Definitely considering a Podcast. Pat Flynn's tutorial videos have totally inspired me!! I'll be 60 in less than 2 months but I look and feel like 40!!

Just in first 6 minutes Pat actually answers all the major questions in my head. Thank you for this, glad I watch this before doing something. Podcasting or Vlogging
*Every of think media's video is always very helpful and informative for me. I am a beginner on RUclips and I have been using tips from your videos. Thank you!*
It is so beautiful how you in the middle of this video ask for the like button, You are very charismatic, I barely started watching your great videos...and so just realized I have so many to watch for my future youtube channel, so thank you!
I'm thinking of starting both a podcast and RUclips channel. My concern is that I'm cross-eyed and that may be a distraction for the RUclips channel. Should I still go that route or stick to podcasting?
I kind of want to start one to talk about political issues civil rights issues laws the state of society today and the impact of covid-19 and just a variety of topics. I'm good at that kind of stuff I'm good at understanding both sides of an issue and kind of helping people find common ground which is something I think that we need these days.

Hey Sean and Pat, I know I've said this in the comments in other videos, but thank you!! Pat got us seriously motivated to start a podcast, and you got us seriously motivated to start RUclips (following the Joe Rogan style). We started back in Feb so we're very new. It is a struggle to gain followers/subscribers but we're not in it for money or anything...just having a blast doing this! All the tips in this video are extremely helpful especially for newbs like us. Probably a big takeaway from all your and Pat's videos is never stop learning and have fun before thinking of making any money. I know that if I never make a dime, I'll still consider this a win because we're having fun doing this. Okay, I'm done with my rant 😂 Keep it up, both of you! Your inspiration and motivation is addicting!!
I was planning on doing both but didn't know how I should go about creating different content for both those platforms so this was an eye opener and very helpful to help me solve that. I am panning on starting both. thank you for all the value
This is right on time..I have a RUclips channel that I would like to grow...& I’ve been kicking around the idea and format for a podcast. Great place to come get knowledge about both.

Have you ever thought about doing your podcast but filming it at the same time? It’s getting really big right now and is great as it tackles both video and podcast at the same time?
Justin Houser ive thought about doing it that way .. but what is the incentive for ppl to watch you on both platforms if you are providing the same material?
Annette Taylor think like Joe Rogan. His podcast is #1 everywhere and he has over like 2+ million RUclips subs. He videos his podcast via YT. I prefer to watch his stuff over listening to it.
I started to film myself in front of the camera like 2 weeks ago, and I dont have any equipment aside from my phone and tripod, but what you said that we should start recording to start a youtube channel 😊 glad for all your tips and guides, helped me a lot
This interview was engaging and very helpful. I found Pat on RUclips on how to start a Podcast. I am excited about the prospects of starting a Podcast first. I would love to do both Podcast and RUclips to reach a wider audience in the near future. Great tips thank you for sharing.
I've been uploading videos to RUclips for a good few months now.. kinda willynilly to be honest lol.. but now I've got it clear as to what it's all about.. and so from now I'm upping my game, investing in the right equipment and am going to do both RUclips and a podcast.. watch this space peeps!! 😀❤️🌟👊
very informative video, I have been currently working on growing my channel geared towards men's fashion, and have been thinking about taking the podcast route since I can talk about topics for longer, have interviews with people, etc.
This definitely helped me with my journey. I’m enjoying the process. I know RUclips is work you just need to want it bad enough and work hard. Thank you for this.
As my little logo suggests, I have a podcast that I record a RUclips video for. I have to become more consistent. My channel focuses on social and political issues and that appeals to a wide but selective audience. One of my recent videos got multiple views and another one got very few. I noticed that my podcast about historical political events tend to get a lot of listeners.
I went podcast first and now I'm focusing HEAVILY on RUclips. But I had to make sure the podcast got traction and momentum and was solid before trying to tackle the beast that is RUclips.

