I'm from Japan and i barely understand English but I just wanted to thank you for putting up how to make this kind of pouch. I was having problems with making it but today I did it!!!! Thank you so much!!!
I love your video tutorials. You are a very good teacher. And I love your accent. Could listen to you talk all day!! Thank you. I have made several of your patterns.
thank you for this tutorial...I bought the pattern weeks ago and did not have the courage to try it....well, I do now. I'm a visual learner and your tutorials are so easy to understand. Thank you again. Please keep them coming :)
I have started my Della, and was struggling with the written directions. I can do this now. I am thrilled and slightly amazed at the wonderful way you explain things. Thank you so much. I love your voice and accent.
Awesome tutorial, thank you for sharing. Your a great teacher, you explained everything perfectly. I've been looking for a wallet pattern just like this one, I'm so glad you posted it. I'm looking forward to making this wallet. I enjoy your videos, keep up the great work.😀. Have a wonderful day.
now here's a thought! instead of putting the clip on the wrist strap piece, put it on the tab piece that goes on the spine and use a key ring for the wrist strap piece then you can un clip it from the bag and use it as a wrist key ring then snap it back onto the bag. I did mine that way and I find it quite convenient! I love it.
Thank you for this brilliant tutorial, I've just completed this Della wallet, following your tutorial, I don't think I could have done it without following you. I thoroughly enjoyed making it, and Yes, I did make the same mistake ie the zip ends, but was easily rectified. Thanks to swoon for a great pattern, now off to look for my next project.x hazel
Thank you for your great Video! It was a pleasure to see it. And you're right, the Frixion pens are a big help, but beware of freezing temperatures!!! The colour comes back when it's freezing! I had some issues with my icing skates I've sewn for my front door last winter...
Lisbeth thocollinge Luckily here in the Caribbean that's not something I have to worry about until the next ice age! But yes, I'd heard the same that the lines can be seen in very low temps.
Just love to make bags n wish to sell my own patterns and bags one days but more than that love the way you teach hope to see more from you in future n love your nice b professional finish
Hi, I am just wondering how long the fabric is when making it for the card slots. Love watching your tutorials on bags/purses please make more. Thank you 😀
🎄 Great Tutorial Thank You! Could you tell me whether the very long piece that forms the card slots had interfacing of some kind (probably lightweight) fused to it before you started pressing in the pocket creases? and whether the interfacing that's fused after all the sewing is a second piece? Thank you. 🎄
can you please tell us what your favorite wallet is and if there is a tutorial too it. ? I want to get a wallet pattern but will need to see how it is put together. I am a visual learner.
Excellent tutorial! Can you tell me which way you pinned the zipper tabs in the final stitch around? I tried folding it up and pinning them with the zipper teeth going up and away from the pocket and it came out oddly folded. Is this just the way it will be due to the construction of the pocket lining? Debbie
Deb Sullivan It's hard to visualise what you mean, but I think I understand. I folded with my zipper teeth pointing towards the lining when I sewed, but you do have to make sure the tabs aren't badly folded or they might not sew smoothly and you'll get a pucker when you turn.
Hi love these instructions . Love to sew this type of thing s but have a question why it' called Della ? I have had the name Della for 84 yes and never knew the meaning, Della Linehan
I'm confused with a couple things. I have a pattern piece called Pocket Panel, but none called Pleated Panel. The Pocket Panel says to cut 4, so I'm assuming they get sewed together, but nothing in the instructions on when to do this or if this becomes the Pleated Panel for the cards to fit into. Also, I have a pattern piece called Main Body Spine, but I see nothing in the instructions on when to sew that into the project. I might have missed it. Can someone who has completed this help me? Doesn't look like the author here responds to questions. Thank you.
sharada hoolageri There is a link in the description right underneath the video where you can get the wallet pattern. It's here - so-sew-easy.com/della Enjoy the sewing :-)
+Ana Vollmer Hi, They really are brilliant! They are Frixion Pens - here is a link on Amazon, but you can get them in many other places www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_3?url=search-alias%3Dcomputers&field-keywords=frixion+pens&sprefix=fix%2Ccomputers%2C145
And this is where I'm stuck, it's those darn zipper tabs. I cut them according to the pattern. And when I clip them on to check my measurements I do not have a combined total of 8.5! argh! I guess I need to cut bigger tabs. And this is not my first time doing zipper tabs.
Wonderful tutorial, Deby. My only concern with the design of this clutch is there is no way to close the center pocket. I would be concerned about credit cards falling out. Adhesive Velcro, maybe?
I had the same thought. I would want something there to make sure my credit cards couldn't slip out. Another thing that I wondered about are the magnetic snaps. I think the closures look really cute but I would more than likely stuff my wallet wth receipts, etc. It feels like to me that I would need a closure that could shrink and expand based on how full of stuff my wallet was. Having said this, I still think the pattern by Swoon is genius and so is Deby's tutorial. Really well thought out and very cute. I just might have to clean out my wallet more if I made it for myself , which is not a bad thing :)
ladies & gentleman this seems a great tutorial if you have this pattern & can't do it but you will need a pattern b4 making; this costs & so does your material buttons backing, stabilizing fabric etc makes your wallet cost a fortune unless you're making a thousand from bulk stock but that don't mean you can't design your own, now that's fun & rewarding. take appart old stuff to find out how it all goes together. the trick is to make all your peices doubled, sewn, turned inside out & ironed then you have no seams. sew two together & you have a basic wallet. Learn to use all your presser feet which helps. If you're meant to sew you will quickly figure it out. Your not learning properly from copying. All of you must have it in your lineage to make you interested in tailoring & design.

Love you videos! I always learn some new things or ways to do things better!
Good video. Thanks for making it all so clear. Will try this very soon. How long do you think it took you to actually make? Brenda
Awesome teacher, thank you for the video tutorial!
I share Carol Weber's opinion. Such a lovely voice! Clear explanation. I'm ready to sew my della wallet now :-)
Very tricky. Yours looks terrific!

Is it a daft question to ask why you don't just buy a shorter zip?
luv this instructer and page as well
i hv made this della wallet at home. so lovely. thanx
Thank you. This is my third try and because you I think I've got it right
Hell Deby, I enjoy your tutorials, but! I am a bit confuse about which stabilizer, interfacing goes where!

My fabric is thick due to my pellon interfacing. Can I still use a magnetic snap or should I use something else?

Great tutor! Beautiful hands!
