Oh my god this is such a fun model. I had divided mine into 16ths so that there were 16 zig zags and some friends and I would all put a marble at the beginning and release them at the same time to see whose got to the bottom first. It's amazing.
+The Origami Channel Glad you are inspired to make this model. Hope it goes well. I used to love mazes when I was a kid (before getting into origami) and I used to have these wooden blocks called Marble Run that you configure in different ways to form your own marble run. So making this model brings back old times for me.
Wow Jeremy that's an amazing design! You never stop to surprise me with your creativity! And you also have an designing style, because it's not just box pleating or circle packing, it goes beyond that with colour change, action origami and more things (I'm trying to learn to design origamis with the techniques you do). Now I just need to find my marbles to make my marble runner work. Saludos desde Peru :)
Hello Jeremy, and you other folks. I have been doing origami for a month now, and I wanted to ask a question to you, and your fans. How exactly do you design and make your own origami models?
+Triumph Whitehall Good question! My designs evolve and grow out of each other; each has it's own story. This particular model evolved out of trying to fold an erupting volcano with a color-change for the lava. I made it but the path of the lava went straight down the volcano. My friend, Miy'ala, encouraged me to try to make it curvy which I was sort of able to do but not very well. Then I started to imagine a mountain with a path that spiraled down around and around the mountain and it turned into a new challenge completely separate from the volcano. I managed to do it by modifying my Multiple Rippling Deltoid Design, and at first I was really happy with the result -- it looked like a marble could roll down it, but, alas, when I tried it with a marble, the inclination was not consistent and the marble would get stuck, and to make it consistent required making a complex burdensome set of precreases to create the evenly inclined spiral path (though drawing the crease pattern on the computer would have been fairly easy and clean!), so I went in yet another direction. I thought, "Well what would be an easier marble run to fold from a single paper?" and I knew by now that curved paths were out of the question! Making a zig zag marble run came to mind and that's when I set out out on the path that led to this model. And, as you can see at the beginning of the intro, it took me many rough drafts before I was satisfied with the result!
JeremyShaferOrigami I tried just folding for fun. And I got some pretty interesting things. Like a Monster Envelope. And a puppet which you can open it's robes.
!WOW!WOW!WOW! Jeremy it was just awesome!!!! It was a little hard to make but I made and enjoyed it!!!! Your designs and models are always so great and awesome!!!! Jeremy you are just aawweessoommee!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
+Aamir Abdul kareem I described in the description how came to design this model. But in short, I take past ideas and techniques and evolve them to create new models.
+Miguel Angeles Thanks for your feedback. This particular model evolved out of trying to fold an erupting volcano with a color-change for the lava. I made it but the path of the lava went straight down the volcano. My friend, Miy'ala, encouraged me to try to make it curvy which I was sort of able to do but not very well. Thank you for the info but im not saying that your model is not liked but it went of to hard for me. It got way too complicated for me. But I like the model. It's challenging and enticing I remember that you don't like to get kids confused but why are you known as jeremy the juggler in Berkeley,CA I mean you might be famous but actually don't care about fame sorry for being so direct. Let me know if I've been pushing too hard
+Julian Romero Good question! Instead of dividing the paper into 8 you have to divide it into 12. To do this you first need to divide it into thirds and then divide each third in half to get sixths and then divide each sixth in half to get twelfths. Then start creasing the zig zag valleys. Hope that helps!
+Abijith Saravanan he does not live in india so do not expect him to do a one rupee note model do not get angry...................i am an Indian too!!!
+Gokul Suresh Babu I could print fake rupees like I did in this video: ruclips.net/video/RnCwV-B1JyM/видео.html but I'll probably just keep on occasionally making models from dollars. Dollars are dimension 3X7, so to follow my dollar origami tutorials using rupee notes you need to fold the long edge in a tiny bit so that the note is 3X7... or you could cut it down to size... just kidding!
Is it me, or are Jeremy's origami designs are getting more random and random? I'm not hating, I still find them awesome, I'm just wondering if other people feel the same.
A marble maze to amaze your friends! I worked hard on this design and video! Hope you enjoy!

Thanks! I Folded Mines From A Sheet Of Origami Foil, So I Will Run Water Down It!
if this worked for 8 and 12, would this work for 16,32, or 64?
Reflet games Yes it would but you would have to use smaller marbles

+Julian Romero Good question! Instead of dividing the paper into 8 you have to divide it into 12. what do you use to catch the balls???
+Braxton Embleton It's a bell.... "Saved by the bell" ... I teach how to fold it in the video.

The End it sounds like Chris
Could you teach the blue version is more difficult?
You could make a ten Piece model it is still reliable but not as tricky as the blue one
