Would love measurements for the larger one!- great idea especially with a smart phone with a bulky case. You are SO cool 😎 thank you for another awesome tutorial!
Great job! Can't wait to try it. BTW, I really love your teaching style. You never talk down to anyone but talk to every sewist no matter our proficiency.
Thanks for a great video! One reason the cards are put in there like that is so they do not fall out. Your way would be easier access but also easier for the cards to fall out & get lost. Everyone will have to choose what works for them. Thank you again for your great videos!
You are such an excellent teacher. I’ve been sewing all my life but never made a purse or wallet. I’m gonna give it a go since watching you. Again! What a GREAT teaching video. 😊
Such a cute and fun wallet! I would definitely love to see a video of an enlarged version please! Thank you for all your tutorials that you do! You're amazing!
When topstitching tabs,I have found that moving the needle position to the far left and utilize the general purpose foot for your machine gives good results.
Thank you for this. I just purchased this pattern and am so glad there is a tutorial that is so clear and easy to follow. Would love to see the larger size video.
With the center section being "open topped", reversing the card slots could allow anything in them to fall out if the wallet were to be turned upside down....just something to keep in mind.
Thanks again for the tutorial. Your verbal instructions are very clear! One question: how tightly do your CCs fit? By reversing the pleated panel, they could fall out if they are not in there really snugly, especially if you are using it as a dangling wristlet.
My Note 10+ would LOVE to see the larger wallet video! I love your adjustments and am going to get the pattern and supplies to follow along with this size for my Mother-in-law.
Definitely want to see how to do the larger size bag, as I do have a larger cell phone. So glad you did a walkthrough although I'm not sure about the different interfacing as I'm in the UK. I do enjoy your tutorials and I appreciate you braking things down, to help make things. XXX 💖💝💗
I use a edge foot on my industrial to help with straight stitching and it helps. lol Thank you for this video. I have had this pattern ever since I started making handbags and felt it was going to be hard but watching your video really helped and I am feeling more confident to attempt it.
Great video! I’ve made several of these wallets. Never thought to square off the snap flap - my rounded ones are alway a little wonky. After using one of my wallets for over a year, I found the snap back wore through the front of the snap flap. I have added another layer of fusible fleece to protect it. I also lengthened the lining piece and adjusted the folds to get more card slots. Doing that I also needed to lengthen the snap flap by half an inch. Swoon has a great pattern an it is easy to make personal changes.
I see the logic for having the card pockets going toward the bottom, though, I agree it isn't convenient. But it is more secure. Especially since there isn't a zipper top at that portion of the bag. It will keep the cards from falling out (since they do loosen up over time) and keep pickpockets from easily accessing your cards. But I love your adaptations.
I never though one can make a purge like that. So glad you did this, so colorful . I love it, as you I am learning g to make all these different things. I just finished your needle case today.......and it’s cute . I have so many things I want to make . I see everyone’s fabrics line up very nicely, I had a problem a I am making a bag or my daughter with front pocket and a rode bag she wants....but the linings don’t line up. I will just trim it and it will be fine .....still learning . But love all these bags. 🌹❤️🌹❤️
I am new to bag/wallet making and have been watching your videos. They are so helpful. I know this one is 2 years old but was wondering if you ever put something together for the larger wallet. Thanks.
You can attach the card slot pieces together before you stitch the center dividing seam... then it’s lines up perfectly. 😊 Oh and when sewing a corner, if you sew up one side, take one stitch diagonally at the corner, then across the top, again diagonally (one stitch) at the corner, and then down the other side your corners turn out perfect. It really works great. You did a great job the wallet! Wallets are not easy because like you said... everything has to be more precise to line up.
To help me sew straight lines I use this method that I learned from a fellow crafter: stick 8”ish strips of painters tape on one another until the stack is about 1/8 in. thick. Use this as a seam guide by sticking it along the lines of the guide plate on your machine in front of and behind the presser foot. Hopefully these instructions make sense!
Great tutorial! I mark a spot in my presser foot with a sharpie so I can see when I’m 1/8” from the edge of my fabric before pivoting. You can easily take off the marker with rubbing alcohol.
The good thing about wallets.... the pieces are small enough to put into design space, and have your Cricut cut them! This gives you very precise pieces 👍😁 Always a learning curve! I used too many layers of cork in a wallet, making it more difficult to work with.
Great tutorial, Jess! Thank you so much for your time. I too would like to know how to enlarge a pattern. Oh, and to make your top stitching straighter you could try using an edge foot, a #10 for Bernina, I think.
The 10% larger specs would be great! Also - I found a lovely ‘beginner’ wallet pattern but no great tutorial yet on RUclips. It’s the Boon Wallet from XOXO Lauren (it’s from Etsy but my internet doesn’t seem to want to cooperate at the moment and let me link it). Love all your videos!
Thank you for your tutorials, you explain and show very well! I would love a tutorial for the larger size of the Della wallet as I have a huge cell phone 🤓 If you have the time. Merci!
Cute! I am enjoying watching your videos. Have you thought about trying the Necessary Clutch Wallet? Kind of similar to what is here but the card slots and zip pockets are closed up into another piece with a flap. You might have fun with it.
I have a larger phone and would like to make the larger size wallet. I think it's really cute! Another video would be great! I went back and found your videos for grocery bags. Don't need that now.
I would be interested in the larger version ... with math. Question: can you use the RID material (name may not be correct) which prevents a scanner reading your credit card information? Last question: can a third zipper be installed to secure the inside credit cards, i.e., I like the way your turned the inside around for easier convenience.
I would love to see a tutorial on the larger size! Also, have you seen Swoon’s Dollie Mini Crossbody bag pattern? It’s free and super cute!!! Maybe a tutorial on that??
Dare I say that I think the reason for having the card openings towards the center MIGHT be so they cannot fall out when it's closed. Just a thought. Thanks, and I would like the largest size dimensions as well. Love your channel.
That was my thought too. I like the idea to switch directions on the cards, just add something that will prevent the cards from falling out. For example a piece of the clear material(plastic?) that would allow you to see what’s behind it. It could be like a page that folds in over the cards to the center. Or my preference would be another zipper to close the center section. Either the zipper would cover all 3 sides of the section or a zipper that detaches from itself with fabric that folds in on both ends, thus making it more of another pocket but it opens like a book still when unzipped.
@@lcoleman9656 Yes, a zipper was my first thought, somehow. I'm not a fan of clear vinyl, as others may see your cards inside, at a glance. You gave very good descriptions of you ideas. Perhaps that's the reason for the original design. Lol. It never hurts to consider alternatives.
Hi Jess! Great tutorial yet again! I have a small question about the wallet sizes in terms of the 2 big openings behind the card pockets. Could you tell me if a regular size passport would fit in that? Or would i need to make the wallet bigger size for that to fit there? Thanks
I would love to see you do a tutorial on the larger wallet...this is so cute but I have the bigger phone as well and want to do the bigger one...ty for the tutorial...it's was great

Hi Jess, to help with making straight seems you can use you ¼"foot with the guard, or your Bernina #10 or 5 feet. Can't think of the name of those right now. Basically feet with guards that will help you keep a straight line until you can do it without needing a specially foot. I also wanted to ask you have you tried interfacing Pellon 809 or 808 for these wallets? If not would you please try and see if you like that combo? I like 808/809.
