Finally someone reviewing it that is close to my height. I'm 5'11" and I was really worried about whether I could get a full range of motion, but it appears from your video by compensating with either bending or sitting on the floor or knees depending on the exercise, there seems to be more than enough range for 6' or smaller. If I was over 6', I'd be more worried. I criticized a couple of other videos who avoided answering the simple question of how tall they were when more than one person asked, but I see you did answer in the comments which goes a long way to helping people like me. I wish someone in any video would answer how many inches from the ground the top position grip would be, but I'm not as concerned now after watching your video. Well done and here is a thumbs up. I see a couple of people mentioned in multiple videos a gym pin to add weight if needed, so I may look into that option.
Tim how are the cables holding up ? Should get extra cables for the future ? Would you still get this brand of machine if you had to do it over ? .thanks
Bought mine at Costco a couple weeks ago for $1300. Really nice machine for the price. Also, those stacks are 165lbs each and you can purchase a 5lb add on plate from Inspire.
Great video! Costco has it for $1199 right now when it's $1999 on the Inspire site. I was going to get it. But a local fitness equipment store had the FT1 on sale for $2199 in-store instead of $2599. The main features it has over the FTX for the extra $600 is it comes with additional 5lb weights to add to each side, an exercise manual, a tablet holder, additional accessories (straight bar, ankle straps, 5lb Add-On weights), rotating accessory holder, and the ability to add weights. The weight shroud is nice too. But none of that is needed! Both are great trainers! I have a Total Gym Fit and a Power Rack for which I had purchased additional accessories from Amazon to use. Therefore, I don't need to come out of pocket for anything else for the FT1. The 165 lbs should be more than enough.
I recently bought for $1199 at Costco but see it’s up to $1299. That includes delivery and placement in downstairs room or garage. My son and i put together last night. Couple hours but the unboxing and moving parts to upstairs gym was half the time. Impressed so far.
Yeh, Costco is mixed blessing. Save ton on this and buy other crap you don’t need. The savings on gas right now is worth the membership. Nice review, Tim. Thanks.
I just bought this machine from Costco for 1200.. does everything I need . I use dumbbells as well but this particular machine I highly recommend.. great instructional video...
Got my Inspire fitness FTX for $500 from Costco and it was the last one in the box waited and waited and waited and finally got it for only $500 normally cost me $1400 and I saved $900. Awesome machine
Great review. Replacing my Bowflex Blaze with this. Tired of having to compromise exercises and make (possibly unsafe) alterations to the Bowflex, which I have been wearing out. Thanks
@@TheWarehouseSeries I'm thinking of getting this system or a system like it but the weight intervals stuck out to me and I was trying to figure out a way to add that little offset. Glad to hear it works. I was thinking that if it was clanging around you might be able to make some sort of insert in the center of the weight to tighten up the fit to stop it from flapping around.
Hey guy. yes Costco does have it rite now on sale for 1199.00 i just got my yesterday. Sorry that you couldn't find it there, hope you love it just as well seems like a really good home trainer 😎
I’ve owned both the FT1 and FTX. They are basically the same machine. The FT1 comes with vinyl drape shrouds to cover the weight stacks (looks cheap in my opinion), more accessories, and offers a heavier weight stack option. They have the same frame and metal thickness. You can still upgrade the weight stacks on the FTX. After you add the extra plates to each side the cable will then be too long. You have to cut the cables and then crimp them again. I did this on the FTX I used to have. For the money the FTX is the best FT on the market. Very smooth and good design.
@@TheWarehouseSeries You’re welcome👍. You made a great choice. If I could only chose one piece of equipment for a home gym, the FTX would be it. You can do an endless amount of exercises. Hope you enjoy it. God bless.
Is there any way this can double up as a lat pull down machine? I already have a wall rack I just need a functional trainer and lat pull down but don't have the space for separate cable and lat pull down
I'm thinking about buying this from Costco... But not sure it has enough weight. Trying to compare my cheap gym membership with better equipment vs this machine as well.
@@rich1958 are you just looking for different workouts to do? This hits all muscle groups but weight stacks do not have much so you're limited on increasing weight over time
Can you expand on that a little bit more? Are you sure it's not the main rod where weight stack pin goes that's ever so slightly touching the weight stack? Does it cause any resistance? Can you feel that when performing any exercise?
So it seems the more weight I add the louder it gets. It sounds like the plates sliding up and down polls. I'm pretty sure it's nothing bad because I would think there would be scratches on polls
What is the “real” minimum weight, with zero plates added. Different sources say its 15lbs, (net 7.5 lbs with the 1:2 ratio). It would be great if you could hang an actual 5 or 10 lb. plate from the upper cable and see which one moves the carriage. Or 7.5 lbs??
@@TheWarehouseSeries well I only use my prx squat rack to do bench and that's pretty Much it. I do other stuff for legs since I have 2 buldging disk on lower back.
I just bought it all at Costco for 1399, remember when it goes back on sale get a refund for the difference. Also there is an option for this to add a 50lb plate.
Thanks for the video. It’s always much appreciated when someone takes the time out to make an informative video.
You're welcome, definitely a great affordable machine.

Still great! I have thought about buying new cables. It's definitely worth it, especially because people tell me on here how cheap they get it for.
just bought this and its arriving tomorrow from Costco, it was on sale for $1199, can't beat that!
Great price! You'll be happy
The plastic covers around the weight rack probably also serve as a hand guard so hands don’t get in between the plates when being lifted.

I sincerely wish I found it for that price
It’s a 2:1 ratio. So those 10lb plates are effectively 5lbs at the handle.
Look into a GymPin. Replaces your selector pin and you can add weight to it. Whether that's a 2.5 or 5 lb increase or a 45 lb plate it handles it well
I will definitely check it out. I've been balancing plates on current pin.
Make sure you guys check Costco before anything. If it's $1,300 that is an incredible buy.
Can't get the best deals all the time.
That's a lot cheaper

Currently $300 off at Costco and well below the I spire site prices,

Great review, glad to see an average guy doing it and not some shirtless trainer LoL. I just have 1 question, are the pulleys plastic?
Yes they are
I just got one delivered with bench for $700.
I would like to know if bench is good to use as regular bench or is just for cable usage?
It's lower to ground than normal free moving bench. Try it first before buying new one
$700 is a steal. I still use this 5 days a week and love it

I’m debating on wether this machine will be tall enough for standing Tricep pulldowns. Looks like it worked out fine in the video. How tall are you?
I'm 6 ft.
Worse comes to worse you can actually kneel for these pulldowns. Can alternate with ab crunches for more utility.
@@GayleGrantDocGrant I kneel for quite a few workouts
You can get a gym pin. It’s a pin where it can hold plates like a bar would

Amazon. I believe they are 30 lbs
yep costco has these they are just out right now and they are close to 1200 bucks
I’m going to purchase from Costco when it’s back in stock after the holidays. $1299 at Costco.

Nice! Wish I knew a little earlier myself.
I wonder if you could buy some normal 2.5 and 5 pound plates and just hang them vertically on the weight selector pins?
I have some let me try
Yup, it works perfectly. Thanks
And the pin is thick so a 5lb plate isn't going to hurt it

Is this enough weight for an above average gym rat? Or do you think I’d have to get another model?

No, the step-up model FT1 has thicker metals and frame and more sturdy so there are differences. The appearance is similar.
