The 2008 suit is so fucking cool to me, I don't know why. Maybe it's because they briefly touched on the logistics of why he was changing it up for technical reasons in the film.
Ben's suit is the best. It looks like someone pulled him of a comic. It's not just a random cloth, it's really durable. Plus his cowl is great, he can turn his head, take it off without ripping it, and the head part is bulletproof even at close range.
The ending had me rolling hahahahaha NOOOOOO all the way to Khan and then Data. Just make a video loop of that for 5 hours. That would be great! Great video too
My favorite Batman/Bat suit was in The Dark Knight when Batman was in Hong Kong to kidnap Lau. When he’s standing on top of the building before he shoots the explosives and before he starts his glide. It’s honestly the perfect Batman moment. Just him looking over the City waiting to bring Justice.
+jamcalx That "Year One" stuff looks fascinating. Aronofsky is an ambitious director so it'd be nice to see him have another crack at being a comic book movie. (Well, I guess he bailed on The Wolverine... and Robocop.. but whatever.)
I love the Batfleck suit because it's not just a solid black all around. It's much more comic accurate, since Batman actually rarely wears an all black suit in the comics
I agree with your assessment completely. You think it wouldn't have taken so many movies for them to incorporate that. I also like how the emblems bigger but doesn't stand out so much. I really wish Affleck could have least did a few solo movies as Batman. It's not just suit. Ben is closer to Batmans actual size and height in the comics than any of the other actors. I also loved his Batmans fighting style the best. It showcased Batmans peak strenth which almost superhuman. I loved how he threw around and slammed thugs with ease. With all the other Batmans it was all hand to hand striking. Kinda boring if you ask me. Well, except When Keaton lifted a goon off his feet in the original delivering his iconic line. Alas, we have Pattison next. The most slightest of build Batman ever...argh S.M.H.
2008 suit is the most realistic batman suit ever made and that's whys it's my favorite. It's literally a ninja suit with a bat helmet and wings, it's totally badass. And batman is basically a legendary ninja so it makes sense.
+Don Scott ill have to disagree a bit. Sure ill agree with the actual size off batfleck and how huge he got but the actual cowl i think is what defines it. Bales just looks much more furious and angrier
Great video, extremely well-researched, and I LOVE the ending! LOL :) My favorite Batman movie (and costume) is 1989. For me, nothing else has the same magic.
I like Ben affleck's suit. It has a scary look and has an anger interpretation. Like if I'm a criminal and just saw the suit even without people in it, I would be scared.
+Minti Tang I know. Total missed opportunity. I'm going to upload a stand alone "Noooooo" montage video and I'll be sure to include young Skywalker's "Noooooooooo."
I respect that. IMO I hated how bale was too shall and the helmet on the suit was so ugly and short. But I liked the batman begins suit better. But I think Ben affleck was the best Batman and has the best Bat suit
+nick saunders yup Batman Begin's Batsuit all the way, I still like Ben's Bat suit, but I see it more of a "Terminatoh"- "Nokia brick" version of Batman XD. I am still attached to Batman Begins suit, even though it's heavy and maybe hard to move when you're in it, but it made batman looked like he really is in our reality, the sharp ear pieces makes him also look dominant and that's very first batsuit that turned the sharp pieces on his arms as a weapon
yeah that's got me abit worried, plus Zack Sniders movies seem to lack a sense of fun, hell Watch the Man From Uncle to see superman actually act like Clark Kent for god sakes lol although the trailer of that makes it look abit obnoxious when its not.
another fantastic retrospective; and doing physical versions of the Superman Costumes in the entertainment industry is a MUST. (But I am a biased Superman fan, so I cannot argue much here.)
On-Star is generally the Clooney suit, but it seems to have Val's cowl if I'm not wrong Birds of Prey was the Keaton Batsuit. Notice by the black coloring and the cowl. The Looney Tunes Batsuit was parts from the Panther and Sonar Batsuit put together. The Panther Gloves, Sonar Bodysuit ect.
I would like a superman vid. I really like your videos, out of all the news videos and research, I spend so much time on. I really enjoy seeing you in my feed bro. cant wait for new Star Trek!
Great list, I am surprised at the lack of mention of the "batman: dead end" suit. While it was not a cinematic release (like say Batman XXX *wink*), I think it was of major importance to every super hero movie made after 2000. The fan support for an 8 minute dark, adult themed superhero short showed studio executives that they were playing to the wrong audience (their return on investment was not going to be made on twelve year olds, but young adults). Apart from that, the suit featured a fully sculpted cowl that stopped at the bottom of the neck to allow full range of motion and an added wink to the comics with the actor using white contact lenses to make the eyes pupil-less along with a grey and black spandex like suit devoid of muscle sculpting, just an incredibly large actor to fill it, the shots of the cape in motion went out of the filmmaker's way to invoke comic panes without the use of CGI.
The best looking Batman suit is still the first one. The appearance of that suit is the most overwhelming of them all probably because it's based on the Bronze Age of comics from 1970's to mid 80's. And that's exactly what Batman is supposed to be, overwhelming.
***** No it isn't. Of course it was stiff because they tried to make it look as similar to the comics as possible. Like I said it was ominous and overwhelming. It didn't need to be as mobile because it's effect was psychological. The Christian Bale suit is more realistic and high-tech but is more like a Navy Seal suit than a Superhero suit. The new Batman suit worn by Ben Affleck looks amazing but is more keen to Kevin Conroy's Batman which wasn't an option when Michael Keaton took the mantle and The Dark Knight Returns suit from the comics which wasn't an official Batman but a side story. Even Bruce Thomas suit looks better than Christian Bale suit, and that is a repaint of Clooney's suit, what sets Bale aprt is his performance and the movies as a whole but not the suit and specially not the cowl which looks silly with the head detached to the neck.
Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice Batman bat suit is bullet proof to pistols and knife proof, the gauntlet and cowl have titanium in them as shown when Batman gets shot on the gauntlet multiple times by a pistol and his cowl taking 2 blank shots to the head. The cowl is also fitted with high gadgetry and a voice changer.
