa Edge Walkers. PLEASE REVIEW THE "Edge Walker", I would love to know how they stack up with the competition because they feel awesome on the foot.
I can tell you already these are going to be highly desirable. I'm an IBEW Wiremen and I see more and more 8" Perry's giving the Goods a hard run. Once Thorogood prices went up the quality hasn't improved with it.
I remember buying whites smokejumpers for $250 back in 2005. I was 17 years old had just graduated and used all my graduation money to buy a set to head to the oil fi’ with. I had worn. Hawthorne boots through high school.
Now that I have both, the Perry Selects and JK 300’s, the Whites are, IMO, far superior for the price point. The biggest tipping point is the premium leather, better internal components in the Whites vs the Jk 300’s. And frankly, they’re just better made, have a higher QC than the 300’s at that price point. The stitching, attention to detail on the Whites is phenomenal, again for the price point. And I have 6 or 7 pairs of higher end, heavy duty, premium JK’s in various styles that you would have to pry off my cold dead feet! 😳 I only wish Whites offered more aggressive Vibram outsole option on the Perry Selects! FWIW, the Whites run bigger than the Red Wings Moc toes and have a wider toe box, are more roomy. You can drop down a 1/2 -1 full size from the Red Wings Moc toes with the Whites.
The small ankle struggle is real. I have a pair of B-Width made-in-USA Red Wing Supersole 2.0s, but the ankles are made for fat-footed people. Once they stretched just a tiny bit, I can't lace them tightly enough any more.
Perhaps purchase an orthotic. Especially one with a deep heel cup so it’ll hold your heel in place better. I use Super Feet Carbon Fiber Low Arch ones.
I’m surprised nobody is complaining about the toe cap! It is collapsing like it’s made out of cardboard!! No structure whatsoever! I have two pairs of these boots and on both of them the entire front end of the boot it’s way too soft! I have red wings, Thorogood, and Carolina boots, and none of them have this problem. I’m curious to see if anyone else has this problem.
I have a White's Fulton Moc Toe with the same type of leather that's in the Perry. I believe the insole might be synthetic though. It's a good boot. But I'm really excited about the Stampede Leather. I love my Red Wing 875s but the White's Moc Toes tend to fit me much better. The Red Wing's last is just too narrow for my foot. The Stampede Leather is really close to that good ol Moc Toe color too. And IMO White's makes a superior boot to Red Wing. I do still love Red Wing and I always will. For the money you can't beat em. But I also have two pairs of 350 Cruisers (one for work and one for casual wear). And honestly it's probably the most comfortable boot I've ever owned. Love my Nicks Robert Boots and they are superior quality to the 350 Cruisers. But I find the 350 Cruisers more comfortable for sure. I really want a pair of Perry Select Moc Toes in Stampede though. Thanks for the video.
I love the look of this boot. I just wish they would offer it in a steel or composite hard toe. Hopefully they will do that in future Perry boots. Rose Anvil I love your videos! Keep they coming!
I have a pair of Travelers on the way so White’s won't be getting my business in the near future. But I just wanted to chime in and say Seidel is where Nicks gets their work leathers. So don't be afraid to take the selects to work. Though if I were to get a wedge sole from White’s I would get the Journeyman or Foreman. The Perry is nice but it kind of erks me that they don't offer rebuilds on any of their goodyear boots. It's no secret they are going after Red Wings with these. But I don't see any upside to going with White’s over Red Wing at this price point.
