I just discovered Ana; and I am so happy I did. I love this beautiful; soothing, and spiritual music. She is wonderful. I live here in Texas; so I am hoping Ana will soon come to San Antonio.
What a beautiful story. I recently discovered her music and am really enjoying it. She is an amazing young lady with intense beauty and humility. Thank you for sharing.
Ana is truly a rare gem! If I had three wishes the first would be to have her as a teacher, the second would be to have her as a teacher and the third would be........ to have her as a teacher!
hi Ana..Very beautiful interviw & aptly responded with suitable demos , r.hand tremolo technique with optional fingering including ur choice Is useful to upcoming cl guitarists undoubtedly..I am also a fan of ur videos like so many around the globe which Is so pleasant to ears & soothing to eyes..Your interpretation on pieces r quite unique & enjoyable, please keep it up as always Ana..God bless u with all prospects, good health, wealth of music & peace as well..warm regards..siva..cbe..India..(
Please don't say that. What if you continue playing and you discover one day you are even better than her? I have seen it happen before. Never ever underestimate yourself.
I don't remember anymore how many times I have watched Anna play and I really admire her. A lot of thanks for the interview, it's very rare that you see Anna give one. The host is great for showing a lot of natural interest with her's music as well as her personal life.
Perhaps I was wrong but I assumed she pronounced it that way because of American (US) influence, few Americans bother to pronounce things correctly. I usually equate it to a lack of knowledge, I think Ana Vidovic (I KNOW the 'c' is a ch) is a brilliant guitarist, & even though there must be someone who could fault her, I certainly can't. Everything I've seen her play, I love, even her childhood performance. Her artistic talent is impeccable. Doviđenja!
I've been watching videos of her performances for a couple years now. This is the first interview. It's not surprising to hear that there was so much music in her family. One of my favorite things about watching her play, is the joy she seems to feel. A very musical family is one thing definitely one way that happens.
It is amazing how perfect Ana's english is in only eleven years in the United State. We are lucky to have such a smart, beautiful, kind, and amazingly talented woman in this country. Thanks for sharing your time and amazing guitar work here on you tube. And Thanks mando1man too the world would be a better place if we had more like Ana Vidovic around.
This version of yesterday is almost ridiculously beautiful...it's a case where the artistry exceeds the material. and Yesterday is already a lovely song. god she's good.....
Have a blessed Easter. Ana can reach out to her fans...like Gabriella Queveda.... it would help bc many youth are learning to play classical guitar. Would like to see ana's music be online more and more new songs
a thousands thanks for explaining you tremolo technique ! I had real problems to play Recuerdos with a 3 fingers tremolo and I thought I would never be able to play it. You give me hope I can do it. Thanks a lot. I am going to exercise this new technique !
Na ANA tudo é agradável e belo, até a voz e a presença, a elegância, o ar simpático e o sorriso e as mãos. O Abraço de Lisboa em 02.04.2020, no reino do covid19.
Ana is incredible. Like some of the others commenting; I wish she could come to somewhere near me. It has to be a hard life though as she plays all the time at hundreds of venues.
Phenomenal talent....I would love to see her record 2 or 3 CDs worth of Beatles tunes in the classical guitar style. I discovered this young lady by accident and I am just in awe of her musicianship.
Sadly, she has not. But this particular piece is arranged by Tōru Takemitsu who has done a few arrangements of Beatles songs. Also her recording of Tears in Heaven is arranged by Per-Olov Kindgren who has some more arrangements of Beatles etc.
Where can I get the music for that version of yesterday? I had the good fortune of seeing Ana live and she is one of the best players I've heard. Very sensitive touch and interpretation.
It amazing that the 2-finger technique is as successful as 3-finger. When you watch all her videos, you'll notice that she seldom uses her ring finger. With this technique you cannot avoid the repeated use of the same finger or the cross-string jump, which most guitarists avoid. I wonder if Ana does use her ring finger occasionally to avoid those awkwardness, or there is no such "taboo" for her

Que maravilha ! ... Todo um refinado talento, integrado a beleza musical. Aquela precisa aplicação,e sobre tudo o grande amor no que desempenha. É a beleza difundindo beleza.
In the tremolo she use the anular finger to lock the first string in case it sound accidentaly and maybe give some stedyness in the right hand, cool technique, she is amazing!
@Eljaywa i think you might have your finger letters mixed up. The traditional way to play tremolo is P-A-M-I (Thumb- Ring- Middle- Index) I've never heard of p-a-i-m :S that sounds ridiculously hard lol. I absolutely agree Ana is without a doubt one of the world's leading classical guitarists if not THE leading classical guitarist alive today :D
@sKarmA115 You’re quite right, I meant to write P for the base lines with A-M-I for the tremelo triplets. The way I mistakenly wrote it (A-I-M) would be ridiculously hard! And I agree with you about Ana, she is now up there with the all time greats…for me these include Segovia, Bream, Williams…. and now Vidovic!
@iaplminute The context of her language is Croatian, English is a 2nd language for her. The delay is a mental transfer from the Croatian to the English. Delays in thought or language transferrence often results in delay, delays are sometimes filled with vocalizations such as umm, or perhaps repeating phrasology much like a stutter. It is involuntary but can be overcome if working with a speech therapist.
How many languages can you master after three years? And does she need to speak perfectly your language in order to understand her music?I think you are the one in need for a therapist..
That's the most beautiful "Yesterday" i've ever heard
It's incredible, isn' it?
exactly my thoughts
Yes . She has some beautiful middle voices in there. And basslines....
I almost cried listening to it. Not sure why
Watch yiay

She is forever young and beautiful. What a nice interview....God bless y'all
Im glad she came to be part of america,we are enriched with her beauty and talent!

Ana is truly a rare gem! If I had three wishes the first would be to have her as a teacher, the second would be to have her as a teacher and the third would be........ to have her as a teacher!
The third piece Ana plays is the Bouree from JS Bach's Lute Suite No. 4 in E Major BMV 1006a

I really like her playing, her touch and tempo is amazing. I know I will never even get close to this standard.
Don't say that, it is definitely possible if you are really dedicated love the guitar and if you practice enough! You can
Please don't say that. What if you continue playing and you discover one day you are even better than her? I have seen it happen before. Never ever underestimate yourself.

You're probably right. She clearly has a good relationship with her roots and her family. :)
Ana is absolutelt amazing. What a talent! She's so inspirational.

Just saw her play Sat. night 9/21/2013 in Baltimore. The woman is fantastic. Can't wait to go to see her again.
