There are several world-class guitarists out there - male and female - but I am consistently blown away by Ana's musicality. To the point that everyone else sounds mechanical to me now. She is just unbelievably talented and she also has spectacular technique. I'm not going to fault her for doing a little PR for her tuner company - classical guitar is not exactly a big money-maker, even for the best on the planet. Sickening that a jerk-off like Kanye West is referred to a a "genius" when true musicians have a tough time paying the bills. But I digress
Tioga Fretworks haha! ...i like that you pointed out "Kanye" as such a dick! There are plenty of "true geniuses" out there to keep our interests going!!
Hi Ray, Mr. Graf has created a design and method which significantly reduces friction and backlash between the worm and gear. With most tuners, one has to tune down lower than the target pitch and then up again in order to compensate for the backlash between the worm and gear. Graf tuners are more stable, accurate, and smooth in both directions, which improves the speed, accuracy, ease, and stability.
Whether or not the string will tension in a smooth movement is primarily a matter of how it moves through the nut, and it varies between the different sets of strings. Poor precision in the tuners can lead to unprecise tuning as the tensioning comes in steps that may overtune the string, which can be quite annoying. A good tuner should be like a good gearbox: no slip and no resistance. Few cheap tuners serve both.
Oh, really? Good looking?! Funny I hadn't noticed (joking). On a serious note, she might just be my favorite classical guitar player to listen to (though I think she had more 'burn' in her a few years ago).
You know. I learn to do a lot of things for myself. I have all the tools to tune my piano. I started researching how to do it myself....nope....hiring a professional.
It isn't easy without help - though if you have a good musical ear, you could learn! Meanwhile, the professional will mean job done pretty quickly… best wishes,
pianos also don't go out of time every 30 minutes like a classical. I would gladly take a lengthy tuning session once or twice a year and never have to worry about it otherwise over guitar tuning!
I can relate to that... as an example you start to play a melody & find a particular string might be sharp or most times usually flat & you are anxious to get a brief pause in your repertoire to quickly tune the string with one quick movement of the tuner...hopefully correct! Just for your information...those Graf tuning machines on Ana's guitar are at least US$1300...sweet!
awesome precision on tuning and intonation, where I could to find this machine tuners by Graf,I would install on my classical guitar (y) my name is Billy Sam,please help me
Ana was right. I never realized the importance of tuning machine before this. Can anybody please tell me what musical piece that was played at the very beginning of the video and also the one that Ana played afterward?
Edward Hansson I can't thank you enough for taking your time to read my comment and reply it! It is great to have a person like you around here in RUclips. But what about the first piece that was played during the intro? Do you have any idea? *Gosh, i think i've asked too much..!
bobkuman7 Variation I, from Variations and Fughetta on a Theme by Antonio de Cabezon for guitar. The piece Anna plays is Bach Prelude from Lute Suite in E minor (BWM998, not 1006a). You can google it and hear it's the correct one. I play classical guitar. It sounded so good, I'm now learning it.
Jumping of the strings while tuning has nothing to do with the tuners but everything with the resistance of the strings at the nut. More expensive tuners usually have higher gear ratios which make tuning lighter.
In 20 years of playing I've never realised or heard from anyone this is such a big issue. Seriously though, this is not what's going to ruin a performance. P.S. Ever tried tuning a Cello?...that's the real pain in the "you know what"!
You have to be very particular about the tuning machines not to let your ear be blown off during tuning something that almost occured to me as an amateur guitar player.
02.50 - Sorry Jorg but you don't really understand guitar tuning. One ALWAYS must tune UP to the desired note. Never tune down from a higher pitch to the correct note - you must bypass the note going lower and then tune UP to the desired note. It's fundamental, it matters not how good the tuners are and Ms. Vidovic should have corrected you here.
I guess they "invented" a tuning machine gear-coupling without backlash. It seems like there is some additional tensioner there to put constant pressure on the gears to stay fit together. It is crazy how far long existing disciplines of worlds can be from each other. Mechanical engineer meets tuner machine designer.
She has to make a buck its no sin there probably good tuners he's a krout and there good at c&c maybe if we supported classical guitar more she wouldn't have to go through this any how good tuners are not bad to have the add doesn't say a dam thing ie are they ball barring and are the brass or bronze and what's the ratio ect that's his fault he likes to hear himself talk too much and dose he have a web sight with spects and price
Shoot I bought mine on ebay for $11 with a $5 coupon = $6 installed them myself on my $35 vintage Hohner HC-06 and I just learned how to play the Godfather theme song ...the sound is great for $6 tuners!

