I like the live coaching even more when bsj forces himself to sticking to the players camera. That way we learn more about information priority. What do you need to know vs what is nice to know.
And it is even more stressful for the player which I consider to be quality entertainment :D

The lower the mmr the more you need to farm as a support.
Your team will never play that efficiently that the every part of the map is getting farmed.
But the higher you go the more you will see map utilization and the less you have to farm.
I went from Crusader to high Legend. My farm as a support went way down, there's just less shit I can go to farm myself, everything's pushed and farmed.
@@SinisterMJ that just means you need to start doing real support stuff more but never stop farming if you found opportunities to farm. In pubs the team with the higher networth usually wins... even pos 5 or 4 are part of that networth increase it.
Higher mmr know how to get farm without farming, warding , stacking and not dieing is the best way to increase networth/mmr as support otherwise ur hurting ur team by farming... unless ur crusader or below 😂

@@kp2nator Thats not entirely true. If you look at the stats for support heros, the higher in rank you go, the lower the networth graph. A low level support can just farm more cause there's more available on the map, the cores are a lot less efficient. Example:
Core Luna, Herald, 20 mins: avg 7362g
Core Luna, Divine, 20 mins: 9490g
Support Warlock, Herald, 20 mins: avg 4344g
Support Warlock, Divine, 20 mins: avg 3931g
Its not that the Divine support doesn't know how to last hit / farm, its just that there is nothing available for him.
I'm a crusader 5 myself and a support too, and I have to say I learn a lot from these videos. In this particular one, tho, what I notice is that BSJ wins the game based basically on his game/map awareness and understanding where people are and where they should be, which is a skill sooo hard to practice.

I guess that essentially what this video is about is: pushing the side lanes and taking the farm that your team is missing at the same time + avoiding all the stupid shit.
@@Sc0pee yeah for sure. literally do what's necessary and avoid making mistakes. if you can play without making big mistakes, and wait to pounce for when the enemy team makes a big mistake, i'm noticing you'll win 80% of games until the mistakes stop being so huge. i'd think like 3k for big ones probably
The sniper is now like "I am an amazing sniper, the best, I am so good valve highlighted me with this blue sphere to show how good I am, but it's only me the team sucks no support gg."

(small edit: depends of rank ofc, also lanes/camps that are not near any core, like the cm farming the bot lane 40 minuts cuz neither naga nor sniper even thought about going down there)

you can combine these two if you have some survivability, like ogre, cm or kotl with glimemr etc, and be bait for your team
either you get farm and push out waves or take away enemy jungle or your team gets either a pickoff or only loses a support

I'll be honest- I was a ride or die core player since I started playing Dota but the educational smurf and the live coaching that you do for support players might eventually get me to buy a ward some day (also this is superb content)

Awesome video man, I'm a huge fan! I'm just a bit curious, I see you priorities farm a lot more than being around your team in the early game, it kinda makes me think if you farm so much while your team constantly fight at 4v5 (at best), and if they get to the late game like that it kinda looks like they would manage to do relatively fine without the support (?)
Wouldn't it be better if you just grouped up around the sniper, enable him to get as much kills as possible, push when u can and close the game even before min 40? Because it looks like the sniper just completely saved that team (?)
As a divine 1 player, though I'm a midlaner, usually I win my games as pos 5/4 because I know how annoying/important a support can be by doing what a pos1/2 in the map, but buying a linken to prevent my carry dies that was new for me.

There was a couple moments where I really wanted him to force staff in, ult and glimmer to change the direction of a fight in a huge way. But other than that I learned a lot about how to play cm. Nice!
And you'll notice BSJ advised against using said ult because the moment you do that vs anyone with a brain you get stunned
@@no3ironman11100 Hence the glimmer, or wait till straight disables are used then go. Even if you take the focus for a second or two, that can often be a fight changer in itself. Especially after your carry's bkb wears off, and they stun you instead of him.
would be super helpful to explain when you see why the fights are being taken so bad, what is so bad and how the team would need to fight differently. not much time to do this in live coaching but after the game is over it would be really good to hear why and what on those parts that didn't get the time before to be explained
It´s quite sad, that carry players in our rank are doing the same (being in jungle/chasing and feeding), while lanes are pushed towards us. Then there start blaming of support being on lane and literraly the only one, who push the lane back :)

