Blondie never gets old. The music is timeless, great and memorable. In fact, we all have memories connected to Blondie songs. Thank God for Blondie and Debra Harry.
Well, maybe for 69. This was the peak of her beauty. She was breath-taking at this point in her life. But I feel you dog. Debbie will always be beautiful - inside and out.
She just seemed to know instinctively which moves to make, (or not make), which expressions to use-- she was BORN to be this woman, she led the pack, every move she made, wild or tame-- everything she did seemed absolutely RIGHT and NATURAL. This song filled the dance floors every single time. Debbie, thanks for helping me survive my youth....
@@slestertv6185 ...bro... I never said she was singing this live?? Why would anyone assume this was live??? 😂 Hahahahaha!! Like, this is not my first experience with watching a music video, lol. Or are you trying to say it's not as good because it's not live? Because I disagree: being recorded in a studio doesn't devalue her musical ability. I was just saying she has a relaxed quality to her voice: she hits every note, but it never sounds like she's reaching for them. The tone and tension stay even, which is just uncommon for a lot of singers that cover a wide pitch range. It doesn't count for "less" because it's not live: it's skill!
In the late 70thies, I used to work as an expat on a construction site in the Ukraine. We worked 60 - 80 hours a week. We were always tired and homesick. Every Saturday night, they organized a disco in our camp. I remember Heart of Glass was the absolute highlight. Everybody danced like crazy to that tune. One could forget all that crap for 3 min. 49 sec.

Such a haunting, yet beautiful song. I too remember hearing this song in taxis etc as a kid, desperately wanting to know which song it was. I'd try to pick out lyrics but couldn't make them out anymore than 'glass' something, as her voice is intentionally mumbly here. It used to drive me crazy so now I'm so glad I found it.

I haven't heard all Blondie songs, but from the popular selection that I have heard, this one sounds unlike any other- it's actually good, excellent! Anyone heard other good songs similar to this one? I can't describe it with musical language precision but the background beat, it sounds like a clock ticking in the background that makes it sound hypnotic, psychedelic...like relaxing dream like music.
This one is definitely a unique one from their discography (actually so many of their songs are pretty unique from one another, but I can only think of Atomic by them that has that same background instrument, at least in the beginning and in the bass solo).
This awesome song uses a (now) Dinky little (Well, Not so little) Drum Machine called the Roland CR-78.

Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind
Once I had a love and it was divine
Soon found out I was losing my mind
It seemed like the real thing but I was so blind
Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind
In between
What I find is pleasing and I'm feeling fine
Love is so confusing there's no peace of mind
If I fear I'm losing you it's just no good
You teasing like you do
Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind
Lost inside
Adorable illusion and I cannot hide
I'm the one you're using, please don't push me aside
We could've made it cruising, yeah
Yeah, riding high on love's true bluish light
Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out I had a heart of glass [radio version]
Soon turned out to be a pain in the ass [album version]
Seemed like the real thing only to find
Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind

There is women as stunning but she's just super cool along with it, she's got absolutely everything , she's the icon of all icons!
В 90-Х в России по первому каналу каждое утро эту песню крутили,ностальгия
Esa musica que no necesitaba de grandes equipos y aun asi era genial

jan andersen hahhahahahahaha
+jan andersen ..wake up ! she WAS ... today she's an old lady
Edgehead10075 well we all gonna get old though if u are lucky enough not to die first
First, she still good looking, and from NJ, so she'll always be hot. Second, Debbie was not 20 years old when Blondie finally hit it big. She was damn 40. At 71 years old she looks pretty good.
She’s beautiful love her voice
no other girl or woman can match the sexiness that Blondie put in here. she was the ultimate disco queen and every boy's dream..
lembranca da minha infância ...muitas saudades daquele tempo ...Inesquecivel !
una gran cancion , no tube la oportunidad de escucharla en aquellos grandiosos años pero sin duda sus canciones perduraran durante muchos años mas
Damn she was so effin beautiful back then, and still is today as well..
I still have all her vinyl records, she rocked.
Beauty + talent = ultimate performer
Beauty with a touch of attitude. Debbie will forever be one of a kind. Another, you will never find.
