+M Pro As you can see I tried to make it a Christmas tree but it didn't collapse and it wasn't elegant; so I settled for teaching the truncated Christmas tree. If you really want to try, go for it... just use a sheet of printer paper and make the initial 2 slanted mountain folds converge onto the midpoint of short side. Look at the model I made at 0:03 for reference. Good luck!
Thanks and sorry for the late answer. I just didn't the whole of your feedback. So I'm going to look at 0:03 and kind of do it with your tutorial. Ok so have a good day and happy holidays! :-)
+Themagic lord389 I guess you could time each other and see how fast each run is. But I think a more interesting game is to see how many marbles you can get onto the marble run before any reach the bottom and without getting them stuck. It is all about timing. If you let the next marble onto the run too soon it will hit the marble in front of it and get stuck. You could play a game where each marble that makes it safely to the bottom is one point. You could play 5 or 10 rounds taking turns rolling as many marbles as you can safely down the slide. Then add up the points and whoever has the highest score wins. This is a game you could play by yourself or in a group. (Thanks for inspiring me to think up this game... I am going to add it to the video description.)
Jeremy please tell me how you come up with your designs!!! Do u just start randomly folding or do u know what you're gonna design before u even start? Some are such complex folds how do u come up with them on your own?
+Daniel harman I do a lot of experimentation, but I also use a lot of techniques that I've gathered and discovered over the years, like for instance, I have several pop-up card bases and mechanisms that I turn to when I'm experimenting, and several techniques to make models fly, spin, chomp, expand, etc. Also, when you have a clear form in mind that you are trying to design (e.g. alligator, guitar, office chair, etc.), then knowing how to control where on the square (or rectangle) appendages come from helps a lot.
+ArchieTheRocker Oh ya, thanks. I'll do that now. The music version is still about two hours away... that is if I can bear to stay awake that long. zzzzzzz.
