- we usually focus on glow UPS on this channel, but in today's video were discussing the 'glow down' of Gigi Hadid. has Gigi had a glow down? I suppose that depends on what your definition of a glow down is. In my opinion, Gigi doesn't actually owe anyone 'pretty' or 'glam' and she likely just puts more of her time into her daughter than she does trying to maintain the beauty standards. she is beautiful, and i love that she seems to be so down to earth and REAL when the celebrity world can come across as so fake and pretentious.

Well it’s hard to be sexy when you have hormonal imbalance, be in Postpartum period when you actually bleeding and everything is hurting, and you sleep only for max 4hours for few years (when you have baby and when child teeth comes out)

I don't think people realize, too, that Hashimoto's disease causes puffiness in the face. It is an autoimmune condition that's attacking your thyroid, and your thyroid is ESSENTIAL for hormone regulation. As your thyroid is under attack by your own body, you get fluid retention and inflammation in the face. This can be especially apparent during pregnancy or puberty, and during flair ups of the disease. This expansion of the face is often called Hashimoto's "moon face" and it really sucks to have to go through. My mother has Hashimoto's and she would go through different periods of her life where her face would get more or less puffy depending on how well controlled the disease was. So if you see women walking around with what looks like moon face, it often isn't just excess facial fat, but they may have a poorly controlled autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and weight gain. Be kind to these people... They're sick, and autoimmune conditions are still often under-diagnosed or under-treated. Having a chronic health condition is not easy.

I have Hashimotos disease and honestly some days I have a double chin and some days I don't, it makes me feel so self conscious. Also my weight really fluctuates and some days I am exhausted and my body aches among a variety of other symptoms. I find that hard enough to deal with as a nobody nevermind being in the spotlight like Gigi and being scrutinized for your appearance.
Thanks my face went from super chisled (to the point that people used to vibrantly compliment me) to an absolute puffy mess after hashimotos. And yes I’ve noticed that it gets better but can can get really bad again depending on how under control my disease is. Has never gone back to my normal face though
i was about to comment about her thyroid issue! hyperthyroid definitely causes weight loss i had it at 13 and went from 150 down to 76 pounds within a month or so, with so many other symptoms from enlarged neck to shakiness, fast heart beat insomnia and never getting full funny enough. after radiation unfortunately it switched to hypothyroidism which is just as horrible in its own way, with weight gain to the puffy face and soooooo many more symptoms, i wish more people talked about it cause it’s affects you so so much!!
Yeah, it also got meanchened in the video that she got Hashimotos under control but that can take years and it always changes depending on lifestyle and different stages in your life so you never have it totaly under control when you first have this problem. Like my mum has had it since she was in her twenties and thirty years later she still has to regulate it, and have bad periods where the numbers of hormones are of. When you have it, it is something you live with and should be aware of continuing forward.
It feels like Gigi doesn't care for perfection because she's the rebel in her family especially towards her mom when it comes to looks. her teeth isn't perfectly straight, she doesn't look like she had any plastic surgeries, she probably wants to raise her daughter to be happy with being herself when she's older and to be be an example she needs to do the same for herself as well. I'm proud of her!

Unfortunately Gigi revealed Khai's face publically against Zayn's wishes. It was HIM who wanted their daughter to have a normal life and Yolanda wanted that baby to bring in more money and fame. That's what caused their split in the first place, and Gigi sided with her toxic mother and broke their home over it.

Im usually not a fan of models because I think they contribute to the beauty standard just as much as they are a victim of it,, but I've really grown to like Gigi. She seems so authentic and true to herself. It's rare to see a celebrity, especially a model, be so comfortable with themself these days. Props to her!

To me, Gigi’s chubby face is sooo very nourishing and cute, it’s so angelic, just because she doesn’t have sharp features like other women, doesn’t mean she is not beautiful or fat, if we care about society’s standards of beauty, we will never live in peace, and nobody is ever going to like you no matter how much effort you put in.
I also think Gigi's youthful looks are due to her less angular face, and as long as she doesn't surgically change it, she'll look young alot longer than her sister, who had the fat under her cheekbones removed. It's this fat that represents a youthful look.

Bella has gone in the opposite direction, embracing a complete and drastic change in order to be what she thought her mother wanted, so she could receive the same approval Gigi got. Both girls have been emotionally abused by their monstrous mum.

