I tired switching the galaxy watch for a whole week and I ended up going back to my apple watch. talking to it rather than pulling my phone out is a lot better because it actually works. Apple pay works faster than samsung pay on a watch and typing using swipe is great to use but i use text to speech so it gets my messages out correctly. Only thing I do have an issue and it's just me knit picking is I wish you could have custom notifications tones or ringtones, also I wish that you could use watch speaker to play music instead of having your watch play music through your phone. The coolest feature that I enjoy the most especially when I'm at work or out and about is the walkie talkie feature. Yeah the speaker is a little low when your in a crowd but using it when you don't want to send a text is awesome to use. I hope the next generation apple watch will have a little louder speaker for when yoiur outdoors.
00:08 Am curious... your three watches are presented with the Crown at lower left and the shorter buckled band away from the Crown. As a right-hander, is this the most comfortable way for left-handed people wear a watch?
@loganmickyd The apple watch is pretty huge for fitness conveniences. Monitoring my heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and having a mapped history of my runs have been fun additional metrics to keep track of. Additionally with the 41mm size, the slimmer profile and smaller wrist footprint have made it very comfortable to wear for weight lifting. With my previous 42mm series 3, I'd get a lot of rubbing against my hand due to the wider watch shape, but this new size really hasn't had any comfort issues at all.
Thanks for the interesting post, Dion! We live in a wonderfully diverse time, where so many pros and cons can be adapted to the individual needs. I really LOVE the taptic engine and the sleep tracking on the Apple watch. This is counterbalanced by the abysmal battery life and that I basically hate the touchscreen input mostly being the only way of interaction with the watch. Using any Apple watch for sports is really tedious, as you cannot simply glance at the watch to check the progress, as the watch will go into screensaver mode while tracking. My solution is to go through your list, rate the feature for my needs and then check available smart watches for the best sweet spot. My current result is wearing a Garmin Fenix 7. It can be operated completely via buttons, has a 14+days battery life and I will live with the mediocre vibration motor and the subpar sleep tracking.
Nothing that the apple watch offers makes up for having that level of electromagnetic and rf radiation pressed against your body all day. They need to figure out an internal faraday cage or something to limit the amount of radiation pouring out of these things.
I have a Garmin vivo active 4, but I'm considering switching to an Apple Watch and I'm eyeing the SE. As I don't need the always on display being a bright spot in my peripheral vision. And my experience that wrist based blood oxygen scans with the vivoactive 4 are wildly inaccurate. I'll use a cheap finger blood oxygen scanner instead.
@firerains I've never used an Apple watch, and I don't like watches in general lol I don't really see a point to them having my phone always around to text, answer calls, and see the time. But that ultra looked really nice
Hi Johnny, the Ultra is a great watch, but it is especially the style aspect that makes me enthusiastic. Perhaps this video of mine of some weeks ago might help. ruclips.net/video/o63Cg7cbDhc/видео.html
The weirdest notification that sounds like keys jingling on my wrist is when my watch unlocks my MacBook. It literally feels and sounds like someone is jingling keys on my wrist.
Depends on the Watch, series 8 and ultra have the capability to use fast charge. It advertised something like 8 minutes of charging is another 8 hours of battery life. For the SE I really don’t know how fast it is.
Yeah that's all great but having to charge it almost every day is a serious deal breaker considering there's other awesome smartwatches out there with 6-10 day battery life.

Thanks for sharing your experience
00:08 Am curious... your three watches are presented with the Crown at lower left and the shorter buckled band away from the Crown. As a right-hander, is this the most comfortable way for left-handed people wear a watch?
Not sure, I can not speak on behalf of all left handed people, but that is the way I like to wear it this way:)
The apple watch se 2022 does have vibration on alarm clock? Because I’m deaf :D
What is the heart rate frequency on the SE 2022 model? How much time does it take from reading to reading?
Not sure, but I think 3-7 minutes. Time for reading takes around 15 secs
The Apple Watch 7 has the keyboard aswell. Just as the compass and backtrack
@loganmickyd
The apple watch is pretty huge for fitness conveniences.
Hi Mat, thanks for sharing your experience and insight. Appreciated!
Nothing that the apple watch offers makes up for having that level of electromagnetic and rf radiation pressed against your body all day. They need to figure out an internal faraday cage or something to limit the amount of radiation pouring out of these things.
Never had one, will get one some day I believe ❤
I have the series 7 and love ir
Anyways on display?
I have a Garmin vivo active 4, but I'm considering switching to an Apple Watch and I'm eyeing the SE. As I don't need the always on display being a bright spot in my peripheral vision. And my experience that wrist based blood oxygen scans with the vivoactive 4 are wildly inaccurate. I'll use a cheap finger blood oxygen scanner instead.
@firerains
I've never used an Apple watch, and I don't like watches in general lol I don't really see a point to them having my phone always around to text, answer calls, and see the time. But that ultra looked really nice
It does:)
do u think i watch ultra is a good watch to get
Hi Johnny, the Ultra is a great watch, but it is especially the style aspect that makes me enthusiastic. Perhaps this video of mine of some weeks ago might help. ruclips.net/video/o63Cg7cbDhc/видео.html
nice explanation 💯💫
Thank you
The weirdest notification that sounds like keys jingling on my wrist is when my watch unlocks my MacBook. It literally feels and sounds like someone is jingling keys on my wrist.
Also, how long does the battery take to charge and drain
Depends on the Watch, series 8 and ultra have the capability to use fast charge. It advertised something like 8 minutes of charging is another 8 hours of battery life. For the SE I really don’t know how fast it is.
Yeah that's all great but having to charge it almost every day is a serious deal breaker considering there's other awesome smartwatches out there with 6-10 day battery life.
And over priced
This is one of my biggest hesitations when considering leaving my Garmin watch, which I only charge about 1x/wk.
I love apple watch SE
My favourite feature of apple watch in medical terms like monitoring blood oxygen and Ecg.
