Lol at Steve’s reaction to Phil buying a tent and automatically assuming it’s a camping tent. I worked at a company that rented tents for events and they make plenty of different style of tents that function to provide shade or keep you dry from rain. They are are 8 or 10 feet tall and have no side walls. We never called them a gazebo in the states. Pop up tents that unfold to cover a 10x10 space are super common.
I haven't worked at a tent company and laughed for the same reason Steve did. I think most people think of camping tents when they hear "tent". But fair enough I'll give DSP this one lol.

Phil's barbecue plans are pretty much a prestream in text form.
I've always known a gazebo as a somewhat permanent wooden structure in a park. Tents are mainly a cloth supported by poles no matter what the size. Circus tents being one.

This whole thing almost makes me feel bad for young Phil. Almost.
Like you can really see he was a friendless kid who deep down just wanted people to accept him and think he was cool, but he was a spoiled brat who always felt entitled to love and acceptance, probably because his parents always allowed him to get away with his tantrums. Maybe it hits a bit too close to home, but I can feel sympathy for a lonely shy kid with an indulgent parent, but then he goes and calls his dad a fn idiot and then you remember how he's acted online so far and man... he was always trying so hard to be seen as this WWE-wannabe person that was all tough and outspoken. It's crazy how he never really grew out of that and now it's all alone and coping by saying that he's just too busy to try friends, and then things like the Sidescrollers' interview and reaching out to Cr1tikal remind you that deep down, all Phil truly wants is a friend and a group that accepts him, except that he's not willing to accomodate or treat people like equals.
Im just now getting into the Dent Sea Scrolls arc. Should be fun
I've seen and heard this theory before but I will say it here again because I think it makes sense. Phil gave up driving on interstates and major highways after his 2nd car accident. This is the one driving home from a tournament when he lost control and smashed into a snow bank. I think that shook him up badly. The back injury and other excuses are a way for him to protect his ego. It also explains how and why he became such a cautious and slow driver.

I think Dave's dad was a justice of the peace, along with a few dozen other people. They can do civil ceremonies but have no duties similar to what normal people think of as a sheriff. I had wondered if his dad married them, but, alas, it was a different justice of the peace who officiated. A derra tor could probably get him to marry them, which would be crazy but.cool.
