Received my Tobacco Stampede today and they are pure perfection! I have the original Perry's and out of the box the Select's are more comfortable. The leather shank creates instant support and is not as flat as the originals, and having the leather heel counter is a big plus!
Yea that cardboard counter is terrible. I got the millwoods a year ago. They got wet a few times and their kinda done now. I went ahead and paid the big bucks for the c350 ramblers and their way way better
Video mark 1:07 - "Leather scraps". They are not discarded, rather they are shipped to a factory where they are ground up and processed into "bonded leather". It is then used to manufacture various items such as "RV furniture" where it holds up for only a few short years.
Amazing content, I just bought a pair of Perry’s moc toe boots not too long ago and I can’t say enough good things about those top notch quality boots.
Some sweet craftsmanship going on there, only thing I disliked is they’re using that cheap cork filler when a nice piece of Oakes tan leather would be better.. other than that another fine piece from whites 👍👍👍
I really enjoy my Perry Moc toe boots. They fit great and took only a week to break in. I hate using them for work, cause they are too nice to use like that, worth the price. Going to get them in Black next. I have the Brown distress leather. By the way, you guys should Tweet more, last one was 3 yrs ago.....

Yeah, it’s interesting how many think their $80 boots are comparable because their machine or in some cases artificial stitches are perfectly straight.
It looks like the nails that hold in the shank go right through the leather insole. I saw a video where the removable foot bed was taken out and there were rust spots on it from those three nails. How does the leather mold to your foot if those nails go so deep. It seems like you can’t wear them without the ortholite insole. I thought that was the whole point of the thick leather insole?
Can confirm. I just got my Perry’s and nails go through insole. I guess they figure most will use with foam insole it comes with. I like molding my feet to leather insoles so I’m debating if I’ll sink into the nails or if I should just get a veg tan leather insole to put in there.
Hi Aurthor - thank you for taking the time to reach out. We have responded to your original comment, also following up here. The Perry Selects are built with shank nails, however, it is uncommon to see or feel them. If this is the occurrence, please contact our Customer Service department to send them in. We'd be happy to grind the nails down for you. Customer service can be contacted by calling 800-541-3786 or emailing service@whitesboots.com. Thank you.
Most customers are a half size down from their natural shoe size, however, we always recommend following our fitting guide to be sure. This helps us get your exact length and width. Instructions can be found here on our website: whitesboots.com/fitting/ If you have any questions during the process, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Orders Department. They can be contacted by calling 1-800-541-3786 or emailing orders@whitesboots.com.
It's the "traditional" method for a moctoe from what I understand. There's really not a big difference between having a separate apron (the part that gets stitched together to make the moctoe) and having a one-piece vamp though.
@@WhitesBoots1853 I wanted redwings. I asked them if they would make me a pair since they said they offered the width I needed but aren’t making them right now…..The never responded. Contacted you guys. Y’all emailed me back within 2 hours. I’ll never look at redwing again.
@@MikeH-ig5eb I emailed them, they made me an account. I printed off their measurment sheet off their website and I measured every part of my foot they asked to measure. Sent it in, and they make a pair custom to your measurements. I got a pair of 8 inch Perry selects. Custom to me. You gotta take 5-6 measurements. Maybe more it’s been a while since I did it. But their measurements sheet is right there on their website. Then I sent all that back into them.
Yeah you’re right. Mine are the second ones I believe with the viberg sole not the whites brand. Can’t wait to see if I can tell a different with that or the leather counter.
We currently do not offer the Perry with a steel toe, but hoping to release a version in the near-future. In the meantime, be sure to checkout our Journeyman and Foreman models, which do have the option to come with a steel toe. Although it appears that way, the nails do not puncture. These are called "clinching nails", sometimes also referred to as shoe tacks. At the 10:38 mark, you'll see a steel-bottomed last being placed inside the boot. The point of the nails are tapered, so every time it's hammered and hitting the steel last, the point will actually clinch back into the leather. The 16:28 mark then shows the last being removed from the boot.
@@WhitesBoots1853just got my Perry’s and the nails do puncture all the way through the insole. I can see/feel the nails close to the insole surface. How can my foot mold to this? Won’t my foot sink into the nails eventually?

