Just because very few singers have the capability to sing masterfully in that high of a register doesn't make it any less of a real register than Chest and Head Voice. That said, having that skill especially at the level of control and creativity that Mariah has is extremely impressive, but definitely not a necessary register. I mean, some of the greatest singers like Whitney and Aretha didn't have that register, but they're considered legendary vocalists.

She isn’t rly a master at anything. Shes exceptional at a lot of things but there’s someone in every register or technique that can do it better. She’s a hell of a vocalist but she was never at mariah an Whitney’s level vocally. Just slightly below.

Anything other than that, and you're risking vocal fatigue and/or damage. You wouldn't really mention that though, because last time I checked; Opera singers manipulate their tonal quality quite a bit and sing incredibly loudly, meaning that their voices could potentially become damaged and will tire with prolonged use.

Amy Lee could have gotten "tone" instead of Christina Aguilera. Her tone is always praised for how angelic, soothing, melancholic and hauntingly beautiful it sounds. Like, the mere sound of her voice, the colour of it, is like an angel's singing. But unfortunately, rock/metal artists never get included in this type of videos.

I think Maria has it all, rare whistles, an angelic voice, belts, high and low tones, a flexible voice, and the ability to go from high to low tones, and vice versa, in an instant, from beautiful singing, and many times in a real live performance, without playback!!!! I was told years ago by two vocal coaches that the whistle register is something to NEVER ATTEMPT without a professional guidance because it is something that you can do incorrectly ONE TIME you can permanently damage your vocal cords (if you tighten or strain incorrectly if my memory serves me right). However, singing without learning safely how to do so can also lead to a permanent rasp.
Its a shame that hayley williams never turns up on these videos. I understand shes not pop but she does and have an exceptional range and is def one of the best vocalists out there, hitting whistle notes, belting and hitting them real low notes

I was told years ago by two vocal coaches that the whistle register is something to NEVER ATTEMPT without a professional guidance because it is something that you can do incorrectly ONE TIME you can permanently damage your vocal cords (if you tighten or strain incorrectly if my memory serves me right). However, singing without learning safely how to do so can also lead to a permanent rasp.

Its a shame that hayley williams never turns up on these videos. I understand shes not pop but she does and have an exceptional range and is def one of the best vocalists out there, hitting whistle notes, belting and hitting them real low notes
