11:16 My flight was seen!! AA194 from Phoenix, Arizona, USA to London Heathrow!! Yes, I was on that Plane!!! Service on this flight was AMAZING!!! We were waiting for a gate at Terminal 3.
Funny enough I have flown on BA on this exact route, 2 in fact and we have never had any issues with luggage being lost, a bit damaged but not lost, and we have ALWAYS had a boarding gate, never a bus gate! 😂
Yeah, the lost luggage was just unlucky as our previous flight was delayed so not British Airways fault. But the system they have for reclaiming lost luggage at Heathrow is truly shambolic.
I can see why you don't like BA 787 economy, but I think if I ever go to UK I would personally ride BA A380, because I feel that A380 has more better economy seats
Yep, some of their 777 cabins are actually good thanks to recent refurbishments. I'm just amazed their 787s have such a dated cabin given how relatively new the aircraft is.
After seeing this (and a review of a London-Hong Kong flight on a BA A350) I’m so glad I’ve booked Cathay Pacific for my trip to Hong Kong later this year 😊
Funny thing is I'm travelling with a group early next year and one of the legs is LHR to HK half the group is flying that leg with Cathay Pacific and half BA... yep I'm in the BA half, I wouldn't mind but it was I that organized it!!!! Honestly though never been a huge fan of the 777 or the 787 think the Airbus products are much nicer
Flew HKG-LHR in May on A35K, and LHR-HKG in June on B789. Very much similar to you, I originally booked BA31 (A35K) as the return flight. But due to missed connecting flight, BA arranged me to BA27 (B789) departed 3 hours later. Worse still, the luggage was also delayed for 4 days. Since BA offered me a bulkhead seat on the return flight, it would not be fair for me to compare the seat space between two aircrafts. I agree that A35K was much better than B789 in terms of IFE and other hardware. The cabin looked much more decent in A35K. The screen size was much bigger in A35K and equipped with lots of fun games where the flight map was the only thing that B789 IFE could entertain me. Both flights were similar in terms of seat comfort, and probably due to weather difference, the HKG-LHR A35K journey was a little bit (just a little bit) bumpy while LHR-HKG B789 journey was my smoothest flight ever.
I’m travelling to doha with ba, next week in economy, I have only traveled long haul ba once in the 80s, it was a very nice experience, but seems like it’s gone downhill
Because people like yourself want to pay the cheapest price and expect the world 40000 feet in the air. It’s an airline company not an entertainment nor restaurant. You don’t expect that getting the bus or train do you
I feel like a have an IFE screen curse at this point. The last 4 flights I’ve had with IFE systems have all had IFE issues. - broken touchscreen with BA - one flight with Turkish with broken audio - another flight with Turkish where the screen didn’t even power on - a flight with Ethiopian with another broken touchscreen
I flew LHR-HKG in May and HKG-LHR in June on the A350 and specifically selected it over the B787 flights. The A350's had a much improved IFE system. Granted I flew in WTP so the I can't compare the seats directly but I was rather happy with the flights, although CX on their A350 had a more spacious seat and better food but chose BA this time as it was a few hundred quid cheaper and I've since joined BA EC so I got a good amount of tier points.
wow so they lost or damaged your bags. Was the seat recline like 3" like on united 777 or american airines. Were they strict on checked baggage? How heavy was it
I only had a small bag so can't really say how strict they are on baggage allowance. Not entirely sure what the exact seat recline was but it wasn't great. Maybe 3 or 4 inches.
Can I just say that it might differ since the crew could be different and I feel like your just being bias of labelling the 787-9 to hong kong from london is just bad(no offence)
Well, I would say British Airways 787-9 is bad specifically compared to most of their other planes. The cabin is outdated with small screens. Compared to the newer A350s and older but retrofitted 777s it’s just bad.
I had a similar 787 experience earlier this year traveling to Nashville. Delayed due to broken plane issue, armrest broken and we had to wrap blankets around to at least lean on it. Wires were hanging out and metal was sharp. USB didn't work on and seat in our row. Screen had poor touch sensitivity. Food ... well, poor at best. NO! I WON'T FLY AGAIN.
I m glad u get to fly with BA, they must doing something right in some way cause people still use them. I try to book to usa with connections it’s AA comes up no BA first leg. I did flown with them 2019 from Lgw to Fll was good flight on 777 then return from Chicago on 747 awesome . Anyway thanks for sharing
