    Pray baby has no issues with colic! My first girl (also an induction, about 9 lbs 4 oz, big head! 🙄), had colic, and her first 3 months were rough! Misery for her and us from 5 or 6 pm to midnight EVERY NIGHT! Poor her and us, new parents! Anyway, it passed, though sleeping and bedtime were difficult on and off. She's 30 now and teaches Biology! 😊 Baby #2, also big and an induction, was a good sleeper -- a big blessing!

    This is my unique take on newborns and it only lasts a couple of weeks. 1. Newborns have the the best smell! I spent hours smelling my babies. Just like an animals. 2. And this is weird until you do it. Newborns breathe differently. Instead of normal respiration, they take little puffs. If you put your cheek near their nose, you'll feel puffs.
    Yes I know very odd. But it only lasts for a few weeks. I loved! this time

    If you are near Dallas, you should look into seeing Mayte the Womb Doula for an appointment once you are 40 days postpartum (I can help you reach her if you are interested since several of the search links aren’t updated). She does closing of the hips (the hips tilt during pregnancy and it’s traditional in other countries to check to make sure they went back after baby is born to keep the pelvis healthy and help prevent bladder leaks) and puts organs back in place, including prolapses. It’s all noninvasive and she is a wealth of knowledge since she was trained in this special care from childhood. She also breaks up scar tissue and can make sure there is no scar tissue damage from your epidurals or previous c-section. I drive 2 hours to see her.

    • @karenjohnson5634
      @karenjohnson5634 2 года назад +2

      Epidural scar tissue???? I wonder if that is why I have a little bit pain in my back where my epidural went it??? It’s been 5 years and I can still feel “something” there every now and then. Maybe I’m not crazy that it’s from the epidural????

    • @gailresko8315
      @gailresko8315 2 года назад +2

      Wow never knew all that thanks for that wealth of knowledge.

    • @kristadavis2825
      @kristadavis2825 2 года назад +1

      Yes! Most of that pain is scar tissue. Mine actually spread out to my ribs and for 7 years it caused my rib to pullout of place and severe muscle tension every couple of months, despite chiropractic care. After Mayte broke the scar tissue I have had no more issues with that area, despite gardening, caring my 3 year old, and being pregnant.

    • @kristadavis2825
      @kristadavis2825 2 года назад +1

      No problem! I try to share as much as I can. My last two births were traumatic, resulting in PTSD and I like helping others. My first c-section caused traumatic scaring, which is actually one of to e reason my first VBAC attempt failed after 4 days of labor, 12 hours of pushing, and the last 9 or so of those hours his head being at the exit point. The scar tissue was on many organs and kept the left side of my uterus from fully expanding, so he stayed on the right side, and the right side scar tissue blocked his shoulder from descending. So, I had scar tissue aggressively broken in February, plus my bladder prolapse was fixed, and since getting pregnancy in April she has broken the adhesions on my uterus as it expands. All without surgery and just extreme work through the abdomen. A pelvic floor therapist will go in vaginally and check my cervix for scaring (since traumatic scars spread) and see where I have weaknesses in my pelvic floor.

    Hardest thing for a busy mom to do? Let go and let others fill in all the blanks-laundry, cleaning, reading to the kids, cooking, especially the tasks we enjoy. It's harder than you think! Your family will appreciate you letting go. Your job is to rest and watch all the tv/RUclips/screens you can, feed your sweet boy and snuggle with him. Thanks for the update. Stay well!

    Hi, honey. Don't worry- you will be back to your energetic self soon!.Right now, your rest and recovery is most important. One thing my mother told me which stuck was: when that baby sleeps, YOU sleep! I found these real words of wisdom, as unfortunately, we did not have the support system you are so lucky to have! So glad things are going well- Baby FF will settle in, too, as you know, and will fit right in as a new member of Team Firefly! And if no one told you yet, Baby looks just like Little Brother from the back! The shape of his head, those adorable little ears...so cute!! You do look tired, but very happy. God bless! Much love from CT!

You have the most beautiful eyes and smile. Greetings from Brisbane in Queensland Australia.

