To me Nightwish will always be Nightwish. Floor is great along with previous singers, but Floor has a far better stage presence and energy. When Anette joined it still felt like Nightwish, but a different feel, everyone just judged her to quickly. It will be the same with the next album, it will have a different energy to it, but It will still be Nightwish. Cry and weep about Tarja, but you can't have a new singer copy the old, they have to bring their own creativity to the album.
I really liked Tarja, but it's true that you can't just copy a singer. Annette's place is definitely not Nigthwish and I think that this was obvious. I'm happy for Floor and I'm waiting for the new album :)

I listened to them all. They all brought something different. I know a lot of people are still crying for Tarja, but her time with NW has ended, same with Anette but we can all still listen to their old work together. If you strike those two off of the list and think of who else would fit NW the best I must say Floor would have been the singer I picked. So yeah, was pretty damn excited when I read she was performing with them and when I heard the result I almost died. Kept putting Ghost Love Score and Romanticide on repeat and even though I have heard her version hundreds of times my jaw still drops every single time.

yeah, it's a shame she doesn't dance to that part anymore. I saw Nightwish live when they'd came to my town, and around that part, she leaves the stage, and doesn't come out until she sings for back vocals again. I was so sad. Still, they put up a great performance!! lol

Well, Marco joined Nightwish after first three albums and the band was without him still damn good. But yeah, he's now very much part of the band and can't be replaced.
I saw them live a few days ago and they were complete perfection. Not only was the performance hands down the greatest I've ever seen, but Floor is absolutely gorgeous, she was radiant, a true metal Goddess.

The one advantage studio versions have is mixing - if you listen to this, and then to a 2016 performance of it, you can tell that they boosted Troy's pipes in the later version. In recorded versions the band can all listen to the song over and over until they get the perfect mix, whereas live versions can only be mixed so far (see also the vocal balance on Wish I Had An Angel live vs recorded, and the solo/chorus vocals on Ghost Love Score)

I have listened to this version of the live song for a long time on spotify. Never once had I seen the video until now. I wish I had been at that concert now. All the songs from that concert are great anyway but this song looked like the band and the crowd were having a blast the entire time. Its always great to have a band that is lively and is having just as much of a good time as the audience. You can tell they love what they do, and the audience loves them for doing what they love.
Yep, when the band only performs for the audience, it's not as good as when all interested parties have incredible fun at what they do together. Nightwish with Floor is one such a great example. The band has fun, the people around have fun, amazing stuff.
At 3:57 Emppu turns off Floor's earpiece, you can see her reach behind her back to turn it back on. It's why she's not letting him out of her sight when he comes back across.
I think my favorite thing about this song (and the concert shown in general) is how much FUN the band seems to be having at this (especially Floor jumping around there).

Every person sometime regrets about something he did or didn't do during his life. Well, at the age of 40, I finally decided. I regret of discovering Nightwish about a year ago and not earlier. God I love this band. Just saw them in LA the past two nights. They played this and during the breakdown with Troy’s pipes, I grabbed my friend and we did a total Irish Jig. Thank you Nightwish for such amazing memories.
I love watching the band smile everytime Floor sings. They are just so happy!!! You could tell they were never satisfied with Anette and Tarja/Her Husband thought too highly of themselves.
I thought that Tarja would always be my favorite era of Nightwish, but listening to Floor Jansen, I think she is the voice that fits Nightwish better♥ Also is just me or Floor sounds better now that when she was on After Forever? well that's just my opinion. Plus I find impossible not to fall in love with her after listening Storytime, Ghost Love Score or THIS.
Disturbed Monster Well at the moment it's the only riff they ripped from Maiden that I know of, and it's not like the entire structure of the song is the same. Over the years lots of riffs have been repurposed by lots of bands. Iron Maiden is my favorite band, but I don't really think this is a big deal. If it was I'm sure Iron Maiden would have said something to them.

God I love this band. Just saw them in LA the past two nights. They played this and during the breakdown with Troy’s pipes, I grabbed my friend and we did a total Irish Jig. Thank you Nightwish for such amazing memories.
I love watching the band smile everytime Floor sings. They are just so happy!!! You could tell they were never satisfied with Anette and Tarja/Her Husband thought too highly of themselves.

I thought that Tarja would always be my favorite era of Nightwish, but listening to Floor Jansen, I think she is the voice that fits Nightwish better♥ Also is just me or Floor sounds better now that when she was on After Forever? well that's just my opinion.
Plus I find impossible not to fall in love with her after listening Storytime, Ghost Love Score or THIS.

Disturbed Monster Well at the moment it's the only riff they ripped from Maiden that I know of, and it's not like the entire structure of the song is the same. Over the years lots of riffs have been repurposed by lots of bands. Iron Maiden is my favorite band, but I don't really think this is a big deal. If it was I'm sure Iron Maiden would have said something to them.
