  • Today I show you how to remove and install a shift linkage bushing in a 2013 Dodge Dart. This tutorial works on model years 2013-2016. Part number cstgv341aa-001. as of right now at the time of publishing this video there is no where to buy this on Amazon I did try punching that part number to eBay and you can buy on eBay but it may be easier just to go to your local Dodge dealer to pick up this part. the symptoms you may experience if this happens to your car is that you will not be able to shift into park or you're in park and you will not be able to shift into any other gear, it may feel like it's a transmission issue, but fortunately for this particular car it was just the shift linkage bushing for that Dodge Dart. also, check with your Dodge dealer this may be a recall and Dodge may be able to do it for free

Bought a 2015 dart for my wife. Worst car I have ever bought. The 2015 alone had 8 recalls. Her car has been in the shop 4 times. Most the recalls I fixed. But damn. Dodge needs to get off their asses. Anyway, you didn't have to take all that off. Took 15 minutes to replace mine. Can't believe you took all that off...lol

  • @mrwp819300

This is WAY WAY WAY easier to fix than how you did it in this video.
You don't need to do ANY of this. Theres a factory recall on this part. I just had mine done on my 2013 in November 2020.
Besides, you can do it by just removing the big metal computer part, then the left and front on the battery tray. Then you can get to easily. The bottom of the battery tray DOES NOT have to be removed. I've replaced this bushing 6 times myself since I bought it new and I just got tired of buying the part and replacing it so I took it the dealer and they replace it in a way that its permanent and if it does wear out, it still doesn't destroy the cable.

I used a gm dorman shift cable bushing part number 14055 and replaced my bushing easily after autozone said it was a dealer part only. It was for a 2015 dodge dart. And i didn't take off all those parts either. Just the two screws holding the cable down on the shifter link but i did that the battery out and the rifgt side plate holding the tcm or pcm that is screwed on to it. This job took me less then 20 minutes to do.. great video you got but too much work for that job. I did this job today just to see what i was dealing with but when i got to the car i knew by looking at this video you did to much for that cable job. Its why simpler.

As I was turning into walmart last night parking my car I noticed my gear shift wasn't working properly. I had to wait nearly 2 hours for road side assistance. During my wait... A man pulled up in Wal-Mart and came to my rescue. He went under my hood and put my car in drive mode by itself so I was able to drive it home. Then he went under my hood when I got home and put it in park mode. Hopefully he is going to come back today and fix it for me so I can drive my car again. That's my lively hood.

I was able to replace mine without removing the computer or the tray. I removed the two bolts that hold the shift cable down and also the computer plug closest to the firewall. After that it gave me enough room to pull the cable assembly up between the computer and the motor and replaced the bushing. I used the Dorman 14055 bushing from autozone and had to slightly shave it down to fit. Once that was done went together easy.

This is the easiest way. I removed a lot of the parts all the way down to the bottom of the battery tray. Then realized i couldn’t remove those hard to reach bots underneath. I still couldn’t really get the bushing in using c clamp. Just took the 2 bolts out holding the base of the shift cable. The cable then moves out to the open working area and it took 5 minutes after that. If I had to do it again this would be the only thing I take off! 2 bolts, snap in bushing, screw back in bolts, snap bushing back onto stud, you’re done.
