Macbook Pro base warranty - 1 year, and you gotta bring it to a shop to get it fixed. Thinkpad X1 base warranty - 3 years, and a Lenovo technician fixes it in your home. Yeah.... Go figure.
Thinkpad? Mine fell apart and all I ever did was leave it on my office desk. The screen hinges came apart and the LCD panel started to crack and leak. I was told it’s not their fault and not under warranty, when it was clearly a manufacturing issue. Even online found many people with the exact same issue.
@@homg85 I'm only mentioning the X1 carbon as it's the only real rival to the MacBook. It's their most premium laptop. ThinkPad T-series are rugged as hell too and also come with a 3 year on-site warranty. It sucks that you had issues with yours, but the majority of ThinkPad users probably agree that Thinkpads are generally really durable.
I’ve been using my x1 carbon for a year and removed my windows to use Linux for its terminal, for coding. Can you please let me know what I can use for terminal using windows. I need windows for my design work also and Linux is limited on that.

the fact that ive been using a 2012 macbook pro for almost 8 years and never experienced a single problem while my sister who has been using a 2019 macbook for less than a year cant get it to function says a lot about apple nowadays.

Fashion accessory? I use a Mac. It’s perfect. There are people who buys it just to be cool, but there’s others who buy it for creative reasons and Mac is the best for creative individuals. You get A LOT of work done on a Mac!

Yep. I did the same thing. I was exclusively Mac for years. I moved from a 15" MBP to an XPS 15. More ports, better keyboard, better GPU, more RAM and SSD, 1/2 the price. I've since ditched all of my Macs (iMac, Mac Pro) and I'm exclusively on Windows. Go figure.
windows/Microsoft learn a lot from apple. That is why capitalism / competition should always exists and basically not allow monopolies/cartels. Eventually everything improves overtime. Windows has been hard to use for most people and many of the superuser types of gestures are still there, but they have improved there admin pages and they also offer a Store that links well the Xbox/Tv you can buy games/movies/series good prices too (steam level low price sometimes). Apple Tv is shit compared to xbox and with gamepass/amazon prime you are all set. Right now we only have iPhones/iPads but macs we stopped since 4years back. Too expensive less quality - hard disk failed after 3yrs and before than LCD failed.

I feel you man. I was Macbook to macbook air to HP Envy. I love the windows ecosystem now. I love being able to quickly move screens over with Windows key + Left or right arrow. That changed my life for productivity...lol

I used to be a big Apple guy. But the innovations coming out of this company have been underwhelming in recent years (perhaps due mainly to the loss of Steve Jobs?) As a result I recently switched to a Microsoft Surface. This switch was a very pleasant surprise, I don't invision going back unless Apple really moves forward again. Apple has lost their advancements but they have not lost their high prices. No thanks.

I was never Apple guy as I used my pc desktop most, but my phone and laptop were both Apple for a long time. I think around time when ultrabooks came, macbooks were left behind pretty fast. And apple phones were becoming boring around galaxy s7 edge time. And android phone market just started booming.
Many people blame the decline of apple on the loss of Steve Jobs but it just simply isn’t the case, look at the company’s history; after the iPhone they just stopped trying to innovate to the point that they’re just one-trick magicians at this point; they have nothing new to show, but they’ll keep finding creative fun ways to pull that coin out of your ear until people stop paying to see it. Which in all honesty may not be for a long time, they have so many government contracts that they’ll probably stay competitive for a long while after the general public stops buying their crap. Ironically the iPod may have been they’re best invention that will, in the end, have the worst outcome for them.
I’m the opposite, I use to own windows and I hated it after they change the interface of it. I also had problems with the computer being too slow, or there would be something that went wrong with the computer itself. So I switch to Apple Mac and never had a problem. Some people are just biased I guess. 🤷🏻♂️
There's a good side about the existence of apple it gives other companies the soul of being warriors and challenge themselves to create something better than apple lol because the other brands they started before apple so they were in slow update for their products yes this is the power of companies challenge and I like that also appreciate it 😂

I'm an avid Macbook user, but I have to agree with a lot of the points. I don't get what Apple is doing. They're making everything inconvenient for the user. I want some regular USB ports and I want a damn SD card reader. Regular USB is NOT dead yet. I don't get why Apple thinks it's 2030 already. And for the love of God, include a damn SD card reader. I won't want to have to pull out a dongle each time. Instant wireless transfer is not here yet.