--cLAsic-- Zactly right! .....and he's his own favorite audience!
I like how she has so many recordings/videos like this one. Its inspiring to practice!
interpretation is what makes performers great, not acoustic setting I think. you are right though
I hear alot of people refer to Kanye as a singer. I get so confused because I thought he was a rapper.
she is so elegant and talented..
always a pleasure to see you, either playing or discussing.

It,s very important . Music is concentration and this tune machine make it more concentrated . Admire
Such a talented and beautiful woman ❤️
Ana is so gifted as a musician ........and she's not hard to look at either!
Oh, really? Good looking?! Funny I hadn't noticed (joking). On a serious note, she might just be my favorite classical guitar player to listen to (though I think she had more 'burn' in her a few years ago).
She may be the most beautiful guitarist now.
Very interesting stuff. Thanks for posting this!
That guitar sounds magnificent.
It's not because of the tuners it's a great guitar and a great player but all said if the tuners don't cost a arm and a leg ill try them next time
If only piano tuning were as straightforward as this...
You know. I learn to do a lot of things for myself. I have all the tools to tune my piano. I started researching how to do it myself....nope....hiring a professional.

OrionVirtuoso mm
If only guitar would stay in tune as long as pianos!
3:32 esse sorriso da Vidovic é perfeito!!!
The most beautiful and talented woman I have ever seen. So much love to you, Ana.

I want to remind that in Italy exist a another great artisan, Alessi Guitar Machine...great qualità....
que marca es la guitarra ??
I'd love to see her get a hold of an 8-string, fanned-fret "Brahms Guitar" by Greenfield Guitars or harp guitar.
I believe the David' Jorg is talking about is David Pace, a master Luthier.
she is so gorgeous....and talented.
So beautiful and sweet and kind and smart and talented, she has everything.
Thats for this important information
Jumping of the strings while tuning has nothing to do with the tuners but everything with the resistance of the strings at the nut. More expensive tuners usually have higher gear ratios which make tuning lighter.
Tatyana Ryzhkova is another beautiful and masterful guitarist.
I’m In love with her
What do they do that makes them different, because the feedback didnt really say anything different than what every tuner does??
I read time machines.
I read turing machines lmao
gorgeous. 😍
She is not in standard tuning is she?
I have a 7th tuning peg for her... it tunes to a 13th note.. the oe!
From 0:00 to 0:10. What's this song?
Variation I, from Variations and Fughetta on a Theme by Antonio de Cabezon
The tuners on her guitar are worth 1,265 USD, for that price they better work well hahaha. Jokes aside, they are a piece of jewellry.
100% truth
Do classical guitars not have locking tuners , most electrical guitars do.
un bel set up rapidocon le meccaniche Graf Tuners MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Não entendi nada; Ana fale espanhol que é a língua universal do violão; ou de lá guitarra.
O inglês é mais para os músicos de orquestra.
I would
i cant get past her ability to reach frets i am a tall man with large hands and have a hard time reaching like she does.
You need the tuners.........
In 20 years of playing I've never realised or heard from anyone this is such a big issue. Seriously though, this is not what's going to ruin a performance. P.S. Ever tried tuning a Cello?...that's the real pain in the "you know what"!
You need a lot of healing for your shattered soul.
try the 432 hz tuning instead of the 440=A4.... Awesome !!! great job !!!
Anna uses exactly 432 Hz?
You have to be very particular about the tuning machines not to let your ear be blown off during tuning something that almost occured to me as an amateur guitar player.
First off, when she "retuned" at 2:16, there WAS noise ... Ah well .....
Tuners are the least of your problems while learning Classical Guitar...
nice commercial
Nice talk fat like have a great day I subscribe you friend

Epi Phone
Interesting. Could you explain why it is that a guitar needs to be tuned up ? Would tuning down damage the guitar ?

i don't understand, what's so special about this tuners presented here?
I guess they "invented" a tuning machine gear-coupling without backlash. It seems like there is some additional tensioner there to put constant pressure on the gears to stay fit together.

It's an Ad....any decent tuner works fine
Shoot I bought mine on ebay for $11 with a $5 coupon = $6 installed them myself on my $35 vintage Hohner HC-06 and I just learned how to play the Godfather theme song ...the sound is great for $6 tuners!
Silly
