Yes but i recommend it if you want to be sad the ending it's sad and happy at the same time i cannot explain it but i really want season 2 but they say that they will not make it. 😔
Problem is there is no more materal to make new episodes if the writter would pick up and continue the story than maybe but sometimes is better to end something that is good than to drag it down.
I finished Astra Lost In Space like 3 years ago and I’m still wanting more I know this will never happen but I really do hope eventually season 2 happens because that anime Had the best plot twist too me
The manga story ended long ago, tbh astra is probably one of the only true “space” scifi manga that released in the last decade without it being mecha or just underutilizes
Unless they can find another plot with the same kind of space travel like the first season I don't see it working. Season 1 was a masterpiece I'd like to see them try on season 2 and see what they come up with although it would be hard
I love Astra Lost In Space. There should be another anime, about in space... like Aliens abducted humans. Killing. Action. Adventure. Romance. And harem. Something like that.
Was pleasantly surprised to see the outstanding but relatively little known Planetes listed, as well as classics like Star Blazers/Yamato, Galactic Heroes, Macross and Gundam. Hats off to the authors of this video - they know their stuff and didn’t just do the usual compilation of the most popular shows of the last 2 years or so!
I'm betting no one here has seen "Heroic Age" since it's even more niche then "Legend of the Galactic Heros." but if you like that show, you'll probably also like "Heroic Age". Also would like to add "Vandread" to the list as it has some pretty good space battles in it. and also the first episode of "Gargantia"
@@sasheimae.9755 start with the 2018 remake and then switch to the original when you run out of episodes. If you like it then you'd probably also like babylon 5 it's the only other show I've seen that's similar to "legend of the galactic heroes".
Heroic Age is pretty good. The beginning episodes are terrific. Very solid. But the show wanders around for the middle of the series as it gathers up all the main characters. But it gets going again after that and the ending is a nice payoff that makes sense. It is rewarding for someone who stuck with it through the whole series.
Finally a list that is not all children and mecha. Apart from the obvious, deserving winner and some other gems, Planetes is great and Space Brothers is incredibly underrated and never featured in this kind of lists. Good to see someone finally recognise its value.
Thank you for remembering Gunbuster! It's old and only 6 episodes long, but it tells a story bigger than all of Star Wars (equal to E. E. "Doc" Smith's classic "Lensman" series). It's also the only sci-fi story aside from Joe Haldeman's "The Forever War" and the movie "Interstellar" to get the concept of time dilation right. Don't let the humor of the first episode fool you - Gunbuster is a tragedy on an epic scale. Highly recommended!
Good list, but I prefer LOGH as #1 and Cowboy Bebop as #2. Don't get me wrong, Cowboy Bebop is good, but LOGH is more space opera than Cowboy Bebop can ever be.
Can someone please help me figure out a movie? It's animated. Takes place in space and on planet/planets. Main character is Male. He wields a magic sword. Think the sword is blue/greenish. The enemies are like zombie cyborgs or something. I know not much to go on but I've been trying to figure this out for really damn long and AI isn't helping.
Kinghts of sidonia Space Dandy Astra lost in spance Planetes Macross series Space Brothers Gundam Series Star Blazers 2199 Legend of the galactic heroes Crest of the stars Heroic age Gunbuster Cowboy bebop
Seriously Star blazers? It's Space Battleship Yamato!! Thank goodness you had some sense to refer to Macross by its proper name and not invoke the blasphemous R word. Why not do the same with Yamato?
1# cowboy bebop waching it but sins i had dstv in the past and saw shows like ncis( moved over to ,,my family a stremer channel with extra add ons) i feel this show is all most as bad ( sick of cop shows) this why i am going throw the top 10 top 20 Space Anime Series
Can somebody help me? When I was a kid, I would watch the same space anime movie again and again. My mom hated the theme song. 😄 This was in the 90s. There was a main guy who had a some kind of a stick/pole as a weapon. 😄 Kinda like Darth Maul, but without the lightsaber thing. He would also have a glider, kinda like Green Goblin from Spiderman. I remember a scene from the beginning when the crew is on their spaceship and the fat guy of the crew is hungry and he just pushes some buttons with food pictures and hamburgers would come out. 😄 They also fight something..
Where is Wings of Oneamise? Literally a story about the first astronaut on another world. A terrific what-if about what that would be like for the people of that world. The first rocket launch sequence and the huge battle leading up to it is one of the greatest few minutes of any anime ever. Anybody who is a fan of space stories or NASA or ever looked up at the moon will understand the emotions, the hopes and dreams embodied in the effort to launch that astronaut despite everything trying to stop it.
legends of the galactic heroes is ABSOLUTELY S tier but its a rough watch. the art and animations will be a huge turn off for the modern anime enjoyer. But, you really wont find an anime of this scale and quality anywhere else. its truly a groundbreaking anime if you can get into it
Astra Lost In Space is 100% recommended
Yes but i recommend it if you want to be sad the ending it's sad and happy at the same time i cannot explain it but i really want season 2 but they say that they will not make it. 😔