@@thisis5123 Airdrop is, if I'm not mistaken basically Bluetooth and if lucky maxes out at around 20mbs - what is OK, but if you transfer files in the gigabyte region, it can take over 10 minutes to just copy a gigabyte. If I take high res RAW photos, that whole data can accumulate to multiple gigabytes - hell my SD card is 64Gb.
I'm a student and have had a Windows laptop (Lenovo Flex 5) for ~5 years (?) and the older Macbook Air (from 2016?) for 3 years, and I can honestly say that I prefer the Lenovo a lot more. Keyboard: I haven't had any problems with the keyboard other than it being a little stiff now, but, honestly, it's still so much better than the MacBook, since the MacBook's space bar stops working for the right thumb and a few of the keys stop for a few days and then fix themselves (idk how to explain it). (I type the space bar more with my right hand, so that might be why, but I haven't had any issues with my Lenovo.) The Lenovo is a little heavier (~4-5 lbs), but I don't carry it around anywhere, so it's fine. Durability: I can only speak for the Lenovo, since I had the Mac in a case, but I've dropped the Lenovo like 5 times on the back part of the keyboard part, and it only has a few scratches. (It slipped from behind my desk onto the floor. I will say that the Mac was durable from what I've experienced, but it was in a case and my foot was there to break its fall many times so idk. A couple of problems I did have with the Lenovo: It is a little hard to open the Lenovo since there's the rubber thing around the edge, and since the hinge is a bit old by now. The MacBook I had no problems opening with, but that may have been because of the case, which I opened the Mac with. The battery life of the Lenovo is a bit shorter (at least in my experience; that might just be because I don't use the Mac that much), but it charges very quickly, so it didn't affect me that much.
durability is a clear winner, i dropped my yoga thinkpad on the concrete pavement and apart from a small dent there wasnt anything wrong with it. no changes to the reliability just an aesthetic change but who tf cares abt how your laptop looks like when theres people with rbg bs

This morning, when I opened my 2017 13 inch macbook pro, the screen turned into pink and black but nothing. I went to the service center and it was said the screen must be replaced for about $560. I was disappointed since it is only about 2 years old. Now I am thinking buying a new laptop instead of fixing it

I got the same issue with my 13 inch macbook pro 2017, earlier in that day the screen was functioning just fine. I gently placed it on my desk and went to eat lunch and when i came back there was this thick vertical line on my screen. I took the computer to a service centre and they said that the entire screen needed to be replaced. Costing 40 euro.
I got this issue with my mac book pro 2017 13 inch this morning. Costing 600$ . It is only about 2 years old (2018-2020). I have to replace that LCD. Good bye mac, I will buy windows laptop.
Also happened to me when traveling from my class to get lunch in my backpack. Opened it up and there was a purple line on the right side of my screen. Had to pay $600~ to replace the whole screen. Absolutely regret purchasing it
@@chanbeompark7724 YOU can't do anything with it. I do 99% of everything with it. The only thing I use Winblows for is gaming. Been using Linux for 99% of everything I do for 9 years. You don't have to use one OS, you can Dual boot.

Bad durability really? I have a Mac Pro early 2009, it still serving me also I had a 2009 MacBook Pro which I used till January 2020. They were all working properly, in case of durability I disagree but rest rest may be true for some peoples.

When new version came and I saw they got rid of ports MagSafe I bought 13 inch MacBook Pro 2015. Boom! Just like that. Im happy so far. Ive been using it for 2 years. Maybe someday I will go back to Windows, because it is true, it changed.
Surface Laptop is awesome. The problem with MS is that it's too US-centric. Their devices are not launched everywhere or take a lot of time to do it (unlike Apple). I'd love to buy a Surface Pro or a Surface Laptop but I'd need to import it and I don't like to do that for such an expensive device, so I went for a different Windows convertible.
I have a 2013 Retina and my next laptop will likely be a Thinkpad or something from System76. Apple's no longer a level of quality I want for the money I'd be spending.

