Best tutorial video, that shows visual examples and explaining clearly... Thank you for being like the other morons that just talk about it omg. Hope people learn from your example. Good job
I’ve watched a few other videos about this and was dreading pulling the console out. I watched yours and thought, I need to start here. Sure enough. Lithium grease and a hammer and repeatedly banging it up and down, it worked! Thank you! Great video
I would keep it coated a couple times a year atleast more especially during the winter. Not sure why they are so prone to corrosion but I freed this one up and so far it is still working perfectly. BTW I love the white lithium blaster , great stuff.Thank you for the feedback
It will stick with the parking brake on position on the caliper. It won't allow it to retract and reset itself rendering it useless. Thanks for the question.
The brake remains engaged. You can feel it when you are on a hill and the hill assist lets go, the car won't roll bakwards/forwards like it normally does. You can even feel which wheel is seized. The wheel will also be very hot after driving a longer distance from the brake friction.
Does anybody know how to replace the bolt that holds the spring on - this the bolt that holds the thing on that you were pounding on. Ours broke off. :( Need to get a replacement bolt and remove the broke one. Trying to find out what that bolt is called or the length to know what to buy.
That is a special bolt/part of the caliper that requires disassembly of the entire caliper , pretty much have to rebuild it. It may be possible to find the part but honestly I would replace the caliper. They are side specific . Here is a link to a brand I use to give you an idea of price . amzn.to/3RIGA2s
Very unlikely. I would check the caliper first , and see if it needs to be freed. Most of the time this is the issue. Please share the video and thank you for watching.
I would still try to free them up , it is time consuming. The cable is usually not the problem , it is the caliper , so if it simply won't free up then a caliper would be the next step.

I appreciate the great feedback.
It's amazing how many other videos call for that adjustment screw when it is stuck in the back and even pull apart the whole center just to get to it.
Thank you so much for the great feedback.
Thank you for the video .
You're welcome , thank you for the feedback.
i hate the design of the brake on this car, i had to replace my calipers at 40k due to living in iowa. do you need to respray it? if so, how often?

Thank you for the great feedback.
So when it is siezeing up is it sticking with the parking brake on or off?

So what do I do if the arm moves but the rest doesn’t??
You will most likely have to replace the caliper. Hope this helps.
would WD40 work to lube it?
Yes , absolutely . I prefer the white lithium pb blaster , but wd40 works great.
@@s33therfan Ok thanks

my mechanic tried to free it but not for very long he said for me to get both clippers n cable what you think