1. Astra Lost In Space 2019
Astro lost in space is a masterpiece 😫
I love Astra Lost In Space. There should be another anime, about in space... like Aliens abducted humans. Killing. Action. Adventure. Romance. And harem. Something like that.
@@KyloRen4238 harem is ok as long as it's not overdone. Sometimes it's really too obvious
Yes, harem. Don't patronize me. It doesn't have it. It's not overdone. It's serious, and it's not about overdone. It's about life.
@@reezlaw yeah, it's only serious, because I want my life to be perfect.
Yea
Knights of Sidonia is so beautifully made too, a must watch
I'm glad to see Macross and Legend of the Galactic Heroes in the list. Great series.

I’ve seen Heroic Age - unique story concept and a FANTASTIC soundtrack! (I was very glad to have been able to hunt it down years ago!)
Legend of the Galactic Heroes and Cowboy Bebop are also my favorite
Your honorable mentions are actually some of my all time favorites.
Good to see the Yamato is well represented. An incredible remake.
Love that...
I want more space adventure anime. With the rise of space x and other real world space technology I think it’d be relatable and straight up awesome.

Anyone know he anime where the Mc eats rice with body salt??? It was in a cockpit and he got ĺost and remembered his mother
for me the first will be Yamato 2199 that series changed my life
I find your lack of Outlaw Star disturbing, but otherwise enjoy the list. Cool recommendations.
Honestly I was half expecting Galaxy Railways or irresponsible Captain Taylor. Excited to see new space animes
I love Astra lost in space

Heroic Age is very good. Space Dandy is a timeless classic in comedy sci fi.

It’s named Star Blazers in America. At least the original one was.
Astra lost in space 🔥👍👍
Knights of Sidonia gave me a strong Battlestar Galactica vibe.

It is mentionworthy that Planetes is hard science fiction, which is rare, not only in the world of Anime.
As a space nerd who loves space animes/live acting movies/shows I can confirm.

Because only a very small part takes place in space. Space is the objective, not the setting.
"Astra lost in space" highly recommended!!
For silly, retro space anime, it is hard to beat 1993's "The Irresponsible Captain Tylor". Plot: An idiot with incredibly good luck saves humanity.
Which one is most popular among this 10 I'll watch
Better than watch mojo lists
Space Brothers. 💯🔥
Love the Destiny background music

They didn't mention Macross Delta😢😢😢
Astra in Space and Macross Delta are literally my favourite space animes
Macross, like Gundam, got franchise wide mentions. Which makes Star Blazers 2199 bit weird to mention only one portion of it's franchise history.
Space anime but no Starship Operators? Heresy.
No.6 is what i was searching for
Astra
how can you call it star blazers? It's called scpace battleship Yamato!!!
Where Gurren Lagann
Well, I didn't see heroic age, but that is also a 100 percent
Gundam was created by Yoshiyuki Tomino, not Hajime Yatate.
Knights of sidionia best of all
Personally Outlaw star beats all of theses
No outlaw star? Wtf
Outlaw star is mid
Space comedy anime from 2000 to 2009.
Anime is usually better written sci fi only there are a lot of titles you did not mention.
Knights of Sid was epic. Until they released the worse anime movie I've ever seen conclude what should've been one of the best space anime ever.
It's always just war and destruction.
You should add Moonlight Mile
macross should be relabled its call robotech
None of the Tenchi Muyo got on here.... Tenchi War on geminar and Tenchi gxp were way better than a few
I disagree with this list. It’s missing a one anime
You forgot edens zero most best anime in space