Dude, I *just switched* from my beloved 2011 17" MacBook to a new one. I didn't want to (because I loved the old one so much and it had served me for so long without any problems), but the transition was the smoothest I've ever had. Loving and rocking the new 15". No regrets.
If someone wants to stick to their old macbooks be prepared because the macOS updates will fuck up your system shortly. Their code will make your wifi problematic and your keyboard to have random failures. They will start as nothing and then escalate. You will easily realise that it is embedded in the software. Terrible practice by Apple, they have lost me forever with this.

Anvesh reddy I used to really hate lenovo way back then as I had one of their best (for that time) laptop and it almost exploded playing Minecraft. I’m really surprised that it became this good nowadays. So much so that I got the Y530 from them last year.
Got one last year. Had my first problem today. Called support. Absolutely no help. Looks like I'll never be able to log in anymore. Even asked if I should go in store and they said they would have you call us. Legit a circle of nothing.
I would like Apple to bring back MagSafe, but a mix of the actual version 1 connector with the attachment thing from version 2, plus a better strain relief. I also would like the old keyboard, but with the Touch ID in place of the eject/power button, as well as retain the Touch Bar, but with keys below it to point to the part of the bar above it, that also double as function keys and older MacBook hotkeys.
Windows is smooth as hell i got a 2017 Lenovo yoga 920 installed with windows 11 and man I tell you it’s so damn smooth on a 5 year old computer that I don’t even think a new laptop is worth buying
Apple sacrifices usability for aesthetics.... They think the future is less features with a sleek design, but they don't realize were still in the building features phase and the sleekness comes after the devises are advanced enough to become smaller.

Lenovo makes killer laptops. I also love the fact that you can actually order parts from Lenovo and fix these things yourself. Lenovo actually designs Thinkpads to be easy to repair.
I had an old T500 that recently broke down so I bought a new IdeaPad 300s. It's actually ridiculously good for the money and just so nice to work with. You can open it and upgrade it without any hassle. People ask me if it's a Macbook and that's just so funny because it's a third of the price and does all the things I want to do 80% as good as a Macbook.
Also switched from Macbook Pro after 14 years to ThinkPad. WOW! Things really changed in Windows. But youre right. This keyboard is a dream to type on!!!!
People who does 3D and CAD stuffs never ever considered Mac as even being on par with Windows Machines. Windows machines have always been far superior and provide much more choices to professional 3D graphics and CAD users, in terms of hardware and software.
Disagree. As late as 2012, MacBook Pro was still the best built computer and ran windows better and more stable than most PCs if you needed it. Best keyboard, best chassis, best IO. Everything that came after 2012 was so thin that practicality went out the window and it became an arms race for thinnest ever and longest ever battery life. ThinkPad Yoga totally reinvented the mobile computing experience. A convertible laptop with multi touch and a pen that fits in the laptop. That was a mobile computing revolution, and I’ve never been happier with a laptop. ThinkPad truly is the thinking man’s machine.
*Vote for my comment to make it seen please, there are important things to cover*: Keyboard isn't the single problem. There are A LOT: 1. Staingate. It's known for 7 years already and no fix yet! Yes, replacement program blah blah, but this is not a solution - new units are getting stained too, replacement is ludicrously expensive; 2. Speakers - how the heck should I call the situation when SOFTWARE CAN DESTROY YOUR SPEAKERS?! How could that even be possible? The amplifier must not be able to do that AT ALL, but it does. And replacement is the whole top cover. Srsly?!; 3. No SD reader? That's an utter nonsence! It must be there and no other answer accepted; 4. T2 instability and SSD encryption - total bs! It simply blocks you from even reinstalling the system on your own computer!; 5. Soldered in ssd. INSANE! You'll not be able even recover your data once it's failed; 6. Touchbar - a problem itself, but there's no option to get rid of that bs; 7. Overall service politics which you don't see. There are many, many ways to block you from fixing your own hardware, for instance, you can't check now which sensors are failing if they do, but failing sensor will force your 3000$+ machine to throttle to the absolute bottom and spin the coolers all the way up. And this is only a single instance! Why, WHY do we all are convinced that's normal? We must say it loudly and clearly - THAT'S UNACCEPTABLE!

