    Noting that the damage scalars against all enemies for all weapon types have been calculated and documented by MossyMax. His spreadsheet is a fantastic resource.

      it refills your ammo automatically when you go down the stairs to it, and there's these discs you can shoot at for various damage numbers... but there's no way to proc any perks whatsoever, some discs give yellow numbers, but it's not clear if it's precision damage as Focus Fury doesn't proc. none of them break either, so you can't proc Rampage or Kill Clip.

    Hey, great video. One thing that I found out recently that will help is how to identify a boss (ultra) versus a major (elites, minibosses, champions). The icon to the left (or above in the case of Savathun) of their health bar will be a diamond shape if they are a boss and will be a triangle shape (minibosses, champions) or shield shape (elites) if they are majors. Fallout did a video about this. That way you don't have to try to freeze or finish them to know. Hope that helps.

    Great video. Another comment has already linked Mossy's spreadsheet which has valuable information for damage scaling at different difficulties and Combatants. The best way to tell at a glance what is and isn't a Boss is by looking at their iconography. 99.99% of the enemies in the game have correct icons - the exceptions aren't assigned correctly but wouldn't be efficient/relevant to test on anyway. Combatants are as follows (assigned by their Classification tier, then rank - I tend to avoid color assignments for color blindness reasons):
    Minors:
    • Rank-and-File (split into 3 main tiers) - square icon
    Majors:
    • Elites (split into 3 main tiers) - shield icon
    • Minibosses - downwards triangle icon
    • Champions - downwards triangle icon
    Note: Vorpal Weapon affects Minibosses and Champions only; The Conflux Lost Sector Boss is a Miniboss (as are all EDZ and Nessus normal-level Lost Sectors; all other locations still in the game and any Legend/Master Lost Sectors have Bosses instead)
    Ultras:
    • Bosses - diamond shape with a skull
    • Constructs and Vehicles - no icon/icon varies; I wrote-up a breakdown post on this subject on Reddit

    A great example here would be Wardcliff Coil. For the few who aren’t aware, Wardcliff has a massive damage penalty against bosses to compensate for its otherwise incredible single target damage output. This is why it’s the go-to weapon of choice to melt Gorgons; they aren’t bosses, so Wardcliff’s “limiters” are removed.

    the delineation between various yellow health enemies is absurd. like, it feels like there's more types of yellow health bar enemies than there are different health bar colors. which, at that point the purpose of color coding enemy health bars based on relative strength of the enemy starts to lose its meaning if there's no "at a glance" way to tell if they're a major, a mini-boss, or a boss

  • @twobagsh2879
    @twobagsh2879 Год назад +1

    It would be interesting to see that the community has a kind of uniform baseline of damage testing, similar to the funnel web used in this video. Since the damage numbers can differ by a lot of variables, such as the damage number being very different between Kalli and a lost sector boss, it would be difficult to compare results from two different tests with only damage numbers.

    Imagine, I’ve been watch some of your videos in regard to stasis and how it affects damage numbers in a DPS phase. How do you think a melee based DPS phase would look like with one player using a cold steel stasis sword? (the one from dawning)
    This could be in raids dungeons or anywhere. I’m just curious how this application would fair, and how different damage options would pan out. There’s the obvious swords, but there are also some melee DPS builds on titan and hunter.

    • @imagineabuild
      @imagineabuild  Год назад +1

      I was talking about this in discord with a few friends earlier - I think the consensus that we came to was that if you're on stasis for DPS, the best move is likely to run Bleak watcher and Glacial Harvest to get font of might, Bleak watchers for shatter, and a whirlwind blade zephyr for damage. Cold steel is nice, but when you're already on a stasis subclass, you can just use abilities to replace the perk with another damage perk.

    I do recall this being made pretty clear after the TH got removed by a few people, yet for some reason, everybody just stuck to Carl anyways because they figured it's just a matter of using a different multiplier to get the real numbers.
    The matter of compounding is exactly what I had in mind at the time, and not just over the long term, but also within the initial results themselves because of rounding. An insignificant deviation over a full damage phase will represent a passable result when factoring in the multiplier between majors and bosses, but what of situations where the multiplier itself is so different? A full damage phase will yield heavily skewed results.
    P.S: I do apologise if I might've used incorrect terms, but I did most of my schooling in a language that isn't English. Makes it harder to explain the thought process.