Thank you for another great video. I will stick to videos, I just love filming and creating little films and expressing myself through visuals. but still this was a very very interesting topic, Thanks Sean!
I think you should start RUclips channel because the way you tell the information and with different people is good for me to understand the videos is very good and they also helps me a lot

Thanks for the information. I looking into creating comic book content. I enjoy both podcast & RUclips videos, so I'm thinking of doing both. I think you just confirmed that having different types of content (condensed vs. long form) is the best idea.
I am an intern in college. I just started my internship. I am being asked to create a guide on how to start a podcast. As was said in your video "do the research. I watching the playlist on your channel! great stuff. I am curious about how or where he went to find the information about what is being searched and listened to in regards to podcasting.
I’m doing both YT and Podcasting at the minute, although I’m taking a break from the Technology Reviews Podcast that I do alongside my YT Channel, and just concentrating on growing my other YT Channel, along with the blog and Podcast I’ve created for it, concentrating on film, tv, theatre and concert reviews, tourism reviews and politics.
I'm still trying to get started on RUclips. Posted a few videos. Work in progress. However, I've been in podcasting for 12 years now. I think the time is now to get into podcasting if you're on the fence. If you don't have a lot of money you could always leverage a service like Anchor where the storage is free and your smart phone is your microphone. Quality is going to be OK. Then if you decide to stick with it you should invest in some equipment. Become a part of a community on social media whatever niche you're in and talk to the people!! That's what social media is all about. Interview them on your podcast. I can tell you, my current podcast focuses on talking to strangers on Instagram who are involved in weight loss journeys. It makes for great content and it's more intriguing hearing real raw stories I think vs Interviewing famous people who've been asked the same questions over and over and over again. I used to do wrestling podcasts and you'd get these guys on and it's just the same stuff over and over again. Nothing wrong with that, but that is just my opinion. Last but not least, lean off the vanity metrics and keep on going because it can take a long time before people start to listen to your podcast. Everyone gets hung up on how many downloads they got and what kind of sponsorship deals you can get. If that's the sole reason you're in it, move along. This is a long game. You're going to make mistakes and you're gonna learn as you go. The ones that make it past 50, 100 episodes that's real commitment. Now who's ready to create some podcasts? : )
Thank you so much for this interview....this was so helpful with strategizing my priorities....I am in the midst of creating videos for youtube and also have started interviewing people for a podcast in my niche...this certainly gave me alot to consider in regards to strategy, priorities, and time management...Thanks!
Just had this same debate if we are a podcast or RUclips channel. So we decided to film our conversation and made it more visual. Kolohe juice - in the channel is the name. Thanks for the tips!
Great interview! I one of the many that waffling between the decision of podcast vs RUclips. Love the informative discussion on the pros and cons of each. Already enrolled in your masterclass and have started my journey! L
I have premium and listen to podcasts through my car radio while I drive so the RUclips videos I watch don't have ads other than what the podcast puts in the episode.
I was honestly debating on starting a podcast and still trying to get up that youtube hill but this video really helped me out always great content man listen up folks this guy is a media genius thanks keep the great content co.ing man
Relaunching RUclips June 15th - But seeing where I can Integrate a PodCast. Originally wanting to rip the video from YT, to put onto PC, however, Podcast will have different content and special Guest was my thoughts. Hmmm, lots to think about here! Thank you for this video! Also, I am utilizing Patreon for Monthly subs for a few different tiers, a few being monthly coaching, one-on-one options, which helps sell the coaching (eventually moving this to Sam cart so I can set up the minimum 3 -6 months commitment) the other two tiers are for extended material from YT and the Podcasts. I am approaching the editing time issues, with LIVE content using StreamLine. SO MUCH to THINK about! I feel the pieces are slowly coming together!
Love this @PatFlynn! answered a few questions I was wondering, and created more to ask you this Thursday ;) thanks for sharing an awesome interview @SeanCannell going through your stuff now as I gear up to "launch" or "re-Launch" my channel with exactly what you were discussing here "Using podcast episodes and repurposing content" this was my Endgame from the start and happy to say I've got 70+ episodes from my podcast all of which I've filmed from day one before launch Feb 1st, 2019 :) now to figure out the keyword best practices and YT algorithm. Thanks for all you share, going to pick up your book :)
I have a discussion podcast and my second channel launching this wednesday morning. I’m very excited. These videos have helped alot to make it a reality. Thank you.
podcast. for the poor kids. the kids that are seeing some of the things I've seen. I've made it through a king pin dad. i made it thought meth, OxyContin , methadone, and heroin addiction. this is not for the money. only for helping kids. Thank you all for the time you gave us for this video! This video make it clear to start with podcast. now the study of what all i need to start and funds to start.
Great video. Thank you for sharing that. I am planning to do both. My initial plan is to record the podcast (video) and I'll see how that goes. I have the editing ability to make the video more interesting than me just sitting there...so...crossing my fingers on that one that it works. But I'll be focusing on the podcast first if I just don't like how filming it goes.
Love this video and your content. I have a question about this. My RUclips Channel is Mortgage/Real Estate focused. I rip the audio and put on Anchor.FM right now. But yes the context is all visual, you're right. However I want to start a new podcast that is hyperlocal to my market. Interview local business owners, etc. My question is should I keep that separate? For the new podcast, should I do the video and put that on my RUclips channel in a playlist?
I'm a rapper & I'm also a content creator so I think a podcast will be very successful 4 me. I know alot about life period and have opinions on so many brands as well as my own. This video was helpful
Great advice. I just started my RUclips channel and I am surprised that I already got some many views. I would also love to start a podcast, but as a non native English speaker, it's a bit harder to capture the audience attention. Beautifully shot footage on RUclips will hopefully distract a bit from my not so clean English accent.
Thank you for this video. I’ve been stuck getting started. There is so much to think about. Got great tips and will start with a pod cast first and them move into RUclips a few months afterwards.
I am currently facing the Podcast vs. RUclips dilema. Plan A: I can interview my subject on video and get 20minutes of content. Edit this down to two 3minute segments. Then on Zoom, bring them back, have myself, and content expert. We show video clip #1 and discuss for 10min. Then show clip #2 for 10min. All of this is being recorded in Zoom. I then end the show. I edit this and get a video and audio podcast content. Plan B: Bring everyone in and Zoom record. Edit this to podcast content. Plan C: Grab everyone and do an audio only. I am not sure which is the best plan, the pros and cons.