    Something I figured out with my third (the 32 week emergency c-section) that I wish I would've known with the first two (they were rough as well) and my multiple losses - when your body starts to aggressively glue it's self back together, have two tennis or racquet balls that you keep in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. When you feel like your back, hips, ect are getting too sore, get one out, and use it to massage your joints. It hurts like a bugger at first, but eventually it will ease the pain (subsequently it also helps with sports injuries as well).
    Keeping them cold helps with inflammation and that Metroplex heat that we all forget about until the end of July when it turns on like a blast furnace.
    Rest where you can, and breathe

    Love, love, this video. I think you look wonderful and content even though you are exhausted. Your baby boy is so precious, thank you for showing him to us at the end of the video. My youngest is in her 20's but I still have sweet memories all of those cuddly times. I remember one rainy night after I had my first baby, sitting in the rocking chair nursing her and thinking to my self that life doesn't get any sweeter than this! Makes me tear up just thinking about it now. Newborn time is such a mixture of emotions, all amazing in their own way. I wish you love, peace, happiness, and joy in all the days to come. Get lots of rest so you can heal and recover. 🥰

    "Hello, and welcome back to my channel. My name is Chana, and here, I make videos all about my life as an Orthodox Jewish homeschooling mother of FOUR!" Confession: Everytime you start your videos, I say your opening line along with you. Today, I did the same: "...homeschooling mother of three!" And, of course, caught myself - it's no longer three, it's FOUR! Old habits die hard! I am over the moon about your new arrival and am overjoyed for you and your family. Congratulations!!

    I have enjoyed ALL of your videos over the past couple of years.

    My parents, who are Orthodox & also keep kosher, do a monthly Costco haul!
    I wish you blessings on this Shabbat, and every day.
    You're amazing.
    Beautifully glowing!

      We had no family, it worked. After my 6 week leave, I had to go back to work.we worked opposite hours, we did not see too much of each other. I worked every other weekend, so it wasn’t that bad. You are so lucky to have family, we did have good friends.
      Did I miss baby’s name, or are you saving it for bris. We went to one once, for my boys I walked down to newborn nursery at the wrong time. I cried too,one of my nurse friends was going by, she calmed me down. When we went to a neighbors bris, I was trying to be late, I knew my husband would feel the pain. He did, he had to go outside at the hotel and get some air. His question to me was”why”, All I could think of was cleanliness and possibly Jesus had a bris. congrats again.💜💐✌🏻

    Thanks for the update! I remember my daughter was about a week PP came running into my room. Crying saying she was selfish for having her daughter. (Naive single mom) Hormones got the best of her. She calmed down, and my 9 year old granddaughter is awesome!

    The part of your oldest holding his newborn brother was incredibly moving and so was everything else you shared. Loved your expression at the end when you hold your baby. You are indeed very special. Terribly hot here in Rome as well like never before! 🌈💐💞

    I am so glad that you are able to take some time for yourself during this period of adjustment. When I was postpartum I made sure I took a shower every day. It always made me feel that much more "human" and ready for the day. Congratulations on the new little one, and keep making time for you.

    You are doing amazing. Wow. You are very blessed to have all of that love and support. For a future Q&A: who do your children look like, you or your husband, combo? Shalom.

    So lovely to hear from you again this week, those first few weeks post partum seem to be very much up & down as both we & our babies adjust to life & routine changes (in most cases no routine at all Yikes !) Sounds like you have a really good support network from family & friends. No rush though to get back to normal, the new born stage does not last long & like you say right now its all about survival ! xx

    Relax when you can and take care of yourself. I learned, after a surgery 18 months ago, that all of those necessary thing that I do daily can be taken over for other (for a time, at least, lol) and to let myself heal, rest, and not stress. I am so glad that you and the baby are happy & healthy, and that you have so much family support!

    So good to see you, glad you are getting some much-needed rest (watching you clean tires me out!) and glad to see little firefly again. Thanks for the info on fetch; scanned a few receipts and I'm on my way to earning points. Can't wait until your little one officially gets his name. Please take advantage of the help of family and friends, caring for 4 children will take a lot of energy. Blessings to you and your family.

    I love the community and family support that you have. Both times my husband picked baby and I at the hospital, dropped us off and told me that he needed clean shirts. This was before men got time off when they became a Daddy. Stan would have loved to be able to be there. So I am thrilled that you have so much support. From what I can see of Baby 👶, he is very cute and oh so precious. Blessing to you and your family!

    Congraulations on your new baby. I am so happy for you & your husband & that the baby is doing fine! I'm glad that you also have your Mother In Law, it's a big help for you. Many of the Asian countries, do something similar. They have a family or friend member do everything for the mother, including changing & bathing so that the mother can get the needed rest to recuperate from the labor's of childbirth. They usually stay a month or more depending on the mothers health issues. Looking forward to your next video. Congrats again.