Just remember that if they were good enough to know how to correctly play both their own and your hero at the same time, they would be in a higher bracket

So one q, when you coach carries, you tell them to farm away from the team as they create space. But you tell the sup to do the same, is it because we don't trust our teammates?
PLEASE CAN DOTA ADD A FEATURE, where ALL supports/heros can get vision JUST on a cliff ONLY if there is a sentry ward there and up to the zone it covers. Im TIRED of having to use my courier for vision if i don't have a spell that allows me to see on the high grounded pillar, and i think it's really minor but also huge and somehow unfair, but definitely could affect the meta so that other supports can be picked more often.
Sentries do give vision but only when you plant it and only for about 5 seconds and if you knew this then asking for less work isn't in the spirit of DotA. If the top people in DotA have to do it,you can. If you don't want to,you lose the benefits.
@@user-xf8we6tf4e nah you don't, sorry my bad did i type it out too complicated.. you didnt understand my statement haha you have to put the sentry on the cliff. If i hide the sentry in the bush you dont get 5 seconds of vision on the cliff and im not gonna put a sentry on the cliff because then theyre going to deward it way quicker and you get less vision around open areas especially when they have invis heros. Sometimes they dont see the sentry in the bush too and then they put another ward there and you can get 2 wards with 1 sentry if you are quick enough. The top people in dota cant do it. Its literally not a feature.
It would have to be a new button feature for all heros to look up a cliff for vision ONLY if there is a sentry ward zoned in the cliff. And not giving vision around the cliff to keep fairness and only on the cliff for lets say 5 seconds.
Because it is unfair that CM as a support can look at the top with her Nova, but a pudge support hook goes over the cliff and you dont get any vision, and they cant make pudge give vision with his hook that would be wrong and this is just 1 hero example. Its definitely a feature they could easily implement. And thats how it is unfair for certain heros. Its a simple fix

If they add this feature, they need to balance it. Like with couriers since now you get a free courier but you can't buy 1 anymore. The only way i see this feature getting in is to make the gameplay different so its more interesting.
I think giving vision on every spell similar to pudges might cause gameplay issues because of lingering vision. Also it might just be a pain to code or its not something important since its more quality of life stuff.
@@user-xf8we6tf4e thats why i said they'd have to add a new button in that allows you to do that. Its really simple its like adding another type of scan. Where instead of heros its for wards only if there is a sentry in the zone, and only on cliffs. I use my courier for vision all the time. Even constanly using it as bait if a teamate is low or about to die. This feature could only balance all the heros out and actually and cause people not to have to use their courier which would be really handy especially when youre waiting on items... which is dumb because while a cm can have vision on a cliff, and pudge doesnt. Lions stun doesnt give either, wd maledict doesnt give either. So it would just be a simple feature of a scan.
It just balances support heros out more. And would only make the game way more competitive and more fair based on hero picks. I think itd change the meta slightly aswell as other suports would definitely be picked more often in higher tier brackets.
@@ipsi_lea i don't think it would necessarily balance the game. What would probably happen is meta change and faster gameplay.
But you also forget that pudge can out carry a cm. Same with wd,shaman,even dazzle was once a carry. CM has basically been a 4,5 in the pro scene so. In comparison to alot of supports,cm lacks alot of multi-role. Pudge,especially recently, is now a core. Dazzle has healing,control,damage,buffs etc,shaman can push towers,chen,rubic,aa,disruptor etc. Lion and lich are probably the closest in terms of role ability. Cm is basically like jug,a sort of reliable hero.
Don't forget she has terrible move speed aswell as trash attack speed and base damage. Personally she is balanced to me since her weak points are really trash and her strength is killed by a silence.
But if they did add this,it would be interesting and new but also a pain to implement but it wouldn't really balance, it would just give non-supports a support ability and make cores abit more independent.
Also pudge support is really griefy,i hope you play him well if you do.