After using Apple products for 18 years (PowerMac G3/G4, Mac Pro G5, Mac Pro 2006/2009/2012, Original iBook Graphite, MacBook Pro 2002/2005/2007/2008/2011/2014) I'm done. I use my machines for work, not as a fashion statement, I need machines that won't melt or fall apart the moment they leave the store. I remember when the Genius Bar wasn't an oxymoron, when they had the best customer service/support. I remember when the best user interface, Snow Leopard was awesome. But they have been become a company that makes phones and nothing else now. Give us a machine we can use in the real world, not one we have to keep in a NASA clean room. Start paying attention to the professional market again, not Instagram. Until the 2012 Mac Pro dies, I'll use it and look elsewhere when it does. On the mobile side, my X1C is a road warrior. I'm sad to say goodbye to Apple, but they changed.
Check out the Lenovo Yoga 730 15 inch, thin, light, active pen and gtx 1050 wit h8/16gb , full hd or 4k display, i5 or i7 8250u,etc for about 1000 bucks.
Two things that are making me stay with MacBook despite it giving me pains like the well known butterfly keyboard are... 1. TrackPad....the trackpad has me tethered with Mac. I have just been completely unable to find a comparable trackpad even at prices much higher than MacBooks. 2. OSX. I like that it's not too intrusive. Updates are not that frequent and I can keep working without really shutting down my laptop for months. It never crashes or fails. That is important to me. I can't keep re-initializing my workspace day in and day out just because Windows needs to restart my computer.
Once you go pointing stick, you never go back. It's kind of sad a tech RUclipsr as prominent as this guy doesn't understand the "weird" buttons are for use when you're not using the trackpad.

as a fellow macbook pro user (i use a 2018 15 inch) i can 100% say that the keyboard is the worst part of the laptop, everything else is amazing, i actually love the way it feels to type on, but the high failure rate is unacceptable. I disagree that windows is a better os (i use it on my gaming pc) and think the apple ecosystem is next to none, its the reason i switched to apple, and the reason i stay loyal!
Same. I was 11 years of Macbooks, I've bought my first Windows 10 latpop 2 years ago and have used it alongside my Macbook Pro. Every year I've sold both laptops and bought new ones, until I didn't buy a new Macbook. For the past year I was on Windows 10 only, currently on a 2018 Razer Blade Stealth 13" and I can't say I'm missing much. Only thing I really do miss is iMessage support (all my family is on iMessage) and a seemless Airpods connectivity.
You can get texts on your windows device but but imessage unfortunately apples ecosystem is powerful on the connectivity side. There is a long way off jailbreaking your iPhone (you can factory reset it after so it's normal again). But if you're not accustomed to doing that it can be annoying.

It was easier for me to simply get used to NOT having them on my laptop. All the pros outweight the cons here and I really love my Razer Blade Stealth.
I doubt it, macs are absolute trash. They have high build quality, but terrible design. Look up louis Rossman, he has a detailed explanation. Basically, Apple is making a shit sandwich (the design) but with really nice bread (the build quality), I still wouldn't buy a shit sandwich, even if it had like, the perfect bread on earth with the crust cut off.

It's ridiculous. If I didn't have that same computer, I wouldn't believe the video. It's not even a close comparison. The apple keyboard experience is Traaash, compared to the Thinkpad. It blows me away how nice the X1 is to type on.

Thinkpad? Mine fell apart and all I ever did was leave it on my office desk. The screen hinges came apart and the LCD panel started to crack and leak. I was told it’s not their fault and not under warranty, when it was clearly a manufacturing issue. Even online found many people with the exact same issue.
@@homg85 I'm only mentioning the X1 carbon as it's the only real rival to the MacBook. It's their most premium laptop. ThinkPad T-series are rugged as hell too and also come with a 3 year on-site warranty. It sucks that you had issues with yours, but the majority of ThinkPad users probably agree that Thinkpads are generally really durable.

