It was a big hit!! Got some over to my older Dad. He just had his upper teeth out so he is sore and hungry. I was happy to give him tacos in a soup format. He loves tacos. I added some tiny soup pasta things to give it a bit more bulk. Deeeeelishus!!

Love Taco soup! We put 2 can of Pinto Beans, 1 regular and 1 that also has Jalapeños in it! We brown our ground beef in the skillet with some chopped onions. Then we transfer that to a crock pot and add everything else to the pot. Turn the pot on high for a few hours and then low until dinner time! We serve in deep dish soup bowls with some corn tortillas like Doritos and ladle the soup! Everyone tops it off with grated cheese, sour cream and sliced black olives . DELICIOUS!!!! Thank you for all your recipes!

Getting excess grease out with paper towels is best long ago a plumber told me never drain grease in your sink, I finish taco soup in the instant pot, it tastes like you cooked it for hours never put ranch in but I’m definitely going to try that. 👍🏻

Looks like a recipe worthy of a try, my dear! I've never made this soup before but my gal of 12 years has. Hers was always on the "stewy" side, I prefer a soup. I'm investing some beef bone stock I make and keep on hand in the freezer. I'm just starting the soup. Our good friend is moving to Sedona, we should be in Phoenix before the snow flies here in northern IL... Been investing for decades for that, LOL.

This is exactly how I make my taco soup too, except I add a can of drained black beans to it as well for some extra protein and texture. So yummy! Haven’t made it this year yet, so I’m gonna have to do that soon.
I've made a chicken tortilla soup that's similar to this but I use jarred salsa in it, chicken broth, sometimes I make my own homemade Pico and put cumin. It always turns out so good.

I've always been hesitant about taco soup, but this looks really good. You can do so much with this soup!
Wonderful time of year for this soup! So versatile you can add endless extras to this. Green chillies, cayenne, salsa, cilantro, black beans, pintos, chili beans, the magic of the corn liquid with tortilla chips makes it GREAT. FAMILT loves this with lime tortilla chips & sour cream.
I make stuff like this all the time, different ingredients, but similar….but most of the time hubby won’t eat it…his loss 😂 Yours sounds AMAZING yummy!
Love Taco Soup... a lady in my church used to make it.. she taught me to use white frozen corn and I always add it just before serving so it is super fresh and crunchy.. plus it cools it down just a smidgen ... then added corn chips like fritos w all those yummy toppings you sgowed.. always learning something new Herr Cat... thanks for sharing your recipe and tips 😀 👌👌👌👌👌

I've also made something very similar to this. But I use chicken and rice and call it Spanish Chicken and Rice. Of course when you add rice it's no longer a soup. 😉 And then I add cheese. 😁

The only difference I do is to add some Velveeta to the soup. Put a square of cornbread in the bowl, ladle the soup over it. Delicious. I need to make some now that the weather has cooled.
