The way I see it, the Mario vs DK series takes place before Donkey Kong Country Returns and features DKIII. He travels to New Donk City to trace his heritage and understand Cranky's adventures, but falls into the villain role himself. However, since he's not a coward like his grandfather, he owns up to his mistakes and becomes good friends with Mario and the gang and gets invited to parties and karting tournaments and sports matches along with the others. This placement of it also gives DKCR's title more meaning, as DK literally returned to his country for his next adventure.
Can that be considered as canon? Because I would love that.
I didn’t know it was debated which DK it was but ya it’s definitely Modern DK. Also if you look at the actual games he only does a villainous thing in the first game.

Cranky is actually a mouthpiece for miyamoto, as he is on record with the opinion that dkc was only as popular as it was due to its graphical innovation and move away from sprites towards prerendered models.

I like to think of Jumpman Mario as the current Mario's father:
-He wears red overalls, opposite to his son
-Where Mario has Peach, Jumpman Mario has Pauline
-He battled with Cranky Kong and his son (DK Jr.)
You're stupid. Mario is jumpman. And in the Mario games up to super Mario bros 2 and the super Mario bros 2 poster, Mario had a sweater and overalls like in donkey kong.
The Mario movie finally gave us Mario's father, Gillespie but a guy playing a Jumpman arcade in the movie looks the part of Jumpman.
Ya no it’s been stated multiple times that Mario is Jumpman. The only thing that has changed is that Nintendo retconned DK jr to be a lot older than he was suppose to be.

I was expecting an explanation on tiny Kong’s growth spurt but you put barrel blast before 64 so I guess tiny was shrank herself to be as tall as Dixie cuz she called in sick that day

I think after all the attacks of the kremlings, the kongs were tired, so they go to another island very far from the original, that will also explain why the kremlings don't appear again

Donkey Kong Jr leaved and didnt die in my theory. In the new Super Mario Oddesey we hear a voice who welcomed all to the festival, and in the end of the pixelated level we meet a DK monkey. In the end did Mario capture Bowser and both Bowser and Princess Peach went inside the pixelated pipe, so enyone could go inside the pixelated pipe like... Donkey Kong Jr, and may also been the voice I talked about earlier. Think about that!

I first subscribed this channel hoping for the Pokémon anime timeline part 2. Was disappointed when it was taken down, but this channel has release great content that more than made up for it. Great job on the timeline.
Thank you. We tried, and I lost well over 100 USD, but there was no way to get it up. It is one of our greatest disappointments and we are extremely saddened by the fact that we couldn't keep the timeline up or finish it for that matter.

I'm binging The Original 12 and their series, but because 007 and Wrecking Crew have cameos in the team up, which I treat like an Avengers/Justice League crossover, those get to join the binge, too. The world from Donkey Kong's perspective is so entertaining.
My personal headcannon is that the events of jungle beat was DK on a journey around the island to defeat regional rulers and claim the title of king of the island

And nowadays he's in his early 30's, as in Paper Mario Colorsplash it was said, that Mario was fighting Bowser for 30 years (since Partners in Time, where Mario was a toddler)
So Mario nowadays is about 32-35 years old
So all of the DK timeline must take place in a timespan of about 8-11 years
Including DK Jr. growing up, modern DK being born, modern DK growing up and Original DK becoming old Cranky
When you factor in that IRL Gorillas have a lifespan around 40 years it lines up even better, which means Cranky was around his 30s in the DK Arcade era and is in his late 40s in the DKC games(with his wife Wrinkly passing away around that same age range.)

64 should have preceded Diddy Kong Racing and Donkey Kong Barrel Blast since Tiny Kong was a kid in 64 and aged into a teenager in DKR and DKBB

Donkey Kong has incredible games, I like the characters, the donkey kong country's games are incredible 2D games with good gameplay, Donkey Kong 64 is one of my favorite games ever and the spin off are really good too

HassanLechkar I always assumed it to be in the mario universe out in the mushroom ocean near many other islands in the mario universe
BTW I just found out that there's a globe in Cranky's hut in the DKC cartoon which puts the island off of the east coast of Australia.
@@Mr._Lechkar I wouldn't exactly call the cartoon canon to the games (in the same way the cheesy Mario cartoons aren't canon either), especially not after DK Island was renamed Kongo Bongo Island in said cartoon. There's no other way, DK Island has to be located somewhere on the same planet Super Mario Odyssey takes place, it cannot be located on the real world either.

Chuck Arin If you look in the manual of Donkey Kong 64 it says in a story how the current donkey kong is donkey kong jr and it even states “Donkey Kong and his Father Cranky Kong”
@@alexfcku DK Jr. isn't mentioned in the DK64 manual and Nintendo themselves says he's a different character, DK64 itself is an outlier since every other DK game (DKC, DK Land, DKC2, DKC Returns, and DKC Tropical Freeze) all state that Original DK (Cranky) is Modern DK's *Grandfather* while the "father" comment is a reference to Cranky being the one that raised him since DK Jr. wasn't there to do it himself.

I always like to think that the current DK is DK Jr. all grown up. It would explain why we don't see him as much these days.
Well going by Super Mario Kart's artwork DK Jr. already had a grown up form, combine that with Cranky being the Grandfather of Modern DK makes DK Jr. the Father. DK Jr. could be anywhere either he's on DK Island offscreen, traveling the world, got a job somewhere, or dead.

Hey, so I noticed a small mistake in the timeline. Unfortunately DK: King of Swing and Jungle Climber have to take place after DK 64. Because in DKC2 we see K. Rool's first flying contraption The Flying Krock. In DK 64 K. Rool tries to escape using the King Kruizer II. Then in DK: King of Swing we find the final world to be the King Kruizer III. Finally in Jungle Climber K. Rool uses his spaceship King Kruizer IV. So technically both DK games have to come after Donkey Kong 64. But if you have a better reason why not please explain. I am a huge fan of both the DK series and your work.

I say that DKC Returns and Tropical Freeze are prequels to the first 3 games from SNES.
Because there is no sign of the Kremlings or King K Rule. Also DK Island isn't in the shape of DK's head yet.

I'll be honest, the original Mario seems a lot less of the modern day Mario we know. Abusing apes, trying to hold them hostage to lure baby apes? That seems more like something a different Mario would do, hence why I believe the original Mario is actually modern day Mario's father. After all, if the original DK is Cranky Kong now and the modern DK is DK III, who's to say they wouldn't name the potential son of Jumpman after the father? Furthermore, where's Luigi in all this? (no, the argument that he wasn't there at the time doesn't count, nor his cowardliness)