Yep. I did the same thing. I was exclusively Mac for years. I moved from a 15" MBP to an XPS 15. More ports, better keyboard, better GPU, more RAM and SSD, 1/2 the price. I've since ditched all of my Macs (iMac, Mac Pro) and I'm exclusively on Windows. Go figure.

windows/Microsoft learn a lot from apple. That is why capitalism / competition should always exists and basically not allow monopolies/cartels. Eventually everything improves overtime. Windows has been hard to use for most people and many of the superuser types of gestures are still there, but they have improved there admin pages and they also offer a Store that links well the Xbox/Tv you can buy games/movies/series good
prices too (steam level low price sometimes). Apple Tv is shit compared to xbox and with gamepass/amazon prime you are all set. Right now we only have iPhones/iPads but macs we stopped since 4years back. Too expensive less quality - hard disk failed after 3yrs and before than LCD failed.

I was never Apple guy as I used my pc desktop most, but my phone and laptop were both Apple for a long time. I think around time when ultrabooks came, macbooks were left behind pretty fast. And apple phones were becoming boring around galaxy s7 edge time. And android phone market just started booming.
Many people blame the decline of apple on the loss of Steve Jobs but it just simply isn’t the case, look at the company’s history; after the iPhone they just stopped trying to innovate to the point that they’re just one-trick magicians at this point; they have nothing new to show, but they’ll keep finding creative fun ways to pull that coin out of your ear until people stop paying to see it. Which in all honesty may not be for a long time, they have so many government contracts that they’ll probably stay competitive for a long while after the general public stops buying their crap. Ironically the iPod may have been they’re best invention that will, in the end, have the worst outcome for them.
I’m the opposite, I use to own windows and I hated it after they change the interface of it. I also had problems with the computer being too slow, or there would be something that went wrong with the computer itself.
So I switch to Apple Mac and never had a problem. Some people are just biased I guess. 🤷🏻♂️
There's a good side about the existence of apple it gives other companies the soul of being warriors and challenge themselves to create something better than apple lol because the other brands they started before apple so they were in slow update for their products yes this is the power of companies challenge and I like that also appreciate it 😂

I'm an avid Macbook user, but I have to agree with a lot of the points. I don't get what Apple is doing. They're making everything inconvenient for the user. I want some regular USB ports and I want a damn SD card reader. Regular USB is NOT dead yet. I don't get why Apple thinks it's 2030 already. And for the love of God, include a damn SD card reader. I won't want to have to pull out a dongle each time. Instant wireless transfer is not here yet.

Airdrop is, if I'm not mistaken basically Bluetooth and if lucky maxes out at around 20mbs - what is OK, but if you transfer files in the gigabyte region, it can take over 10 minutes to just copy a gigabyte.
If I take high res RAW photos, that whole data can accumulate to multiple gigabytes - hell my SD card is 64Gb.

I'm a student and have had a Windows laptop (Lenovo Flex 5) for ~5 years (?) and the older Macbook Air (from 2016?) for 3 years, and I can honestly say that I prefer the Lenovo a lot more.
Keyboard: I haven't had any problems with the keyboard other than it being a little stiff now, but, honestly, it's still so much better than the MacBook, since the MacBook's space bar stops working for the right thumb and a few of the keys stop for a few days and then fix themselves (idk how to explain it). (I type the space bar more with my right hand, so that might be why, but I haven't had any issues with my Lenovo.) The Lenovo is a little heavier (~4-5 lbs), but I don't carry it around anywhere, so it's fine.
Durability: I can only speak for the Lenovo, since I had the Mac in a case, but I've dropped the Lenovo like 5 times on the back part of the keyboard part, and it only has a few scratches. (It slipped from behind my desk onto the floor. I will say that the Mac was durable from what I've experienced, but it was in a case and my foot was there to break its fall many times so idk.
A couple of problems I did have with the Lenovo:
It is a little hard to open the Lenovo since there's the rubber thing around the edge, and since the hinge is a bit old by now. The MacBook I had no problems opening with, but that may have been because of the case, which I opened the Mac with.
The battery life of the Lenovo is a bit shorter (at least in my experience; that might just be because I don't use the Mac that much), but it charges very quickly, so it didn't affect me that much.
durability is a clear winner, i dropped my yoga thinkpad on the concrete pavement and apart from a small dent there wasnt anything wrong with it. no changes to the reliability just an aesthetic change but who tf cares abt how your laptop looks like when theres people with rbg bs