Go for it!
Thank you so much for this interview....this was so helpful with strategizing my priorities....I am in the midst of creating videos for youtube and also have started interviewing people for a podcast in my niche...this certainly gave me alot to consider in regards to strategy, priorities, and time management...Thanks!
Great interview. As viewer or Listener i like 20 minutes for both to keep my focus on the subject.
I have both and really need to focus on growing my audience. I enjoyed this show

Life related real stories 🤩👌💯
I am considering both.
Thanks for the video. Just starting the marathon 9 videos and 15 subscribers. Great tips, never thought about a starting a podcast?
I want to eventually do live and post on sites from that like the Chalene Johnson example. For now, maybe just start with podcast.
He should look into anchor, he keeps talking about things that can't be done with podcasts but they're being done over there
I would stay away from Anchor!!! Simply because they own your content, most people who use Anchor don’t know that.
I'm a rapper & I'm also a content creator so I think a podcast will be very successful 4 me. I know alot about life period and have opinions on so many brands as well as my own. This video was helpful
Definitely want to do both. I am sticking with building my RUclips channel first.
nice, that's what im doing too! :)
Thank you to both of you. This video is very informative an eye openning....helping one understand and choose what and how to do. Thaaank you!
I've been on RUclips for a few years however I'm trying to figure out how to add a podcast to support my branding.
I'm launching a youtube channel in May, and want to focus on that, but I would LOVE to do a podcast eventually.
Yes.I want to start a podcast. Want to learn more how to start .
Very valuable stuff and definitely a lot of good advice.
We've combined RUclips and our podcast + added "Music review Friday"
I am thinking about starting my own RUclips channel. Thanks for the info
I want to do both! I have my equipment I just need strategy per platform