The Batsuit used in the Looney Toons movie is actually the Sonar suit from Batman Forever. The difference in this suit is that it's gloves and utility belt are from the Panther suit.
The prototype batsuit that was being designed for Keaton if he was in Batman Forever would have looked badass if it was finished. It would have felt like a natural evolution but a hell of a lot scarier, which would have fit right in with what I have read about what Tim Burton had planned going forward if he got to do Batman Triumphant, the movie that would have followed Batman and Robin if it was sucessful.
The BvS suit is a step in the right direction with trying to make it look more like the comic books but I would've preferred something a bit more streamlined. I get they wanted to make him look big but they could've done that without making him look so puffy. It makes him look like he has a short neck and a huge head. Something like the arkham games would've been better. The Batman Begins suit is still the best for me. He just looks like a giant gargoyle come to life in that thing. Longer thick neck, menacing scowl on the mask, longer ears but not too long, big flowing cape. He looks bulky as well but not puffy like BvS. TDK suit made him look too skinny and there was too much going on on that suit. Burton suits were alright for their time. I personally don't like Batman with short ears but I didn't let that affect my opinion on the BvS suit.
Logan Graham Batman seems to have a new suit in the justice league trailer and it looks a lot less swollen compared to the BvS suit. You can actually see his neck.
i think if the producers want to make a movie about superhero that base on the comics they should not look like in the comics because it so hard to find an actor that look like in the comics also DCEU shouldn't not make a movie base on the comics they shouldn't have a more creativity like batman begins suit storylines because what ever they try to make something look like comics book the movie always look like a cartoon
.....Carl Edward Sagan or Carl Sagan was born on Friday, 9 November 1934 - this published on Monday, 9 November 2015 - it was had been his 81st birth day
Bvs suit is my favorite and it's mainly because Batman gets to look like batman and they're not ashamed of the source material batflecks fight scene was also the best to date imo
Ben's suit is the best so far because its the first grey and black suit, and every other live action suit was mostly black with yellow/bronze highlights which got boring really fast. the begins suit was ok, and the dark knight suit had some cool things about it but it hugged his neck and cheeks too tight.
2:12 You SURE that's the Clooney suit? There's no oval chest emblem, it looks more like the large bat emblem from the sonar suit and even the abdominal muscle sculpt looks much more like the sonar suit. Seems more like a mix and match of the Clooney cowl and sonar suit all painted black to me.
On The Dark Knight suit not only is the utility belt the same as in Batman Begins but the boots as well, the only difference in the boots is that in TDK the boots are a little shorter below the knee because the armor has more padding on the knees.
The "Return To The Batcave" suit I noticed the logo was higher up than it was on West's suit during the series run and is closer to the positioning of the logo in Legends Of The Superheroes. Not to mention the actor was Jacked compared to Adam West during the time of the show being made. I am wondering if the cowl was larger on purpose since the Batgirl one appears to be too large aswell. So Affleck's is the first cinematic batsuit to have the grey bodysuit since the 66 movie. But first time seeing the grey bodysuit since the Legends Of The Superheroes in 1979(not including docos and parodies) since the 89 suit was black
Calling all comic experts, I am in need of an answer to this question: What is the in-universe reason that the original, Earth 1, pre-Crisis, 1939-1986 batsuit has a bat logo on the chest? I know that the post-Crisis reason is to be a target for crooks to shoot at the most armored part of the batsuit, but as far as I've seen, they don't explain why it's there in the original, pre-Crisis canon. Batman is shown to have a bulletproof vest in Batman #1 from 1940, but they don't say that that's the reason the suit has a bat logo on it. Anyone?
I feel like the 2008 suit takes the same realistic liberties as the mk3 iron man suit. Instead of it being a single tone cloth or rubber looking suit its designed to take a beating and makes batman look scary as all hell.
The BVS Batman suit is the best, he not wearing armor, but like a special cloth that protects him. Plus it's not all black and it has gray in it. Also, it looks like Batman pulled out the comics.
The 1989 Keaton/Burton suit is still my absolute favorite. The 2008/2012 Bale/Nolan suit is a close second.
The 2008 suit is so fucking cool to me, I don't know why. Maybe it's because they briefly touched on the logistics of why he was changing it up for technical reasons in the film.
And it fit the story really well as Thalia is able to stab Batman In TDKR because the new batsuit has bigger gaps for better articulation.
Ben's suit is the best. It looks like someone pulled him of a comic. It's not just a random cloth, it's really durable. Plus his cowl is great, he can turn his head, take it off without ripping it, and the head part is bulletproof even at close range.
Batman Begins will always be my favorite suit!
*Great job putting all these parts 1/2 and 3, brought me back to memory lane!*
The ending had me rolling hahahahaha NOOOOOO all the way to Khan and then Data. Just make a video loop of that for 5 hours. That would be great! Great video too
+Chapman Films I considered going nuts with the "Noooo" montage and have it go on for a few minutes. Maybe I should've.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo well maybe next time :)
+Chapman Films "yes!"
+Chapman Films The internet wills it.