This morning, when I opened my 2017 13 inch macbook pro, the screen turned into pink and black but nothing. I went to the service center and it was said the screen must be replaced for about $560. I got the same issue with my 13 inch macbook pro 2017, earlier in that day the screen was functioning just fine. I gently placed it on my desk and went to eat lunch and when i came back there was this thick vertical line on my screen. I took the computer to a service centre and they said that the entire screen needed to be replaced. Costing 40 euro.

i still have my 2011 MBP, but I refuse to buy a new MacBook. I got a Surface Laptop and it is my main computer now.
Surface Laptop is awesome. The problem with MS is that it's too US-centric. Their devices are not launched everywhere or take a lot of time to do it (unlike Apple). I'd love to buy a Surface Pro or a Surface Laptop but I'd need to import it and I don't like to do that for such an expensive device, so I went for a different Windows convertible.
I have a 2013 Retina and my next laptop will likely be a Thinkpad or something from System76. Apple's no longer a level of quality I want for the money I'd be spending.

Dude, I *just switched* from my beloved 2011 17" MacBook to a new one. I didn't want to (because I loved the old one so much and it had served me for so long without any problems), but the transition was the smoothest I've ever had. Loving and rocking the new 15". No regrets.
If someone wants to stick to their old macbooks be prepared because the macOS updates will fuck up your system shortly. Their code will make your wifi problematic and your keyboard to have random failures. They will start as nothing and then escalate. You will easily realise that it is embedded in the software. Terrible practice by Apple, they have lost me forever with this.

Lenovo-Keyboards are absolutely mint. And I'm a huge fan of the matte display of the Lenovo notebooks.
As well as the fact that ThinkPad are the only laptops on the market today with eraser head mice, which are great for me in cramped spaces like on most public buses where I live.

Anvesh reddy I used to really hate lenovo way back then as I had one of their best (for that time) laptop and it almost exploded playing Minecraft. I’m really surprised that it became this good nowadays. So much so that I got the Y530 from them last year.

I also would like the old keyboard, but with the Touch ID in place of the eject/power button, as well as retain the Touch Bar, but with keys below it to point to the part of the bar above it, that also double as function keys and older MacBook hotkeys.

Lenovo makes killer laptops. I also love the fact that you can actually order parts from Lenovo and fix these things yourself. Lenovo actually designs Thinkpads to be easy to repair.

I had an old T500 that recently broke down so I bought a new IdeaPad 300s. It's actually ridiculously good for the money and just so nice to work with. You can open it and upgrade it without any hassle. People ask me if it's a Macbook and that's just so funny because it's a third of the price and does all the things I want to do 80% as good as a Macbook.

People who does 3D and CAD stuffs never ever considered Mac as even being on par with Windows Machines. Windows machines have always been far superior and provide much more choices to professional 3D graphics and CAD users, in terms of hardware and software.
Disagree. As late as 2012, MacBook Pro was still the best built computer and ran windows better and more stable than most PCs if you needed it. Best keyboard, best chassis, best IO. Everything that came after 2012 was so thin that practicality went out the window and it became an arms race for thinnest ever and longest ever battery life. ThinkPad Yoga totally reinvented the mobile computing experience. A convertible laptop with multi touch and a pen that fits in the laptop. That was a mobile computing revolution, and I’ve never been happier with a laptop. ThinkPad truly is the thinking man’s machine.

