I have a podcast and RUclips channel. RUclips definitely gets you more exposure the more you post and rise in algorithm but podcast are so easy to start with apps like Anchor that get the technical side of things out the way. All you have to do is record and post a quick easy podcast.

Great vidoe! Its incredible how fast your channel has grown! I am so happy for you. I was one of your 1st subscriber. Love your videos

I debated this very question. I went with RUclips because it’s SEARCHABLE content and YT will help you promote to your ideal audience in Recommended videos. It’s a LOT more work though! 😂

I started a channel because I wanted to be able to connect to be more personable with people. One day I'd love to have a podcast but right now i just want to focus on my video content :)

Same here! RUclips feels like a community and so I want to focus on it more! I will be doing podcast once my RUclips channel grows more than 5k

Very comprehensive! And I’m impressed you reached 200k. You were at 40k when I found you, 55k when we had a coaching session. Great work! But did you really share what your podcasting contacts felt about doing it, being happy about it or not? I didn’t hear it ... thanks!

Great tips! I thought about starting a podcast, but I don't have enough of a following. Thank you for confirming what I already thought. I'm focusing on creating a second RUclips channel instead.

Check out Anchor. It's so easy to start, and people will find your podcast on their own the more you post. It's like a RUclips for podcasts. Good luck :)

Thank you so much... as a new channel trying to grow, we need all the help we can get. Knowledge, input and support from other youtubers... we need to stick together and make our Foochiwawaw party crew! 😘💕💕💕💕💕

This was great, I toyed with the idea of starting a podcast, and would like to eventually, but I chose RUclips because of the visual component. I feel as though just adding a face to the name/channel brings more trust.

future video topic could be choosing the camera (or other equipment) for youtube videos, I see you list what you are using but there may be trade offs and other models for different budgets.

  • @qcitizen6738

A great presentation of things to consider.
Thorough, intelligent, insightful and practical first approach.
Without directly promoting any specific brand, I think there could have been a little bit more information about what to look for in the hardware equipment and software options. Since, there's a lot of companies out there, claiming that their product's features are 'best' for YOU.
    Otherwise, great vid.

I've been debating on whether I should do RUclips video or podcast style for my channel, to start out, I might wanna just do podcast style just cause it's cheaper and quicker and I only have my phone available at this time, my videos don't require to see me to watch the video so, it's not like I HAVE to be seen

Good information. I think it would be better if you showed the equipment. When I watch a video I do like to have more visuals. So this may make a great podcast which is more verbal.

Hi, I have a question not directly related to this video about scheduling a video and adding it to the playlist. If I make the video private and schedule it while adding to the playlist, it shows a black icon in the playlist with Private video label. I can't make it public and the last option is unlisted which I believe displays the video in case the playlist is public. If you want to schedule videos before hand adding them to a public playlist, is there a workaround?