I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.
I can attest, it does cause weight gain. In my particular case, my weight kept going up, even though I was in a calorie deficit daily, consuming only about 1,250 calories per day, and also doing cardio.
I also found out I'm Type 2 Diabetic, and am now on a strict diet to lose weight and control my blood sugar.
Gigi and Bella are gorgeous! Even if people think someone isn't, none of us have the right to criticize others. We should concentrate on improving ourselves! 🙂💕💯💯

I find it so disturbing that women choose to mock the appearance of other women. I know very little about her besides the fact that she's a model and a young mother but I am quite impressed that she is embracing her natural appearance. What's wrong with that? She looks perfectly good. The earlier photos that you compared her against were all photoshopped. Not to mention, let's not forget how long it sometimes take to recover from childbirth physically and hormonally? Not every woman is able to bounce back within 3 months of delivering a child. For many women, it takes years to reverse their excess hair loss, lose weight, get their hormones in order, find medication that works for postpartum depression not to mention, deal with multiple skin and other health issues caused by and during pregnancy and childbirth. If you can't uplift another woman, don't mock and shame her either. People mock female celebrities for injecting botox in their faces and looking unnatural while also mocking them for ageing naturally. They're insecure in their own lives and feel better by putting down women who are famous for their appearance to feel better about themselves. Whether a woman chooses to age naturally or not is none of our business and we should try to be kinder to everyone instead of nitpicking on people's personal appearance and decisions in life.

Well, I want a glow down like Gigi then, because she looks damn good to me! My heart just breaks for Gigi, because even with the half-a-almond-when-you-are-hungry-diet, she was just a little curvier than the other models, what looked so good on her! I remember that she began to lose a lot of weight around the time when she had that video of doing coke leak, so maybe that is connected. She was always pushed very much by her mother and I think she could barely get a break. So I think that her pregnancy was the first time in years when she could take a break and have a 'real' reason to put her career on hold for a while. I think she still is working because she obviously has to support her family, but when I saw her 'what in my bag video', it was very realistic and very clear that it is very important for her to be a mom and to be with her daughter. Also she is venturing in other things with by example her new clothingline. I think she cares about her face and body because it is her job, but not a lot besides that.
I just don't get why people are talking about her jaw-line and her beautiful round face though, while half of the people in Hollywood try to get that look with fillers.

I also have Hashimoto's and lost a lot of weight, but you are right, ussually people with this condition gain weight. For me, I was as thin as Gigi. I was very sick and had no appetite at all, being my all time thinnest under 99lbs. I also lost all of my muscle mass from atrophy as I was in bed for 2 years. Not sure if this the case for Gigi, but it's a possibility.

How lucky Gigi is 😜 I have underactive thyroid and from 173cm/56kg I put on 40 kg in 1 year. I used to be so confident. It’s been very scary and it take time until it was uncovered. I also have heart failure, so doctors thought I’m full of fluid (I wasn’t). After all this doctors find out I have Brugada syndrome (rare heart condition) and month later find out having Lymphoma cancer and it’s spread unfortunately. I’m not sure, how long I have to live, I’m not asking. I don’t care I’m fat, it’s not my fault. Never laugh at overweight people, because you don’t know, what’s wrong with them. Try to be polite to everyone, if they are too to you. 😊 It can happen to anybody.

I've been researching Kibbe body types and Gigi Hadid is often used as an example for a flamboyant natural. Flamboyant naturals tend to gain weight in the face. I also think I'm one and when I gain even a little weight, it tends to show up in my face despite people not really being able to tell that my body has also gained.

I'm a mom of 3 and I have a lot less time to dedicate to my appearance because I'm with my kids 24/7 and they couldn't care less if my face is beat lol I really only wear makeup on the rare date nights with my husband. @Unsa some of those types will hug and kiss you only for something in return. My grandmother is that person. My cousin is currently at the ER, deteriorating from terminal stomach cancer. My aunt has been in and out of the hospital for months being worn thin. She's in her 60s and can't take disability to take off from work from already being on it previously recently. FMLA isn't paid. Do you think my grandmother gives a shit? NOPE, literally as soon as my aunt came back from the hospital, my grandmothers munchousen (sp) syndrome started up & my aunt is now back in a different ER dealing with the BS. I've already told my aunt my grandmother needs to be put in a nursing home or put on a strong sedative to contain her personality disorders - she has at least 3, but of course, my aunt is so traumatized that she unwittingly enables it all. It's so messed up.

I went to Malibu High with G & B. Their mom pushed both into modeling due to her connections & their dad was renown for flamboyant parties & young girlfriends. They where both insecure, esp Bella after Gigi got on SI magazine (her dad knows the editor). Gigi career took off. Bella had a bunch of surgeries after, I don’t recognise her now! She got a nose job at 14, then later had brow lift and cheekbones done with Dr.Ourian (rumours from the hills lol). She went high fashion, as Gigi was the girl next door, wholesome look. Makes sense. But you don’t understand how TOXIC the hills are, competitive family clans, pressure to succeed to be famous, etc. Every other Malibu mom uses her kids like a birkin bag to show off. Like, look at my daughter- I bought her a career. Influence and power is what those people are all about, living in their own ego bubbles and echo chambers.