If someone wants a pair of Perry Hybrid distressed/black 11d let me know. They’ve been worn maybe a handful of times at most and aren’t even broken in yet.
This is one of the best videos I've ever watched. Amazing craftmanship, and the machinery is fascinating
Thank you, James!
I never wanted this to end. So calming, so fascinating, so engaging. I see a pair of White’s 8" Perry Select in Tobacco Stampede in my future.
Amazing, so much done by hand. Cant wait to own a pair someday
Appreciate that! Give us a shout when you're ready.

Kudos to the Men and Women who craft your boots :)
I wear Carolina amp usa 8” moc toe boots for work. One day I’ll buy a pair of Perry’s for church on sundays 👍🏾.
Takes some confidence to use a torch like that. Well done.
I've had my Perry's for two years now. They are super comfortable.
Much respect for the craftsmanship and the lead time! Thank you. 😊
Thank you!
Led Zep in the background - these guys have taste!
I heard some GnR, Appetite for Destruction.

Already ordered my pair , can't wait .

Pretty damn well built. They should definitely be proud of this construction.

Here because of Rose Anvil😎
Great video! I see a lot of different machinery to speed up the process. Haven’t seen those machines in other videos.
Thanks for watching!
You're right? Like that machine that feeds the gemming, or the other that punches in multiple eyelets at a time!

You don't think the leather would cause squeaking?
If you want the leather instead of cork then you gotta pay for it. These are their cheaper boot that’s why their using cork.
@@Jez166 you never seen the real boots get made? Any good top of the line work boot has oak tanned leather as the insole, midsole

I need a moc toe boot for my rotation; was looking at Grant Stone but the Perry Select's on now on my list.
Very impressive!
Handcrafted boots is very worth to buy it one.
British tan inbound!!
Awesome moc toe. Your technique is different from you competitors and you machinery newer. Thanks.
White’s leather is thick!! (but not stiff)
Amazing. Wondering if Fulton model is made the same way?
10:24 it's was gun n roses - welcome to the jungle
You should put “ASMR” in the title or tag it or something. This would probably blow up.
Just bought a pair last week they only had three options now they have six lol danm should of waited 😂
How do these fit? I have some whites with the 55 last in 8.5D. What size would you recommend for these?
Same size
Been waiting for this one. My Perry's are about 6 months old and I love them more and more every time I wear them.
Love my pair !
So this video is for the people who say " my stitching is a bit crooked!" Get over it it's hand made ! Hahhaha
Yeah, it’s interesting how many think their $80 boots are comparable because their machine or in some cases artificial stitches are perfectly straight.
For 500 bucks the stitches should be dam straight
Why wouldnt they cement the Shank to the cork filling? Wouldnt the access space in between the two cause squeeking eventually?
Mine clicked but went away eventually
Is it true Santa wears whites boots?

Why 2 peices of leather for the mock toe?
It's the "traditional" method for a moctoe from what I understand. There's really not a big difference between having a separate apron (the part that gets stitched together to make the moctoe) and having a one-piece vamp though.
I just sent my measurements in for a pair of custom 8inch Perry selects.

Can we please get a "rough out" option in the perry select or in any of the Moc-toe boots?
Redwing has one but they do not offer it in EE withs :(

I thought the uppers were stitched in Dominican Republic or somewhere overseas?
I heard the same thing. Part of the stitching is not shown. Maybe that’s the part they outsource.
I read a comment that the uppers come stitched from the Dominican Republic, maybe for the non-Select Perrys? True or hooey?
I would definitely love to hear a response to this.

its great these workers are listening to led zepplin while making the boots i wear while working and listening to led zepplin

Why did y'all decide to go with a leather shank instead of steel in these? The Perry's with the vibram Christy have steel, correct?
I believe all of the higher end pnw boots all use a leather shank
@@garysprague2009 some of them do but the 2nd iteration of Perry's definitely have a steel shank.

Vibram sole not viberg sorry.
A leather shank will shape to your foot with the rest of the boot, judt helps with comfort
here thursday boots it aint that hard to stitch a god damn straight line for once,as proven in this video

How much of a difference does the leather shank make compared to the composite shank of the regular Perry?
A leather shank not only provides longevity, but also comfort as the leather forms to your foot.
Won’t those 3 big nails holding the shank eat into your foot without the removable ortholite insole?
Although it appears that way, the nails do not puncture. These are called "clinching nails", sometimes also referred to as shoe tacks. So these Goodyear welted boots ARENT made overseas and then just finished here?
Whites makes everything they sell in Spokane. Redwing does that overseas stuff, although their heritage line is still made in Michigan.

It's a Goodyear welted boot. That's how they are made. The stitch down and hand swen are much different.
