      @@kato2395 They said it was for comfort reasons. That some people complained about feeling the stitches on the insole. But I have a few older pairs with the blake stitch and I don't ever feel the stitches. I think, to be honest, that they did away with the blake stitch because that one less machine that they will need to maintain and one less step to worry about in the building process.

      We have cork infused soles. It’s available under The Alden package on our website. The 700 and 430’s are also available in cork in brown. Black with cork is scheduled for production by Vibram also. Hopefully it will be available soon. To answer your question about durability between 430 and 700. They are the same material, so it is just a matter of tread pattern preference.

    *I can see why people don't like new boots torn down. I don't hate it at all lol 😅 lol! However, there are people out there who do that in order to have them more customized. It's so that they fit much more comfortably for their feet. Also, they may not like the sole that's on them, but they do like the uppers. So they'll have a different sole put on them. There's many more reasons why people customize their boots. I know not everyone is into that, but please do be aware that people will do it. The shop does it because it's what the customer wants. But hey, they do put the boots back together, and their results are always amazing and professional! Be happy that the boots aren't being thrown away in a landfill lol 🤣🤣! It's great people want to customize their boots to fit their needs. Completely valid and fine! It's their money, and their property after all 😊!*
    *Also, in terms of a video, it's a good learning experience for many people. Whether that may be someone learning to be a cobbler, someone trying to figure out what they want/need for their boots, or just someone simply watching their videos.*
    *It can help people better decide what they want in their boots for a future purchase, no matter what brand that may be. You get to see why the boots cost a certain amount of money. You also see why boots are built a certain way as well. So it's extremely useful in that regard!*

      Yes, you can feel where you want it to be less flimsy after wearing for a while. Will have to see about getting those rebuilt likely long before they are anywhere near worn out and possibly before they even need a resole!!

      @Highland_Paddy 4 месяца назад

      Then I guess they will be stiff on the bottom and likely not have the half mid slip deal, but by then the vamp bits will have flexed in a bit and I don't know that this is really as much an issue anyway. I think it's the honey outsole vs. the black rubber ones that make them more comfy on pavement from the get-go?

      In extreme wear circumference, the second row does help hold the soles on better. It’s not just for looks or just to make our job more difficult. For casual wear, it’s simply for looks and does make our job more difficult. But, that’s just part of the job we do.

      A slip sole is a half sole midsole. The JK had a full length rubber midsole and, a half slip sole in the back half of the boots. The praise was for the bond created between the rubber midsole and the outsole.

    • @cloveroak5492
      @cloveroak5492 4 месяца назад

      @@WyattDadCobblerCompany a slip-sole is not a "half sole midsole".
      A slip-sole is a full length piece of rubber between the midsole and the half sole. That JK is using 2 things improperly and/or partially to create a flimsy situation. First, they use a lineman shank as a partial midsole. Sure the material for a lineman shank and the material for a midsole are the same, & the thickness (Irons) are the same, but that doesn't make a lineman shank a midsole.
      Then they are using a slip-sole as a midsole, and it just isn't.
      Ask one of the other PNW builders building MTO's to make you a boot without a full length midsole, and they won't. Rephrase it and ask them to make you a boot using a slip-sole as a midsole and they won't. It'd be building a spineless boot. I give JK points for thinking outside the box, but that is a wimpy boot any PNW boot builder should be ashamed to offer. The fact that anyone is buying them is mind boggling. If you want light duty there are plenty of choices out there that are better all around.
