    I have a 2001 2500C10.6E on a 2007 RAM 3500 dually and love it. The storage is terrific and you have shown me a couple of ideas that I might incorporate. The only quibble about your walk-thru is that the bed is NOT a full queen, but an RV queen. If you are under 6'2" you won't really notice. Once you hit that height, though, you become the same length as the bed. It is the only feature of the Northern Lites series that I prefer, but have learned to curl when I sleep. I travelled solo across Canada for 30,000 km in 2014 in a 9.6 (biggest difference is wet bath vs dry bath) and am thrilled with the ease of using the toile compared to the smaller unit.

    Nice setup. I hope the two of you are still enjoying the truck camper life. I have the same truck, except I have the Dmax. If you haven’t checked or already replaced your brake lines, please do. It’s a common problem with these GM’s. I had mine blow out on me at 75 mph. Fortunately the truck that crossed into my lane went back over into his. Limped it 10.5 miles home using the transmission and emergency brake.
    Be safe and God bless.

      Just purchased a Bigfoot 2510.6.
      It is on a 1995 Ford F350 Dually with timbrens. If I want to upgrade the truck, do I need to stick with a dually in your opinion?

    • @bob_frazier
      @bob_frazier 3 года назад

      @@bigfoot2328 Hi Mark. Yes is the short answer. I added air bags and heavy leafs, adjustable shocks, and still just did not enjoy the excessive amount of roll. 19" wheels with the heavy ply tires ( with the shorter sidewalls) might have helped, but a dually would 100% be the way I would go next time. Those are fantastic campers, congratulations.

    Wow, we are so jealous of all the storage you have available to you! The storage in our truck camper is tiny compared to yours. My question is what is the payload capacity of your truck and what is the total dry weight of the camper? I worry that the truck you have will not be able to handle the weight of the camper plus 500+ pounds of your personal cargo for the long term. My wife and I love your spirit and sense of adventure. Thanks for sharing the tour of your camper. :)

    • @SMITHINIT
      @SMITHINIT  4 года назад +2

      Great question! We are actually releasing a video on that soon. The camper weighs 2500 lbs. wet, and the truck's payload is 3500 pounds. I know we are pushing it with all of our extra stuff, however, I like having a 2500 rather than a 3500 for driving around when the camper is off.

  • @pedalingthru2719
    @pedalingthru2719 Год назад +2

    The only down fall on the whole set up is that the truck is not rated to haul that much of a payload. Bigfoot recommends a 1 ton dualy for that camper. After 12 years of travels in ours we broke down this week and ordered a new f-350 dualy and a new bigfoot 10-4

    • @MSB1080

    Would you have a picture of your batteries hooked up? We have the same camper, husband took out batteries for winter. Now go to install and have. Three wires to attach (red, white, black). For the life of him he cannot remember how they were attached. Lest you think he is an idiot, he is an avionics electrical expert. But the third wire stumped him. He normally takes pictures.
