The fg2 is the best Civic.. It was north American Car of the Year and motor trend car of the year... 30 plus cars competed out of 12 judges 10 chose the 8th gen ♥
As a 29 year old who's never owned (and still drives) anything other than my first car (08 Si 4-door) I can attest to a lot of this being true. Everything is accessible and usable, everything is spacious without being cavernous on the interior and nothing failed me except for the A/C compressor I pulled a shim out of @ 100k-ish miles just to stretch it to 108k. If the only major repair I have to do to a 21k car is a 1k compressor replacement over a decade and a half then I'm one happy camper. I wouldn't trade the 8th gen civics for anything.
Got a 2011 si sedan back in September with 142k miles the interior is in excellent condition no paint issues but the fun factor is legit that vtec sings and pulls well decent on gas very reliable so far I recommend
9th gen owner here, and I wish I could afford all the different gen Si's. I love this car, I'm an "Si" guy and my next car will be another Si. Either a old Fg2 or a new 18' coupe in pearl white. Every gen has pros and cons imo. It's not the perfect car.. But it almost is.
Good review!... I just wish it had more exterior aftermarket support, it don’t since it wasn’t really made in Japan like the Dc5. You should review a DC5 next though.
Is there a front right wheel blindspot when turning on a hill? I drove a 08 es350 and that is big issue. Also is it hard to look out with that very slanted windshield? Traffic lights.
In my opinion the 9th gen shifts smoother, I love my 8th gen si to death but as far as shifting I’ll give it to my wife’s 9th gen si, I have yet to drive the 10th gen tho, at first I hated them, but now it’s like....meh 😏 I do enjoy my 8k red line lol
Wow, insurance rates are terribly high! I've had Allstate and currently have USAA - both are approximately $275 for approximately $275, including comprehensive.
Men that’s one thing I hate of USA those fucking ensurance company’s. Here in PR you only pay $195 only ones a year for ensurance but if you want a full cover yo pay maybe around 300 close to 400 but ones a year but the states?? Naa men its to much
Honda is also known for making shit transmissions like the CL type s automatic and the craptastic Honda Odyessy transmission of the early 2000’s Don’t forget some of the transmissions in the early TLs and accords.. they were just as horrible as the CLs because some of the cars used the same damn transmissions. Buttery smooth they are not.
@@jp554731 who cares man, still alot better than others transmissions that are out there, consider changing your mtf every once and a while and it's not an issue, people seem to think trans fluid is for life...
There's something wonderful about the 8th generation it has a soul from the steering to the chassis that double Wishbone suspension is a must the new Civic don't have the same sound or precise steering and they don't look as good as the 8th generation Coupe
Got me a 2008 Si Sedan back in December (2019). Funnest car I've ever owned.

Awesome video guys! We need more people like you reviewing cars
i have this same car and have been driving it for a couple of months now and i absolutely love it.
The SI is definitely an impressive car
Thinking about buying this car, if all goes well, should be my first car
If I took a shot for every time you said "Buttery", I'd be dead.
Hey guys awesome review! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Gotta love our Hondas! :)
8th gen si’s are the best si’s ever made, best daily/weekend car

love my fa5 cuz I can take people in my car with no problems, 4 doors helps a lot while cracking vtec 😺
Great review btw, liked 👍
Love the sound of the 2 liter

I wasn't a huge honda fan but I did know they was reliable and overall a great car I became a big fan when i got my acura tsx
I put my 07 civic si on my dads insurance. I’m 22, no accidents or tickets. I pay $48.13 in insurance thankfully!
Aye finally someone local. Nice video
love this review
Hands down the 6th gen SiR is the best! I currently have a 09 Si as well.
TechnoFreak 6ths gens are where it’s at. But I’m looking to get a 09 Si
How many miles
Made for ppl in their mid 20's?? 😂 I am in my high 40's and loving my Fa5!! ❤
You and I, both! 😊
i have an '06 fd2 pearl white mica and i really love it

Great quality video man
I just got a 8th gen si from a evo X .. no lie I think I have more fun in the si even though i have half the power I had in the Evo!
I definitely want an evo x along with my fg2.
I wish my transmission was buttery smooth, but it grinds in third. rip
Get new transmission fluid

Commenting again and I recently found out that these models are overrated they make about 180 to the wheels Which is about 220 to the crank
Just got a 9th gen love it
I JUST BOUGHT THE EXACT SAME CAR I LOVE IT .ALL I HAVE DONE TO IT IS AFTER MARKET AIR INTAKE & EXHAUST & IT'S GETTING LOWERED NEXT WEEKEND. ..
I have a 2002 honda accord and my 5 speed is buttery smooth
Cool vid!
I got my fg2 today 2006 179k miles for 3.5k!
In my country you get this car for 12k LOL sht taxes!!!
Where can i find that bumper with the fog lights?
Junk yard

Once you get a good amount of miles on it , you will notice the GRIND
Still love my FG2
LA VTEC here
Buttery until you get the 3rd and 2nd gear grind. And PCV valves like to go sometimes. Although i do love mine except i took the decals off the side.
Honda are go carts
Insurance was lower for my 2006 zx6r
CHANGING YOUR SPARK PLUGS IS NOT THAT EASY ...
Bolt on for bolt on the 10th gen will wreck the 8th or 9th gen. But it will never feel the same as the NA vtec high revving engines as before.
transmission on this is inconsistent
arttime timeart bet
Anybody is the 300,000 miles yet?
Do a car review on mines
Those tires suck.
Shit I got mine at 19
Firsttttt