Ouch, bit of a disaster there from BA. In all fairness they got you home on a flight 10minutes later, but I'm sorry you ended up in a middle seat. The aircraft is in a terrible state considering it's age and your seat had lots of defects. Will give them credit for the breakfast, for a second meal on a longhaul flight it's decent compared to what many airlines serve these days. I'll definitely book Cathay Pacific for travel between Hong Kong and London!
My flight from Tokyo was as bad as yours. 14hrs 30 flight and mostly daytime for those of us on Japan time - TV screens broken, one meal after take off and then nothing offered or available for the next 8hrs before a small hot meal 13hrs into the flight. Avoid BA on these long flights or just fly a super low cost airline at a fraction of the price. They are no longer a premium airline
Good legroom!! Meal looked OK to me. In Europe they only serve water and a horrible Kellog rice crispy think. Have to purchase. Compared to United or American it looked fabulous.
He’s an airline reviewer reviewing a terrible flight experience - when you fly a lot you can notice how bad some airlines are with their offerings and experience vs what you pay
Well funny when things are broken, it takes time to get them fixed resulting in delays and then we all moan about that also , at the end of the day you pay to go from A-Z and anything else is extra (complimentary) just saying 😂. Miss the good old days where flying wasn’t for the masses like it is today so let’s not complain about a screen not working there are far worse things people have to complain about
While I don't choose to fly BA anymore due to many issues (alot of which you cover here) it does have to be said their one slightly redeeming feature has always been a good breakfast 😆 Never had a bad one though I did notice you didn't get any croissants?!
I would never, EVER fly Economy on such a long flight if I could afford a Prem Economy or Biz Class seat - and certainly not with BA! I’m off on holiday to Japan in Nov and am flying there and back from LHR with Turkish Airlines who are way better and far cheaper.
I used to travel extensively with my job and I would never recommend BA or QANTAS for international travel. Rude and arrogant comes to mind with ground staff and some cabin crew.
Agreed. This was the first time I've flown long haul with them in about 6 years and now I'll probably avoid them for another 6 years. Haven't flown Qantas but have heard they've nose-dived since Covid
With the capacity back to full and will increase compare to pre pandemic... maybe Heathrow should think to upgrade and re-open terminal 1? Plus.... BA flight is rarely good or passable nowadays.... I wonder where those UK posh and classy attitude gone with their flag carrier.
Really they need to build a third runway and terminal 6. But that won't ever happen at the rate things are going. BA's main terminal 5 is also completely overcrowded everytime I've been there.
Hooo MR I use to work at Manchester airport when BA was supposed to be the flag ship airline Back then and I’m talking over 20 years ago The them British midland airline was better Sadly no more But BA are not what they use to be sadly 😢 Hope you have a better flight next time 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
BA is a joke of an airline and im british. I think they are the only airline to have a 2 4 2 configuration in business! I know they are changing but damn BA is a sh*t show.
Luckily their new Business cabin is 1-2-1 but it seems most aircraft still have the terrible 2-4-2. I remember I first used that seat about 15 years ago and it originally released in 2006, crazy that they still have it now.
BA recently announced they're spending £7bn to "make the airline less sh*t". So hopefully in a few years they might actually be good. I hope so anyway, as often they're still the easiest option for me when flying out of London.

Flying this route today. Flown it twice every year since 2012, never had any issues.

It’s the exact same seat
@@fasttrack2612Yep, although the A380 is slightly more comfortable to be on
In fact watching that for work related purposes I've recommended you are denied boarding on future BA Flights
Right, well good luck with that…
@@freddiesflightreviews I work for BA customer liason so no need to wish me luck
Flew on the 777-200ER from jfk to gatwick it was way better seat and newer ife

Is your flight to London 50 to 75% full and how many hours did you sleep on the plane?
It was pretty much 100% full and I probably got 6 hours of sleep
Wow, I see. Thanks.

Thanks for watching! I find British Airways are easily the most inconsistant airline I've flown with.
Terrible service for a national carrier
Indeed, definitely flying Cathay Pacific next time. It's a shame because British Airways can be great. They're just super inconsistent.
Oh gosh. So BA again stands for bloody awful
787 looks very cramped

It was left behind in Hong Kong, just like how British Airways left my bag behind 😿