I went to redwing to get the 8inch classic Moc. Did my foot profile on their machine. Foot too narrow. I needed an 11 in a B width. So. I tried to get the 10877 8inch Moc since they said they offered a B width. Well it turns out they aren’t making the 8inch in a B width. No way I could’ve worn a regular D because it swallowed my foot whole. So I emailed redwing. Been 2 weeks now and still haven’t gotten a response. I was gonna see if they would make me an 11 in a B width. It does say they offer it on their website. I haven’t gotten a response. So I emailed White’s. They responded in less than 2 hours. Sent me everything I needed to get all the measurements of my foot and said they would be MORE THAN HAPPY to make me a custom pair of boots based off my measurements. That’s customer service if you asked me. I’ll never look redwings way again. And it’s weird because in Thorogood I can wear the D width no problem. They almost too narrow. Almost. I don’t get these boots lol. They’re all so different. But can’t say enough good things about Whites. They’re number 1 in my book. I really like my Thorogoods. I have 2 pairs of their 8inch Mocs, but I wanted one of the higher end pairs. Redwing let me down so I’m going with whites.
Nice video as always 😃👍 Would it be possible to show us your boot collection and maybe rank them like Carl Murwaski did? You should've a great collection 😊
Suggested Episode Topic: Boot soles. Seems like almost 100% of boots either have some type Vibram brand soles or some proprietary sole that they make themselves and the makers go out of their way to say why it's better than Vibram. I've never seen so many companies use vibram: from low end boots all the way up to the most expensive. They seem to have a monopoly almost.
Ordered mine, for work in a nuclear power plant. Coming from the Thorogoods so excited to see the differences. Would have gone for the JK if they offered a moc toe as I definitely prefer stitchdown, also the shipping costs for JK is astronomical compared to Whites ($40 vs $12) This significantly adds to the overall cost of the JK But aesthetically this boot looks so much better than the JK300, quality and construction JK nudges ahead, but not by much .
@@neil_b4_zod with the value component added Thorogoods still win. However Perry Select is more comfortable and sturdy but with a much longer break in . Took quite a while to break in compared to Thorogoods.
I think Weston is wrong when he says the Red Wing 875 is uncomfortable or is not a good work boot. For me it is the perfect work boot for landscaping. No boot in my 57 years has performed better.
I hope they upgraded the Vibram sole. I've only worn my original Perry's maybe a total of 80-90 work days (9 hours average each days), so maybe a total of 800 hours since I have had them and the soles are worn smooth. I walk an average of 5 miles a day, so maybe just 450-500 miles total. I am cautious even spending money to get them resoled if they don't last. I have another pair of Whites and one pair of Franks with small lug Vibram soles and they are miles improvement for wearability.
I think the Perry select is more for the money compared to the JKs for the $100+ dollar difference. I may have to get a pair of the Select so I can use my Perrys for work. They're too nice at this point but that nice leather may supplant the standard Perry.
I'm doing research for my first pair of high quality leather boots and your channel has been a godsend. Very painful watching you slice up the boots though.
I just got my burgundy double shot perry selects. The color is beautiful, put some LP on and it made it slightly darker but even better looking. Only minor inconvenience is the heel is a bit rough at first, and i had to add a nicks leather insole underneath the stock insole because i guessed half a size too big. But man these boots are quality, closest comparison i have is to thorogoods and danners and its not even close. I will say the danners are more comfy but they are almost a tennis shoe
Bedos Leatherworks has several vidoes that explain the types of welds and which ones are best for what. You have to watch him fix a pair of boots to get the info but its quite fun..

MPS scale stands for My Personal Subjective scale. Idk if anyone's tried guessing yet but that's what I'm going with
Whites Boot 6” Perry is Awsome. No breakin time foe me. I Purchased mine June 2023.
I absolutely love my Thorogoods. These also look really nice.
if you get the original perry on the yearly sale, you are looking at a 260.00 pair of boots, if they don't match the discount with the selects, than the original is the clear winner, just buy them at the right time of year.
Agreed

White’s sent me an email preview of these a couple weeks back. For the price point, I think these might be the best moc toe boots on the market.
Cut apart some Allen Edmonds boots! Also made in USA under 400 during annual sale.
I remember buying whites smokejumpers for $250 back in 2005. I was 17 years old had just graduated and used all my graduation money to buy a set to head to the oil fi’ with. I had worn. Hawthorne boots through high school.
I wish they had a safety toe option, it would be a killer option for my partner with a cdl
Stay tuned...
