    You have helped me so much. I'm military and my soldier's broke. And we put one on the kidpopping off. Come to find out I was putting it on wrong. Put it on right and now he has no issues. We bought it O'reilly's and if it perfectly.

    Put a 9/16 socket on the side the bushing pushes into between the c clamp. it will give the bushing somewhere to go. the side of the plier itself was keeping it from seating all the way

      Always keep a extra one in the truck becus they’re very common breaking. Some last for months or 1 year. Just keep a extra one in the truck so safety

    Pretty sure that was the wrong bushing kit. I needed Dorman 14104 and my setup looks exactly the same.

      The first bushing I used I could not get to work but the second bushing brand Dorman part number 14073 has not given me any issues since replaced

    That part doesn't fit 2007 tahoe and nothing at oreillys Dorman wise worked that sad for gm. I just bolted it

      GM should've just made it a bolt on in the first place. IDK WHY they do stupid cheap engineering that is bound to fail like this here. I just replace my second bushing - added a zip tie this time.

    Man, I just put one on yesterday and that little plastic thing was very hard to get on. I hope I don't never have to deal with that again or that shift interlock solenoid both a pain in the assto put on

      I just put on the first bushing for the third time in a year and a half, seems to come off at the worst possible place

    Warm up the bushing before installing to make it easier to install. You didn't get it seated properly

      I do think the one that I used could work on your truck but I have seen a different one used on your model truck

      Yes it does use the smallest one. Use a face clamp to compress. Then use vice grips to attach on.

    So what’s the part number for the bushing kit you ended up using? Oreily sold me the wrong one I had the same issue. Was it a doorman universal kit you ended up using?

      The old bushing came out itself. They eventually dry rod and break off.
      So I bought a bushing to replace it

      Probably with a small pic and hammer gently hammering it out

      With a pick or flat head screwdriver its a stiff rubber.

      I bought new GM bracket so I could still use truck while adapting. Drilling Hardened steel will take a few hours without proper bit.

      And yes I did install a part that didn’t work for me but wasn’t incorrect as you can see on these comments someone else had a different way of working with the bushing that didn’t work for me and the bushing that I did use that has not given me issues since replaced was installed the same way as the first one just a little easier