I believe you. I worked in the entertainment industry on the business side but in the thick of things. Nepotism is big there as it it is in lots of other industries. But Hollywood is insulated in that way. It makes it harder for outsiders to get in. I left around the time the reality tv and social media craze started to wreck havoc on the traditional entertainment industry.
Gigi looks like she had work done. In her cheeks and lips. But nevertheless I don't think she's a beautiful woman. She is average or normal looking. She's not like a Naomi Campbell or Heidi Klum who were born beautiful and got their foot in door through actual hard work.

I've heard people well-versed in plastic surgery say that Gigi and Rihanna are 2 of the very very very few amount of celebs who have had "absolutely nothing" done to their faces... no tweaks, no injections, no surgeries. It gives perspective. She may not be living up to the Hollywood beauty standards but see her walking down the street and she's undoubtedly a stunner. The criticism is so strange. Motherhood can change your looks temporarily or permanently. Aging happens to everyone. She's beautiful in my opinion. I find her realness refreshing esp. because she's not going out of her way to "be real"

My face shape is really similar to her‘s and hearing other people saying she‘s ugly or has jowls isn‘t exactly doing wonders for for my confidence. Mean comments like these don‘t only affect the people they’re directed at, but could also be hurting other people with similar features. Our concept of beauty has become so warped and disgusting.
Don’t listen to those comments. I think round faces are beautiful and always give a youthful look. That’s why most people mistook Gigi for the younger Sibling. I found her faceshape always to be very beautiful! It’s just that the hollow look is for whatever reason popular (in the western world!!)

Gigi looks great and honestly, I'm so tired of seeing every celebrity have that "Instagram face." When you see the pictures of what all the other models looked like before, it's clear they've all had a LOT of surgery and procedures. Pregnancy and motherhood change your body and sometimes, your face. Good for her for doing what she wants to do. SAME! I have a 3.5yo and a 5mo and the sleep deprivation is REAL. I wake up 5-10 times a night, when the kids are sick I’m surviving on 3 hours of sleep.. Who looks their best after just becoming a mom?! First the pregnancy, then birth, hormones all over the place, adjusting to the HUGE change in your life, sleepless nights etc.. it makes you feel 5 years older in one year!

I like Gigi. I feel sad for her that she had to grow up with such a nasty mother. I think she was always pretty and still is. It's ridiculous that people make fun of women's round faces when I think it's the cutest feature that gives them a youthful and innocent look. As much as I am plastic surgery positive, shaving and reshaping someone's jawline to give it a certain angle is the most ridiculous excuse for surgery. And every celebrity that has done it looks like an old hag now.

In a world where so many girls strive to look identical - I think it's beautiful that Gigi embraces her natural unique features. Her cheeks are still beautiful & make her look youthful & adorable. But as a woman in my 30s, these are just the normal changes. And it isn't ugly - we live. We go in the sun. We smile. We cover it up when we're young because we don't appreciate what these marks and changes represent.

Love how you said "she doesn't owe anyone pretty". When I was 15 with a relatively clear complexion as a teenager, my older sister said "why don't you sort your face out, because we have to look at it". Absolutely evil. She gave me such a complex I developed spots and acne. Resulting in pigmentation and some scarring. Years later a boyfriend told me that she must be jealous. I didn't even realise that. Fact is she was and still is.

That would b me I always wanted a sharp jaw but I never changed my looks I haven’t got Botox in 3 years and sometimes I feel so old looking and not up to the beauty standard but I still try to look my best without fillers or Botox it’s hard but some days I I do feel beautiful usually when I’m at my home

It really is. There's another clip of Gigi talking to her mom and she tells Gigi to only eat like one almond or something when she says she's hungry. It's extremely upsetting to think of how bad it probably was off camera.

The modeling industry prefers slimmer models simply because that means they'll be able to squeeze into the "sample size" clothes. Sample size clothes are essentially garments made as miniscule as possible so as to conserve material cost. Pretty messed up but ey gotta account for profitability i guess ://
that's what they say - i suspect it's just an excuse. all the top brands have more than enough money for some more inches of material.

Anyone who's watched the Victoria's Secret Fashion show, or THIS CHANNEL knows that it's easy to pick up an ED due to the modeling industry's strict dietary and weight expectations. So yes, while you can be slim and healthy (I am a naturally petite slim woman) it's also very hard to see a more curvy body shape on the runway. Hope this breakdown helped you. ❤
