It's super gross that folks expect women to still look like their 17 year old self as an adult. Thinking that looking like a literal child is the peak sex appeal and beauty is extremely disturbing.

The part with Yolanda and the cake genuinely made me want to cry :( Gigi's mom should be encouraging her daughter to celebrate and live life, not restrict herself during a special moment. And the way Yolanda kept making her own piece smaller and smaller and taking off the frosting...it's so clear what a toxic and honestly sick mentality she has for her daughter and herself. I'm so glad that it seems like Gigi was able to come out from that relatively unscathed

I can see why Bella would have felt the need to get so much face work done. Like, how did the mother treat her? I can imagine their mother treating Bella like she wasn't as gorgeous as Gigi. I've never watched that show, so I don't know, but considering how bad she was with Gigi, she was likely bad with Bella.

Thank you for saying that you can't compare 17 year old Gigi to adult woman Gigi. Like you said, women aren't supposed to look 17 forever! I've had people close to me try and do the same thing. I was size 0 when I was a teenager. I'm now in my early 30s and I'm about a size 8. Guess what? I'm gorgeous, happy and confident, according to ME. Yes, I have some more pounds than when I was 18. I also have more confidence, boundaries, higher standards, a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, a career and nothing to prove. I'm not interested in looking like I'm 18. I'm interested in living my life as the woman I've become.

Beauty is a marker of reproductive fitness. Teens are always praised by society cause they are the most fertile. The goal of a species is to propagate itself and flourish. So yeah women can't look 17 forever, but evolution is not gonna delete fertility awareness from our brains either. Those instincts exist for functional existential reasons.

And you don't even realize it when you're 18, then everyday after 19 we spend our whole life's hating ourselves wishing we were still in that one year and could've enjoyed it while it lasted but spent that whole short time feeling insecure even anyways. Like for real tho, I wanted Botox and filler at 19 years old,I thought I was too old at 19...

Of course she can't change the industry her own, we are the one who can possibly change, and in the future, things might change too. So it all came down to, if all those women who were insecure about her/their bodies and can't see a way to accept it and live a miserable life and the toxic cycle keeps going, then NOTHING can be changed.

But what I see on Apps like Instagram or TikTok is the opposite of Stephanie’s refreshing positivity and just and endless perpetuation of unrealistic body goals. What I do have a problem with is excusing the influence of people like the Hadids and Kardashians for that matter. They had a horrible mother but they do have the means to change things and still try to sell us on their ridiculous glow ups. I think you can understand their struggles but still hold them accountable. If we keep calling them beautiful nothing will change. They would be if they weren’t so hypocritical about the surgeries they had and they time and money that goes into looking like that.

I’d like to precise that Gigi didn’t voluntarily lose weight due to the pressure but she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease which made her lose and gain weight multiple times during her career, and people basically shamed her for looking ‘ too thin ‘ and she replied that it’s not a choice that she had made, she’s trying to gain weight and that it’s due to circumstances. I think that it’s very sad that she has to explain to people every time what’s going on with her body since it’s not their business and I really respect her for staying natural and not giving in to the pressure from the industry and the public. Furthermore, unlike most celebrities she didn’t make me feel bad about my body a single time. ❤️ I love her so much.

I appreciate these videos so much. I’m 32 and basically my entire teen & adult life thus far I have completely picked my body apart. I grew up when “heroin chic” was in and now as an adult when “slim thick” is in. I’m currently pregnant with my first child and have looked back at pictures when I was in my mid-late 20s and in the best shape of my life. When I look back at these pictures I think, “oh my god. I looked SO good”. Whats so, so sad is during that time I still would look in the mirror and completely pick myself apart. I would find anything to be disappointed in. I would compare myself to fitness influencers and feel defeated. I had what I’d probably consider my dream stomach and legs, but at the time I’d look at them and find something, anything wrong with them. After getting older and having some life changing experiences that have helped me realize what’s most important, I feel it’s easier for me to look at my body and be proud. I’m growing a little human which I feel extremely fortunate to be able to do. My body has survived some pretty scary things. I still am critical, but every time I see one of your videos I feel so much more confident and it makes me think “f*** that. I’m not going to talk to myself like that again”. Yes hashimoto’s disease makes you gain weight naturally but you have to be very selective with your food choices to tame the side effects of this disease which makes you lose weight in return.

Great video! I think in the beginning, Gigi had untreated Hashimoto's and once she got treatment she lost weight. Pregnancy/breastfeeding obviously cause hormonal changes and that can change things with any thyroid disorder. Could be she's just currently in a different place with her Hashimoto's. Or, like you said, maybe she's just too busy being a beautiful mommy to prioritize societal beauty standards. Awesome content 💕💕💕

OMG, I love the pics of Gigi with a pushchair and happily getting on with the most important role of her life - being a mother!
I do wonder if she (or any other child prodigy) will be as consumed with diet/looks/the "industry", as her own mother was with her? I like to imagine that she will be the complete opposite and will encourage her child's personal dreams.
My goodness, I've been enjoying this series so much, I honestly don't want it to ever end! You've done a remarkable job of shining a huge light on the lies of IG and the modelling world. THANK YOU.
    Love ya guts 😉💗💗💗💗

I admit that I prefer Gigi when she was on the thicker side but
    1) she can't really do anything about it because of her mum and her alleged disease
    2) it's not our business, we're not the ones paying her

My problem with the Hadid's sisters is that they act as if they are naturally this thin. I used to follow them on Instagram and they both post their foods on their stories .Big Burgers, pizzas, fried food, cakes and pastries. I am in my mid forties and know this can’t be true yet it caused me to hate my body for not being like them even though I eat much less. So imagine how young girls are affected by this!

Thank you. When I started doing cosplay and photo shoots by myself for fun during the first stay at home months, I realized how much “goddess “ ness as you so perfectly put, was to do with creating the image with light, art direction (I like to think lol), correct for medium-makeup, and being open to trying poses or expressions to yourself. It made the models and ads so much less incomprehensible. Less fulfilling in a way, which is disappointing, but kind of cool, because a beauty look or prettiness can come down to self expression, and how you do that w accessories costuming etc. Looks really are that mutable and context-driven, which is different than how I learned!

Can you please do a video on normal aging? I am in my 30s and I feel like all celeb women in their 30s still look like 18-21! No fine lines or smile lines etc

please don't take this the wrong way but I personally dont know any woman in there early 30s with obvious aging I'm 35 my sister is 36 and 37 and don't have these lines yet. 30s are still ridiculously young so I don't think it's that common to see obvious wrinkles on a 30 something. I've only ever seen this in people men and women that have a poor lifestyle and poor genetics. most of my friends are in there 30s and still look mid to late 20s which is the norm.

People in their 30s are young. In fact their are a lot of people in their 20s that look older than their age. Genetics mostly affects ur appearance.

Years ago, in a discussion with a friend, he said "believe me, if a man is lucky enough to have a woman, naked, in the flesh, he does not see flaws, he sees only what he desires and the beauty of it". This stuck, and whenever I started feeling dissatisfied with that extra 10 lbs or that cellulite here or there , I would remember..words are powerful, and when I watched Yolanda on that show I truly wanted to slap the hell out of her, the inference that a fit, toned body says "lesbian" is so incredibly ignorant, not to mention the other toxic shit she was bleating. No wonder Bella had her entire face reconstructed, and in the end the words she heard as a kid are the same ones she hears now, in that place where our insecurities lurk