The suit of Batman Begins is so awesome 👍
That last "NOOO" part was the most randomly funny thing I've ever seen
All the dramatic screaming at the end and Data ending it with "YES!" cracked me up! That was great!
My favorite Batman/Bat suit was in The Dark Knight when Batman was in Hong Kong to kidnap Lau. When he’s standing on top of the building before he shoots the explosives and before he starts his glide. It’s honestly the perfect Batman moment. Just him looking over the City waiting to bring Justice.
the second year one was awesome, plus you've got to love the big "NOOO!!" sequence near the end.

I love the Batfleck suit because it's not just a solid black all around. It's much more comic accurate, since Batman actually rarely wears an all black suit in the comics
Sam Rider Much needed contrast.
Shut yo bitch ass up. That suit was ugly af and Ben Affleck is like 50. And Bruce Wayne is 29 in the comics. Bale was like 31. Much more accurate

I personally like Affleck's suit the best. It's a nice modern take on the classic look.
2008 suit is my favorite. Realistic, stylish, a bit slimmer, and I love the overall design.
Ok, that end montage was a thing of beauty; just perfect
I like everyone else is screaming but Data and Joker are just acting pretty chill about it.
The Batman begins suit is my favorite.
+DeanKnight333 Me too, but I must admit I did like Affleck's Batsuit as well, and Keaton's from Batman Returns.
My fav is the dark knight suit
I really like the suit too
But the neck is horrible
And the cape looks out of place
The Batman Begins suit has an overall awesome appearance, but look at that abdomen armor. Too rigid.
@@3inchesisplenty the neck is cool cuz it looks like the neck of a panther. They actually used to call is a panther suit

TDK suit made him look too skinny and there was too much going on on that suit. Burton suits were alright for their time.
I personally don't like Batman with short ears but I didn't let that affect my opinion on the BvS suit.
TDK was sharp and modern, BvS the logo and ears were a little disappointing along with the way it looks kinda swollen

2:14 that does NOT look like the Clooney suit. That looks like the sonar suit from forever with a stealth black paint job.
The Looney Toons batman suit is the Val Kilmer sonar suit but with the belt from the panther bat suit throughout forever and painted black.

The ski mask and spelunking equipment in Batman Begins was a nod to the Mask of the Phantasm flashback
On The Dark Knight suit not only is the utility belt the same as in Batman Begins but the boots as well, the only difference in the boots is that in TDK the boots are a little shorter below the knee because the armor has more padding on the knees.

What is the in-universe reason that the original, Earth 1, pre-Crisis, 1939-1986 batsuit has a bat logo on the chest?
I know that the post-Crisis reason is to be a target for crooks to shoot at the most armored part of the batsuit, but as far as I've seen, they don't explain why it's there in the original, pre-Crisis canon.
Batman is shown to have a bulletproof vest in Batman #1 from 1940, but they don't say that that's the reason the suit has a bat logo on it.
