One thing I do want to give the designers props for is the swoop bikes have a lot of heads/pieces that are nods to their design in shadow of the empire (were they first appeared in the Star Wars universe i believe). I do agee they feel odd in shadow collective, and fit more as like a general Mercenary for hire unit, which the game would benefit having more of (instead of shadow collective) like a weequay thug unit, gamorean bruisers, etc
The thing that finally convinced me of the game were the Swoop Biker 😂 I bought the SC box and two packs of Swoops. That's how it started for me. I love the models. I made the rest of the heads on my rebels.
The face of the Han Solo sculpt is off. The pose and coat I don’t mind (though I think he would of looked better in his standard outfit). But ya him and leia not a big fan of their minis
I think you unfairly judged the swoop bikes based on only SC, when they also represent resistance factions that the Rebels and Republic fought alongside along with Biker gangs in the universe in general (in those other regards they fit the theme perfectly). In the future they will probably be representing other factions that hire Biker gangs like the Hutt cartel or other merc factions. They also are the minis with the most customization options, so calling them the one of worst minis is kind of unfair.
I said it a couple of times, but being unfair is really the only option I had. If I had done this based on unit performance in game it would have been different, but the shadow collective has a very limited amount of minis
2:30 I completely agree. Their agile acrobatics are not represented in the models. Although their tactical way of holding the guns on the minis shooting is really cool
Im loving your videos. As a new player myself I would love to see a how-to-play video. The only ones I see seem to be old and don't include the new rules. Edit: Nvm Just saw you are working on it. Can't wait!
People who dislike Swoop Bike Riders have not played Shadows of the Empire, is like they came out directly from the swoop bike level. To me they scream classic star wars bounty hunters.
They look amazing, but I think the posing specifically does them a disservice. Honestly it's the only nitpick I could find with CIS since I love them so much...
@Wargamerofalltrades I just used different parts and posed mine differently. I wish I could send you a pic and show you how they turned out. Do you have discord?
I'm not going to agree/disagree with your choices as like you say they are your personal taste, however I have to pick you up on the Republic comment. When talking about Padme you said she's based on Clone Wars not the movies, like the other Republic characters. In my opinion she's very much based on her look from Episode 2, prior to the droid factory scenes, and getting clothing torn in the arena. The pose with the B1 gun, is pretty much taken from the arena battle, just missing the torn clothing. Also the standard Obi-Wan that comes in the core box that most Republic players have is wearing Clone Armour, he never did this in any movie. Why we get Obi-Wan armoured and Anakin not for both Legion and now Shatterpoint though is another thing?
Completely agree with every point you made about the AAT, and it really shows how good the model is when you can rapid fire so many points like that (except for getting me into the game). I do think your Cody came out of left field for me… especially with your love of tanks. The saber tank is the only one that holds a candle to the AAT for me. Also… yeah Han is a bad model. He’s one of the only units that’s even interesting for me in rebels right now, with them being in a tough spot meta wise, but oof is his model wonky. I need to see if I can find a good STL for him…
Honestly my love of Cody comes out of left field for me... Saber Tank was my favorite and then when Cody was announced I just fell in love with the model
My vote for worst model would be B1s, they look good, but the building process is really way to much, they are just si small peices that they would have benefited from swapping how they did each side in the start, bagging b1s to have legs torso and arms and head would have made building them be far less frustrating, and then the smaller force has the more build intensive models, just makes more sense
@@Wargamerofalltrades it's mostly a result of just being so small, each peice is just hard to lock in place as a result, if they used the notches for limbs it would be a great building process, but as is they are just hard to get on like you want, doubly so because of how many you can get, like if you get the battleforce box for the CIS then you get like 32 battledroids to put together or something, it's just to much for the the definition of cannon fodder
I built the battleforce box in a day, and remembered there being notches in the legs. Then again I mostly build Necrons or Bonereapers and they can be fiddly, so maybe it's just that experience showing
Prob the Mando Super Commandos, but I'm not really digging the aesthetics of the Shadow Collective overall. That Maul seriously looks like Quasimodo though.@@Wargamerofalltrades
Personally I think the adaptation of the X-34 speeder is really cool

id really like to see a video like this in a style of a tier list
I personally am not the biggest fan of Tier Lists, but I may try it out for one faction and go from there
I think the expansion upgrade for the empire with the comms guy he looks the worse not the storm troopers the other guy

Glad your excited for it! I am hoping to have it out by the end of the month, but I'll see how everything goes

Whaaaat? BX droids are siiiick. The shields are such a nice touch.
They look amazing, but I think the posing specifically does them a disservice.

After everything settles down a bit more next month I'm planning on making a community discord

I’m not a fan of the swoop bikers because I think the art on there card looks nicer then the actual models
That doesn't help them much either I agree

Just finished Bossk and it was not bad especially for an older model
I was especially surprised at it when I assembled him as well. Can't wait to paint him up

I actually like building the B-1s, but I am finding myself in a minority there

The Maul figure is hideous. His shoulders are too broad and it looks like he has no neck. Hate the completely different blades also.
To each there own, I love it. What do you think would be the best among the Shadow Collective?