I like the quick cameo by the c350 cs. It was like showing the roided-out, more handsome older brother for a second.
Love the video! Kept me informed and entertained!
My whites Perry are going 2 years strong with heavy use. About to resole them. Easily have at least another year or two
Now that I have both, the Perry Selects and JK 300’s, the Whites are, IMO, far superior for the price point.
Great video! These will go on my list..And, I love your wallets!
The small ankle struggle is real. I have a pair of B-Width made-in-USA Red Wing Supersole 2.0s, but the ankles are made for fat-footed people. Once they stretched just a tiny bit, I can't lace them tightly enough any more.
Any remedy. I think I'm in the same boat
If you work on you knees alot I would say don't get mock toe. The stitches on the mock toe wear out really fast.
Love your videos man, wish you'd review the Idrese nuno, they claim they're 4 times as resilient to creasing as other luxury shoes.
Love your video's, just a shame White's boots are not available in Europe. Shipping them is against a pretty hefty plus charge.
Love my Perry 6”
Just got my Perry Select's....break in started, but to new to really know anything besides I think they're great looking boot!
Good video Weston. Can you please cut in half a viberg 2030, Truman boot and something high end like Clinch boots, white kloud or john lofgreen?
I wish they do same for Millwood, I like plain toe better 🎃
I’d love to see the red wing 606 cut in half some day
I love the look of this boot. I just wish they would offer it in a steel or composite hard toe. Hopefully they will do that in future Perry boots.
Rose Anvil I love your videos! Keep they coming!
Stay tuned....
@@WhitesBoots1853 if you make the Perry select 8 inch with a steel or composite toe…..you will have a customer for life! Thanks!
Shame they can't build a decent website though, might get a pair when they sort it out.
Love my perry boots
Like always.... thank u for ur videos, they have really helped me out and taught me so much that now I feel like a boot pro lol.
I definitely think this beats the JK.JK is cheaper which is a plus, but I didn't think price was being considered...
I love living in Spokane! I drive right by Nick's several times a week.....
You forgot to mention these select boots come with leather laces another small upgrade
Thanks a lot I can see the difference . Looks good to me.
Nice video as always 😃👍
Would it be possible to show us your boot collection and maybe rank them like Carl Murwaski did? You should've a great collection 😊
I vote Whites Perry Select. I own them and the zero lead/wait time is huge.
I would love a video on the perry hybrids
I’d like to have these for riding my motorcycle. $400 is a lot for boots but these look really cool and I imagine they are comfy as well
Definitely read the title as White people's favorite moc toe just got upgraded
Suggested Episode Topic: Boot soles. Seems like almost 100% of boots either have some type Vibram brand soles or some proprietary sole that they make themselves and the makers go out of their way to say why it's better than Vibram. I've never seen so many companies use vibram: from low end boots all the way up to the most expensive. They seem to have a monopoly almost.
😂 "what would Weston wear?" I'm definitely using that. I would wear the premium as well.
Ordered mine, for work in a nuclear power plant.
Coming from the Thorogoods so excited to see the differences.
Would have gone for the JK if they offered a moc toe as I definitely prefer stitchdown, also the shipping costs for JK is astronomical compared to Whites ($40 vs $12)
This significantly adds to the overall cost of the JK
But aesthetically this boot looks so much better than the JK300, quality and construction JK nudges ahead, but not by much .
Just curious for your update. How did it go? Thorogoods have always been comfy and Ill be honest I value comfort as my number one priority for boots.
@@neil_b4_zod with the value component added Thorogoods still win.
However Perry Select is more comfortable and sturdy but with a much longer break in .
Took quite a while to break in compared to Thorogoods.
I do like that 8" and have always wanted
a pair of 877's.
Russel marcinsons mac toe boots are a must in the channel !
You're going to make consider these selects. I had to return my perry's because the popping noise from the shank was downright embarrassing.
Great-looking boots. Fair price. USA made. Win/win/win.
they need to make the perry's taller and with steel toes
