Squash has had its epoch making players. Hashim Khan, Jonah Barrington and Geoff Hunt marked the style of relentless rallies and strength sapping technique. Then came Jahangir and Jansher Khan who introduced a mix of stamina, reach and classy nicks from the front court. The modern era belongs to Ramy Ashour, whose playing style takes in the gist of previous greats and adds bits of true genius of his own. No one in squash history has had such an impressive repertoire of winners. On court, his racket worked like a magic wand, casting spells on the ball to send it to nicks from all corners of the court. Ramy was a true pleasure to watch and his absence would be greatly felt.
Azam Khan was a great player and so were Qamar, Rod Martin, Ditmar, Mohib and Roshan. It is an I justice not to name all the greats as would require too much space and reading it would become a bore.
For me the most gifted, exciting player to have graced a squash court. Sad to see his career ending but full of joy at having been able to watch his squash.
Watching Ramy play is better than watching the original "The Matrix". The guy is just so incredible it feels like time has slowed down and something unbelievable awe inspiring will soon happen... He's is clearly the best squash player in the history of the game! Actually he transcends sports to the point where other people in other sports, like Federer, only begin to touch the style he brought. It's best just to say Ramy is like watching some gifted superhero in slow motion doing something unbelievably, surprisingly, awesome.
This is a great tribute but that's what everyone says about the top players in their favourite sport, to the point that it becomes meaningless. A tennis fan would argue Federer transcends sport and has had a greater impact than Ashour on the world in general. All I'm saying is it's all relative to your own biases, and you don't need to drag other players or sports down to build Ashour up.
Ramy's career being cruelly shortened by injury still feels like a bad dream that we might all wake up from someday... peace to the greatest player ever.
I had the privilege of watching and witnessing most of the squash greats from Jahangir to Jansher Khan all the way to the mighty Egyptian Pharaoh Ramy Ashour and for me without a shadow of doubt Ramy Ashour is Greatest squash player to ever grace the squash courts he is Messi of Squash Goat..
Ramy will always be my favorite player of all time. His raw talent, charisma, and electrifying rallies will be sorely missed. He had such an unorthodox style that was so entertaining and easy to watch. I'll always remember him along with the rest of the golden generation dominating the tour and playing incredible squash. Hope he stays involved in the squash community... looking forward to seeing what he does next in his career!
you inspired me , you show the real beauty of squash , you express your self like nobody in history of squash and most important you show us that to be greatest you dont have to win all the tittle .Love u ramy
So sad to see such an amazing talent retire, absolute outstanding player, and I think the best the world is ever gonna see. On his day he would tear anyone apart.
Congrats to Ramy on his retirement! Thank you for bringing the modern attacking style to the game and making it that much more exciting to watch! A true legend that changed the game.
best compilation PSA SQUASHTV has ever posted so far..... will miss the artist for sure , and had hopes after his dominant win last year at Grasshopper Open.... and hope he continues to contribute towards making this sport get to the level of Tennis it deserves !
You will be missed champ. Gaultier rally and Qatar open 2014 final the highlight of his career and a reason for many to start squash ❤️ Most skillful & decorated player of this era after the great Jahangir Khan.
Absolute legend. I remember the first time I ever saw him play live during the World Junior Champs in 2006. He didn't let a single ball hit the back wall, he literally moved forward for the volley every shot. Fair to say the game didn't last very long! Bonus....the final was so intense. The final game he won due to his opponent losing to a conduct game.
Ramy sacrificed so much for his fans and the sport , to the extend where it made permanent damages to his body. We are thankful for that and mad respect for him😭
Gaultier has always been my favourite player, but without question, Ashour is the best. I have never seen anybody do the things he can do with a squash racquet.
You can talk all day about the legendary players of this great game in their own era but what you can say for sure is that if you put all of them at their best on the court together, Ramy would beat every single one of them. Nobody has ever played at a higher level...yet.

you forget about Azim Khan, Hashims brother

Arguably with Powers as the bridge between Khan and Ashour era?
The Gaultier rally from the JP Morgan in NYC is one of the best EVER!
Great tribute and even this this doesn’t do his talent justice. Will be missed ❤️
It’s an impossible task to try and do justice to such a legend, but I’m glad you think we came close at least! 🙌
We will miss you, Ramy Ashour
For me the most gifted, exciting player to have graced a squash court. Sad to see his career ending but full of joy at having been able to watch his squash.
Agreed, sad to see him go but thankful for all the moments of magic we can watch back again and again!

Khans: are we jokes to you?
I believe it's an absolute hard decision to you. You're a legend. You're the most talented and best squash player in my heart forever.
Best and most classiest player of all-times for me.

Simply the best. I’ll miss his squash. Long live the King!
My favorite squash player. Glad I was part of his journey and had a chance to watch him play. Wish you all the best in whatever you decide to do next!
Watching Ramy fills me with joy, awe and inspiration and for this, I thank you.
A shame ... an elegant and unique style ... will be greatly missed

No one else can do what he does. Unique player.
Sad to see the G.O.A.T's career end due to an injury. That aside, Ramy's reactions were always heart-warming. We will miss you!
sheer class and artistry from an immense talent. he will be greatly missed.
Most exciting player to watch by far. Has that bit of extra special sauce that no one else brings to the table. Will be missed for sure. Good luck!

Most talented squash player ever. Would have held #1 for a long time if it weren't for his injuries

I’ll miss him soooo much definitely the best
Great compilation... the best ive seen from SquashTv in a while! Epic work
The greatest squash player of all time
He had it all squashwise but I wonder if his overwhelming appeal was his ability to project both his enjoyment and his sheer niceness.

Gaultier has always been my favourite player, but without question, Ashour is the best. I have never seen anybody do the things he can do with a squash racquet.

EL Shorbagy -- Ashour rallies were the best of the best IMO
Ramy is the best ever
Will miss u artist
What a champ
youl be missed brudda
Why is squash not an Olympic game? Cannot be televised they say? I’ve just watched it!!!
Ashour shorbagy world championship was probably the best match that's ever been played in squash.
He was the enjoyment of squash.
What a pitty that i could n't see his performance closely
miss him in the court 😞🤍
pure magic and among the GOAT . Would you have added 4-5 more World Championship or British Opens if injuries had not been so cruel.
Are you even allowed to do that?! Remarkable play!!
Still heartbreaking
GOAT.
sad to see him go... he had a good run.
GOAT !
You really miss him from the tournaments these days.
What is the background sound track?? It is really cool 😎
Como diría Ali... El más grande.
There's Messi in football
We got Ramy Ashour in Squash
What a talent
You can talk all day about the legendary players of this great game in their own era but what you can say for sure is that if you put all of them at their best on the court together, Ramy would beat every single one of them. Nobody has ever played at a higher level...yet.
do you have a time travel machine to prove it?
GOAT
Emerson Chan
Phenomenal player. But not the GOAT.
Never came close to the talent and fitness of Jansher Khan. Plus his competition was less fierce. Jonathan Power was also better.
Noooooooo 😢😢😢
When the cat is away, the mice will play...please come back Sir Ramy, the game needs you.
BEST EVER BY MILES, NO ONE REALLY TESTED THE GUY.
Ушла эпоха волшебства
2:22 ❤❤❤❤❤❤
