I'm currently playing a Twighlight cleric named Moon with all the spells RPed to be connected to the Moon :), and then Matt goes and drops this subclass 😅. Thanks a lot for the review guys!
I'm also playing a twilight cleric! A pallid elf named Vesper. It's been a lot of fun so far. I couldn't help but notice this released subclass too lol.
@@darylchambers9138 I'm playing a Twilight Cleric too! Half Drow Cleric of Eilistraee named Soleniss :) Omgosh isn't it such an amazing and fun class?? Just passing out insane darkvision & advantage on initiative, slinging temp HP left and right, blesses & other buffs, bringing up downed allies, plus holding my own in battle with Spiritual Weapons & Guiding Bolts...our teammates love having a Twilight Cleric in the group!
@@czcrossman yes the darkvision, advantage on initiative and those channel divinities are a killer. I play alone (with a pixie sidekick) so having that heavy armor proficiency helps, plus knowing that i have an ability to fly away from something potentially too dangerous is awesome
I love my twilight cleric. He's a Kalashtar that worships the original god Sanctuary. The first time I went down with my twilight sanctuary running, the DM told me he needs to drop me more often. The temp hp is insane.
It's a cleric but it feels like it has a little bit of a darker twist to it using the powers of the moon for curses and stuff which is a very interesting change to the cleric class!
I'd like to say that "a creature within 30 feet of you that you can see' does include yourself, the rules for targeting yourself are, "If a spell targets a creature of your choice, you can choose yourself, unless the creature must be hostile or specifically a creature other than you. If you are in the area of effect of a spell you cast, you can target yourself." and the text does not specify that you cannot be the creature selected. That aside, great assessments.
you can aslo multiclass to stars circle druid and being on dragon set. So, if you have adamantine armor and dragon form, bit hard to lose your concentration on spells, because your min. will be always 10
Really loved the new stuff from the book even though its unofficial and my DM wont allow it :( I feel like these subclasses have a really unique feel to them or to put it better they dont feel like classes thrown together with the same old mechanics but like subclasses with a lot of flavour. New to your channel and really love the content and that you insert the texts so its way easier to follow. New subscriber here ^^
@@Wischy33Hey thanks for the info. I already got a Barblock for our next campaign and we will pause until start of next year but maybe I can make my backup char a Moon Cleric and our DM will allow it :D
Giving the rogue advantage seems probably more impactful than giving it to a different melee martial character; rogues only get one attack and you really want that hit to hit.
Sounds like war caster wouldn’t help with the disadvantage of concentration considering your focusing on 2 spells and it’s designed for 1. So the way around that is 1 lvl dip in clockwork sorcerer and use your reaction to remove the disadvantage. Take the vital sacrifice to add 2d6 to the up cast moonbeam. Also having 3 in sorcerer means you can careful spell hypnotic pattern. Also throwing out spiritual weapon before wildshaping helps too. Could also get stupid with it and use glyph of warding and use spirit guardian and move underground while it’s cast for the full time and since it’s a sphere shaped of 15 feet you can affect those above ground with it following behind you in the hole. So you got basically two beams of death moving around in enemies that are 0 movement and incapacitated and can’t take a action or reaction. Have fun!🎉
i actually have a character in a campaign rn that is working to become a paladin of Selune the moon goddess and i may just take parts of this cause this oozes flavor
The only spells on the spell list that could be twinned would be invisibility or greater invisibility - but you can also just upcast invisibility to get more targets instead so I guess it depends on if you want to be using all your points to do that.

I would have liked to see a ‘moon’ class focused around tidal forces but it seems pretty solid
All these subclasses are so unique both thematically and practically.
Tho this one has to be my favourite
Someone mentioned a Moon Cleric and Stars druid being best friends and I can't stop thinking about it
Clerics are so much fun to play and roleplay potential is huge this is just another addition and i enjoy it
I see a bunch of Moon Knight builds coming out when the series hits

Interesting that more moon themed classes have been coming out lately

Hey I know this comment is a year old, but this book is now officially on dnd beyond! so your dm might allow it now!

This sounds great! I will play this one if I can.
Giving the rogue advantage seems probably more impactful than giving it to a different melee martial character; rogues only get one attack and you really want that hit to hit.
To be fair, rogues tend to be able to grant themselves advantage very easily.
The only thing i dislike about this subclass is how reliant on your channel divinity it is

That is an excellent domain spell list.
I LOVE clerics! This is going to be so awesome!
This sounds like an awesome subclass
i actually have a character in a campaign rn that is working to become a paladin of Selune the moon goddess and i may just take parts of this cause this oozes flavor
Honestly, as much as I want to love this subclass....... Twilight is so strong and still has me in it's clutch's
The second concentration's very interesting.
Nice job guys!
I wish I had this subclass when I created my cleric for Curse of Strahd
I like these new subclasses, though personally I like the community domain cleric most so far.
I kinda like this a lot ngl
Haha heard someone’s ESPN Fantasy app in the background! :P
Dang it Alex 🤦♂️
It's... bizzare. For sure Wisdom bonus is great. It fills very setting concentreted.
Are you doing? the blight druid? if so thats going to be awesome!
Tomorrow!
Is this new unofficial book avaliable on dnd beyond?
Unfortunately not.
I have wanted to make a Drow Cleric of Eilistraee.
Happy Hands in the House!
where do you find the Taldori book
Critical Role Shop is your best bet. shop.critrole.com/collections/new-products/products/taldorei-campaign-setting-reborn thanks for watching!
@@URGE thank you
I usually have a witty joke for these... I got nothing for this one. Its solid
What is your favorite class
I agree with you two. Nice, but...
I think this subclass just asks for a lycanthropy flavor in the campaign :P
Sailor moon themed would be funny
moon cleric stars druid multiclass
cool
Go sorcerer, twin a concentration spell. Then use your channel divinity and sorcerer to twin ANOTHER spell. Concentrate on 4 spells :)

@@troyyrob If you are multiclassing into sorcerer, you have the entire sorcerer spell list...