Keyboard isn't the single problem. There are A LOT: 1. Staingate. It's known for 7 years already and no fix yet! Yes, replacement program blah blah, but this is not a solution - new units are getting stained too, replacement is ludicrously expensive; 2. Speakers - how the heck should I call the situation when SOFTWARE CAN DESTROY YOUR SPEAKERS?! How could that even be possible? The amplifier must not be able to do that AT ALL, but it does. And replacement is the whole top cover. Srsly?!; 3. No SD reader? That's an utter nonsence! It must be there and no other answer accepted; 4. T2 instability and SSD encryption - total bs! It simply blocks you from even reinstalling the system on your own computer!; 5. Soldered in ssd. INSANE! You'll not be able even recover your data once it's failed; 6. Touchbar - a problem itself, but there's no option to get rid of that bs; 7. Overall service politics which you don't see. There are many, many ways to block you from fixing your own hardware, for instance, you can't check now which sensors are failing if they do, but failing sensor will force your 3000$+ machine to throttle to the absolute bottom and spin the coolers all the way up. And this is only a single instance!

After using Apple products for 18 years (PowerMac G3/G4, Mac Pro G5, Mac Pro 2006/2009/2012, Original iBook Graphite, MacBook Pro 2002/2005/2007/2008/2011/2014) I'm done. I use my machines for work, not as a fashion statement, I need machines that won't melt or fall apart the moment they leave the store. I remember when the Genius Bar wasn't an oxymoron, when they had the best customer service/support. I remember when the best user interface, Snow Leopard was awesome. But they have been become a company that makes phones and nothing else now. Give us a machine we can use in the real world, not one we have to keep in a NASA clean room. Start paying attention to the professional market again, not Instagram. Until the 2012 Mac Pro dies, I'll use it and look elsewhere when it does. On the mobile side, my X1C is a road warrior. I'm sad to say goodbye to Apple, but they changed.

Two things that are making me stay with MacBook despite it giving me pains like the well known butterfly keyboard are...
1. TrackPad....the trackpad has me tethered with Mac. I have just been completely unable to find a comparable trackpad even at prices much higher than MacBooks.
2. OSX. I like that it's not too intrusive. Updates are not that frequent and I can keep working without really shutting down my laptop for months. It never crashes or fails. That is important to me. I can't keep re-initializing my workspace day in and day out just because Windows needs to restart my computer.
Once you go pointing stick, you never go back.
It's kind of sad a tech RUclipsr as prominent as this guy doesn't understand the "weird" buttons are for use when you're not using the trackpad.

as a fellow macbook pro user (i use a 2018 15 inch) i can 100% say that the keyboard is the worst part of the laptop, everything else is amazing, i actually love the way it feels to type on, but the high failure rate is unacceptable. I disagree that windows is a better os (i use it on my gaming pc) and think the apple ecosystem is next to none, its the reason i switched to apple, and the reason i stay loyal!

Same. I was 11 years of Macbooks, I've bought my first Windows 10 latpop 2 years ago and have used it alongside my Macbook Pro. Every year I've sold both laptops and bought new ones, until I didn't buy a new Macbook. For the past year I was on Windows 10 only, currently on a 2018 Razer Blade Stealth 13" and I can't say I'm missing much. Only thing I really do miss is iMessage support (all my family is on iMessage) and a seemless Airpods connectivity.
You can get texts on your windows device but but imessage unfortunately apples ecosystem is powerful on the connectivity side. There is a long way off jailbreaking your iPhone (you can factory reset it after so it's normal again). But if you're not accustomed to doing that it can be annoying.
@@xavmanisdabestest yeah, I know, I just can't be bothered enough to spend time trying to understand and/or perform jailbreak only because of imessages. It was easier for me to simply get used to NOT having them on my laptop. All the pros outweight the cons here and I really love my Razer Blade Stealth.

I doubt it, macs are absolute trash. They have high build quality, but terrible design. Look up louis Rossman, he has a detailed explanation. Basically, Apple is making a shit sandwich (the design) but with really nice bread (the build quality), I still wouldn't buy a shit sandwich, even if it had like, the perfect bread on earth with the crust cut off.
