    We are proud new owners of a 2023 Palomino Real-Lite Hs 1803 Truck Camper. I’m sharing a complete tour of our setup on our Chevy Silverado 2500, the Torklift Tie Downs, HappiJac Lifts, how we designed our truck camper, and the interior modifications we’ve made to our truck camper. I share some upgrades we made on our Chevy Silverado’s shocks and suspension. Our truck camper also has Badlands Edition Package so I’ll go over all that as well. Enjoy this complete tour of our Palomino Truck Camper Setup.

    Nice set up! May I suggest a few things: I didn't notice if your truck had a sway bar (often an option for a 'camper package'). If not, I would suggest a Hellwig sway bar. I installed one on my 2500 and it was easy, no drilling, and took only a few hours. Helps a lot with sway attributable to the higher center of gravity going around corners. Lastly, I have a propane generator/inverter. In hindsight, I would have went with a lithium power station, like an Ecoflow. Something large enough that I could run my small A/C unit for an hour or two, coffee maker, etc. We rarely need our generator, except for short bursts to make coffee or cool the camper off a little.
    Happy travels!

      @@JeanieMarie I've watched so many of your videos! My husband and I are leaving Utah for a week long Colorado roadtrip loop next week. Mainly due to your videos I have a full itinerary of things to do in Grand Junction, Georgetown, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Canon, then on our way back we'll stop in Denver and Glenwood Springs! We're not campers but I could totally trade in our cabin for a setup like yours! Question for you, what will the weather be like next week? I've googled but just wondering your thought on what clothes to pack. Thanks for all the work you guys do to share videos!

      @JeanieMarie  Год назад

      @@thesassymom Wow! That's an AWESOME road trip! You're hitting some beautiful areas! I just looked at my Weather Bug App (install that if you don't have a weather app). Next week in Denver it will be in the 90s so you can expect hot in the Front Range (all the areas east of the Rockies - Denver, CO Springs, Pueblo, Canon). Once you move into the Mountains such as Georgetown the temps will drop. It's always colder in the Mountains. Highs will be in the 60-70s. Once you move outside the mountains to the West near Grand Junction - the temps will warm up again. So pack layers so you can easily shed clothes throughout the day. Have fun!! Again, you should definitely download a weather app so you can look at temps for each area you are going to and know how to pack. Weather Apps are great!

    Nice camper! We looked at that model last year but since we we're down sizing from a big 5th wheel we ended up with an AF990 which is suiting us well. I'd add a hose elbow fitting on that sink drain port... it will get your drainage out another 2" maybe and could be enough to keep the drain water off your truck. You could also add (if not there) a 12v plug and then get a mini 400 or 750 watt inverter from Harbor Freight to get you some extra working plugs off your battery.
    That lake is where I want to be with my truck camper! Over here in Pa/East Coast there's not as much drive up fun as out there 🤬😂

    So I'm curiousr any cons about truck campers?

    • @JeanieMarie
      @JeanieMarie  Год назад +1

      Those are some of the many reasons we didn't want a rv trailer. To us a truck camper was perfect, we basically just "haul" our tiny home in the back if our truck. And then we can still use our truck when not using the camper. Not many cons from us. 🤷‍♀️