I have started to play carry offlane primarily like Ammar_The_Fucker. I have gained 2 stars on my Guardian rank in 3 days. I watched a lot of BSJ and other streamers to how to read matchups and lane equilibrium. In most matchups now, I am more farmed than enemy carry while playing offlane
in guardian you can be more farmed than carry as every pos
@@phunweng962 not true because everyone is low mmr like you and pos 4 are also assholes who like to last hit over you as pos 3. in first 10 mins, I have more last hits and denies as pos 3 over enemy pos 1 by changing the lane equilibrium in my favor

You don't seem to realize how big impact that is when BSJ tell him to wave the creeps all the game, consistently. No joke the game could have been ended long ago without that.

@@phunweng962 Dude I play hood alot and hood is better than cm with maelstrom. but the enemy team its like they don't have time they pushed us so hard ( Brood - Beast master - Visage ) these type of hero they can be in your base under 20 min or they will follow you around in low mmr nobody care about the side lanes and split psuhing that's why arc in low mmr can 1 vs 5. as pos 4 you have nothing to do
btw my mmr is 5.2K divine 4

@@shadder8431 and yeah visage, beast master, nature s prophet and brood, in 20 min you have almost no towers, the thing is not to feed, and try to split push and go High ground (possible to win, depending on team synergy).
PS : against arc warden, just buy eul scepter and pray for him to be bad...

I climbed from Herald 5 starting at covid, then stuck at Crusader 5 until a month ago, and now Legend 1, and I can say that Crusader 5/Archon 1 was the worst rank I've been at by far. Really enjoyed watching this one
I’ve played with my 6k friends, I’ve played at 2k because I quit dota for 2 years after talents were introduced. When I came back, everybody was just better at the game than they were before.
I’ve been climbing back up to my old 6k rank. And I have to say, nothing was harder than getting over the 2.5k hill.
What did you find to be the hardest part of it? I'm just over 3k now but found about 2600-3000 tough to climb
Crusaders are good. Herald 10 mmr is hell i go 30-0 every game but lose because team throws
@@tylerreis-sanford5234 As a support player: having to pick up the slack, farming where I really shouldn’t be because the carry can’t play the map right, 4 position that thinks they have to buy out all of the wards when they have no real concept of where vision needs to go(they always put 3 wards on our side of the map when we’re ahead and they immediately get dewarded giving the enemy a vision advantage). I got past this rank by playing cm, farming just like this video and building blink > gem > boots of bearing. Every single game.
Thanks to bsj i just lost my first cm game in a few months, keep it up like my mmr goes down!

I play a lot of games with Russians (unfortunately) and they will not hesitate to spam the report button for the most stupid things, like for example in this example game, I would've got reports for A) "Pushing the lane" with my spells, B) "Taking mid from sniper", C) "Farming lanes" (when I'm actually pushing them), D) Farming Jungle... etc.

so with the lvl 20 talent thing where he skilled poorly, I think what it is and I do this too, is a lot of players use the torte or immortal faith guide and end up following the guide exactly in order every game, I myself have been trying to get more into the sense of playing based on the game itself and not based off the guide but it can be hard to change to that mindset when playing that way for so long
yeah, when i get the idea of the hero i turn the guide off because of auto pilot mistakes
@@icata12345 Or just make your own guide. I spam certain heroes which i just take the time and optimize my own guide.
Even if i think my guide is good i dont always choose what It says to get... every matchup is different and most people will not understand this without playing a hero over and over against different heroes.

As a support why are you skilling anything but e and stats?
@@xbon1 cause in lane being able to harass either of the offlaners with Q and W, especially W can lead to your carry getting kills in the early game which boosts them ahead
@@michaelrox3171 he explained early, naga is a hero that doesn't do shit in laning phase. so it's a harass lane.
if it's a jugg BSJ will tell him to max W.
Most of the games it's Max Q. Easier to farm and clear waves.
Only time you max W first is if your team needs disable to kill.
