I’ve watched this video several times now. Without it I would not have had the courage to put a DCC Decoder in my LGB Srainz. You are a Great Help! Thanks Again.
Your welcome
Thank you for making this video. Basic information on disassembly helped me significantly.
Your welcome glad to help
Thank you for taking the time to post this . It was a big help!
Super Job. GLG from Germany Rainer
Bedankt voor de gedetailleerde uiteenzetting.
Hallo
Very fine work!

+Hesse Dirk Danke
German over complicated manufacturing, sheesh! This reminds me of taking apart and cleaning my Erma EM 1 .22 carbine.
Thank you for doing this in English
You are welcome
Thanks
I enjoyed your video and just created the LGB Trains Forever Fans Page on facebook. If you would like to post your video there feel free to do so. Keep up the great videos.
where can you get a replacement ball bearing if you lose one when opening the gearbox? Is there a size that I can just get a generic ball bearing?
I think at a hardware store .
Or a machine shop.
@@BAMBAM5476 I pulled out a ball bearing from another old engine block and measured it with a micrometer. It has a 3mm diameter for anyone else who may be wondering. A few dollars for 50 from Aliexpress.
@@richlam6356 thanks for this info
That loco is a bitch to get apart. This video is a great help. Thanks. Now all I have to do is add a receiver, decoder, speaker, and battery.
Steve Seidensticker thank you and good luck
+Rob741741 these are stil good gearboxes only old .
But if you can get a nice loco for cheap then i would not be to botherd with this.
I recently purchased an LGB 20212 with chugging sound and smoke. It ran well for a few days and it stopped all of the sudden, the front light still turns on, but the engine does not move forward. It still runs in reverse. Could this be a motor issue?
Yes there is probably a problem with the brushes being worn out.
If you put it on the track and give it forward power try to push it forward if it starts running. Then you have brush problems and need to replace them or get a new motor.
Hope you have fun with the locomotive after that.
@@BAMBAM5476 Appreciate the information.
Video is made without any preparation: words like "I don't get it", "it should come off now",... are not usefull in an istructional video.
You are right about the preparation and I thank you for your comment.
this guy has no idea what the hell he's doing. you can find proper instructions on-line.
Then go online
