Thanks a lot! Just don't rush into it. I went through quite a few trashed ones until I found a clean example. Clean (no accidents) and stock is what you're looking for ;) Just be patient.
Tempting, for sure. But if you're looking for a long-term vehicle, going clean and paying a couple grand more will pay off and be worth it. These cars go on forever, and if you get a clean one (no accidents and well taken care of), you can be confident that you'll drive it into the ground 200,000kms later.
Hahahaha dude, what a great video. Long time I didn't watch an informative and hilarious video at the same time. I wish you the best! Greetings from Tijuana. (:
I was lucky enough to have an 08 g37s as my first manual but it's at the end of it's life and I need something a little cheaper but still want to have fun in my car so I'm currently looking at a 2013 Si, great video!
A clean Civic Si will be chear to run/maintain and will be bulletproof. And the gas mileage is still very reasonable. Just find the cleanest one you can and you'll be as happy as a clam ;)
Interesting. So you must be in Canada, because in researching these cars I have found that the US market FG4's have the base-model HVAC controls while the Canadian market, where these were made, got the more upscale HVAC interface, the one with the little LED readout. It's weird because you would think the highest-trim Civic would have gotten the nicer interface even in the US. My FG3 has the nice one, and my FG4 has the one with just knobs and buttons. My guess was that Canadian Si's were given the upmarket one because that's the one that's wired for heated seats, which the American cars didn't get. I actually like the base controls because it allows you to control the temperature without having to turn the fan on. They also removed the AUX input by the time the '14's were released and replaced it with.....an HDMI input, of all things. Wish I had an AUX input
Question can You put the screen form Your phone on the 2 din ? and can You get it off and exchange with another radio? looks like its an add not build in but maybe I am wrong? :)
Should of kept it. I love my 2014 si coupe; I bought it 5 months ago. I added led headlights and oem Honda ignition coils and spark plugsZ it drives brand new now.
I’m taking care of mine and keep it stock as it’s fast enough for my likings. I imagine keep it stock and never wringer driving it, the value of this car will increase in time. I could see this being collectible like the S2000z
I would definitely disagree with you about being anywhere near the S2000 collectible appeal. It is very mass produced and very commonly found. The opposite of rare or collectible. But they do hold their values quite well on the used market if unmodified, clean title and rust free.
Maybe but the 9th gen is amazing and parts are always going to be around. Honda scrapped the 10th gen long time ago and parts aren’t even there and I doubt the demand for aftermarket to be made is going to be huge. The days of getting natural non turbo engines is a rarity. My 2000 Xj I bought 6 years ago has jumped way beyond what i paid. I see clean stock ones going for $16,000 US. The si will surely climb in value in my eyes anyway.
I think it will take some time for the 9th gen to climb up there in value. But it's very likely that the naturally aspirated K24 is more reliable than the 10th gen 1.5L.
I bought my 15 sedan at a Toyota dealer and stalled also as I was pulling out 😂. I would also say the 10th gen could suffer from head gasket issues. No reason for a turbo to make same power and possibly have coolant mixture issues. Only thing I don’t like about the ninth GEN is the nervous twitchy steering feel
I guess the washer fluid warning takes priority cause you dont top it off oftern ..where as gasoline is a regular fill up 🤔...so make sense when it goes that way
You don't want a 1.5 turbo, Honda R&D new model kept blowing up engines or had a huge miss before the engine went into mass production. Honda always over engineer everything but goes in the wrong direction.
I saw you had around 144K miles on it, how does the handle still handles? Have you had any issues with the engine or maintenance due to a high millage? If you do not have it anymore, did you have any issues regarding that millage while you had the car?
I have a 126k miles on mine and still feels and drives like the first day I got it minus the wear on the clutch lol but yeah everything is still smooth
nice video... how's the ride?... thinking of getting one. trying to decide between that and a 2012 accord 4cyl. but i'm old and i also want a decent ride. ; and i've heard the accord might have a better ride.
The accord is definitely a bit more comfortable. But that's not to say that the civic is uncomfortable. Both are very good daily vehicles, with the civic si being on the sportier side, whereas the accord is focused on comfort. My gf has a 2011 Accord 4 cylinder. It's painfully slow to me, comparing with the Si. Even though they have very similar engines.
@@themockalove - i guess i'll just have to get out there and try to make an objective decision. i'll probably get swept up by the civic's boy racer charms and end up ignoring the ride...lol. thanks for the reply.
@@themockalove - probably make the move soon. my 2000 bmw has 182k on it and i'm thinking i'd better act soon. but the damn thing is still going pretty strong...lol.
@@skullduggery3377 I really can't imagine the ride being unacceptably rough for anyone. The ride quality on the 9th gen civic is very plush for this class of car. It rides much more like an accord than an 8th gen civic.
bro, I've been daily driving the same car for the past 5 years and have never had that low washer warning, just top it off... also i don't understand the complaint/blame that the you didn't know you had low fuel when your fuel screen is next to your speedometer..
I believe they're usually a universal size and any common ones should fit a wide variety of vehicles. I'd check amazon or your local hardware/automotive store or Walmart
Bro what’s your address I’m shipping you some washer fluid 😅
Yeah, You are correct, Nothing beats the naturally aspired engines, I have the same engine in my 14 Accord @ almost 200k on it. Thanks for the video!
"As far as interior goes, this pretty much has everything you would need, and if u need more you're just a spoiled piece of sh**" lmfao
Lol I laughed hard at that too hahahah!!
Everyone wants to say the 8th gen was the last true si. I'd argue these are since the turbo came after. Just got an fb6 and I love it!
They're fun and simple cars. Congrats!
@@themockalove Thank you very much!
8th gen had the last "true vtec" with the intake/exhaust cams and higher rev range. But this is the last "true NA VTEC" you can get.
i enjoyed you Video man, keep it up.

I wouldn't buy it salvaged, personally. I'd keep looking for a clean one!

Awesome video! I plan on checking out a bright red 2013 Sedan that also has the Yonaka exhaust so this video is perfect.
Good luck! Just check thoroughly. People tend to beat on these.
Gonna keep mine for yearrrrs. I’ve got a 57k miles civic si 2012 si in mint condition that I payed 8 k for before covid began :”)
That's a steal 👏👏
Damn that's a steal! Can't find that anymore now. Most 2012-2015 Si models I see now are like $12k+
