Saying “all commentary RUclipsrs give the same takes” feels like an odd gripe especially with the whole Colleen balinger drama. I think everyone should have the same take of “this woman did a bad thing” considering the thing she did was bad.
Fr like.. what do people want? Compared to commentary on movies and such where everyone can notice a different part.. its a ukelele song by a bad person. In the end its just about watching your favorite commentary person to watch it

Ironically, this is a very unique and clever video. Taking your anxieties about not being individual enough and making it into an entertaining video is a great idea.

i think that commentary youtube is extremely over saturated. They’re not all the same, but there’s just too many for these channels to grow. It also causes a lot of dog piling and seeing the exact same video over and over. But saji is definitely a diamond in the rough.
I mean this is just a RUclips thing though right? Like all genres are oversaturated, RUclips has too many creators and there aren't enough niches to fill that are viable careers. This is just the nature of independent artists in 2023 what can really be done
each creator brings their own thing to videos.
and you don’t have to watch all of them, you can choose what creator you want for what topic.

I also said this on nicks video, but coming from a viewer who watches every single commentary youtuber under the sun, idgaf if the content is about the same thing, I watch commentary because everyone has different personalities, different ideas, different jokes etc.

I think in some instances the “topic redundancy” of certain commentary sub-spheres is what forces the uniqueness of each individual creator. The entire community is like one large debate team. Yes, they are “debating” on the same side of a given topic but they’re bringing up different points, evidence, and arguments in different styles (whether that discrepancy from the norm is editing style, deliverance, succinctness, etc). Seeing the same topic innumerable times but with different specific takes isn’t redundancy; it’s informative in the sense that each creator, with their unique lived experiences, will bring a different consequence of the topic to the table.

there’s going to be multiple creators in each genre of youtube. whether it’s commentary, gaming, volging, etc., there are going to be multiple people. that’s why a lot of the times it seems like all commentary (or any youtubers) do the same thing because there are so many, it tends to dog pile.
i just think that thumbnails are designed to cater to the algorithm and despite being similar, commentary youtubers have different styles of editing, comedy, layouts, etc.
all commentary channels are the same. the only difference is the person making the video. they all have the same ideas, opinions, beliefs, etc. it's a boring genre that has no deviance because people like you eat it up like a little docile money pigs. it's sad, but that's just what capitalism encourages

Of all the videos to complain about lack of originality, they chose the one were everyone has the same reaction of "wow Colleen is awful" like of course people are going to have the same thoughts on the matter, what she did is terrible. Plus the thumbnails being similar makes sense because her entire video looks like that.
