I've been flying quadcoptors/drones for aerial cinema shots for many years, and my favorite, so far, is the Phantom 3 Professional! It has a ton of awesome features, but here are my top 5!
#1, the 4K camera. Captures RAW still photos, manual controls for exposure, ISO, etc. 4K video or 1080p at 60fps.
#2, Enhanced internal specs. Crazy fast GPS lock, holds tight in high winds. The 3-axis gimbal does a fantastic job of stabilizing the camera.
#3, DJI Lightbridge technology. Full HD video (FPV) downlink to your phone or tablet.
#4, Battery life. Can fly for approx 20-24 minutes on a single battery. Crazy fast, over 30 MPH! Crazy far, can fly over 3 miles away and still receive video feed.
#5, All-in-one, ready to fly (RTF), aerial photo and video system. Very portable, quick and easy to setup.

Its true. The phantom 3 pro is amazing. If you want to, you can check out some of my latest uploads. Its easier to fly smooth with the p3 than the p2 for sure. And the quality is pretty good.

If I ever got my hands on something like this I'd definitely do it for a hobby and to capture some nice aerial shots, so I'm on the fence for that question. It mainly depends because for me, I'd probably use it mainly for personal use and films. However let's say I had a youtube channel and I was someone like Jesse from BFvsGF, I'd definitely want to capture some nice aerial shots for the vlog.

I have been looking into this for a while, I have partnered up with a local wedding venue who have said they will pay me 300 GBP for 3 minutes of footage, is would you recommend the Phantom 3 Pro for wedding clips and commercial use? I know you may have explained in the video but I would love a more personal point of view because it is a big buy for me.
Hi Good stuff. I have the phantom 3 4K. The controller has only one port mini or micro. I bought a new controller module with 4 pots min hdmi usb mini and another port. I wanted to use this drone with the fat shark googles. When I got the new controller module the ribbon on my original module was a very small ribbon but in the new module it was a wide larger ribbon.
I returned the module. Do you know what's going and why I can seem to adapt a new control module to my existing controller? Thanks

I'm looking for my mid sized consumer drone, for personal photography/videography And I have had my eye on the DJI since the Phantom 2 came out. I love the inspire, but I don't really want something that will require 2 people to get good shots. I really like what the 3 pro can do, but now I see the added features of the upcoming Phantom 4. Furthermore I have also started looking into the YUNEEC Typhoon H that is coming out. Both are available for Pre-order, and are close (somewhat) in price and features. What are your thoughts on these two incoming models, and how they compare to the currently available Phantoms? I have very little experience with a few nano drones and Helicopters, some mid sized airplanes and very little FPV. So far though, Especially outdoors, I love it! it takes some getting used to at first, but wow is it addictive!!! Maybe I will want to get a nice 250 sized quad for FPV!!
+TomVaillencourt - I agree with you, the inspire is overkill for most people. I actually ordered the Phantom 4, coming soon, and I'll be posting an in-depth review on all its new features, and if it's worth going for over the P3. The Typhoon H looks cool too, though pushing the price range a bit. Hopefully I'll get my hands on one to review and compare to the others. (Lots more drone/FPV videos coming to the channel soon.)
+Ben Schmanke (authentech) I ended up ordering a Phantom 4 also. From what Ive seen the popular opinions out there seem to be that most people looking for their first DJI drone would do well with the 4 unless they want to save some money. Then the 3 Pro is the clear choice. Most people who currently own a 3 pro believe there isn't enough on the 4 to warrant a step up. Most are saying that if they badly crash their 3 pros they may replace it with a 4, but as long as their 3pro still works well, they believe its good enough to hang on to.
You know what makes me laugh is people commenting on who's first haha😂 I'm guessing they don't care about the drone haha

+Blake Bauer - It's mostly camera specs. Determine what your budgeted price is, and go from there. The benefit of the cheaper models = if/when you crash while learning it's less money. Benefit of the Pro 4K model, is the amazing camera image.
Ended up buying the advanced. I wanted lightbridge but decided I dont need 4k yet. The 2.7k is still amazing and the fhd @ 50fps is nice to have. Veryyyyy happy. thanks for the input.
I really want to know if it can do Follow Me without holding the bulky controller. I don't want it to film a person with a controller. It would be great if they had a small 3rd party gps transmitter to follow. Then I can have it follow my kids surfing but also turn it off and bring it back to me. See what I mean?

My recommendation to the people that haven't even touched a drone yet is to get those $200-$400 drones therfore if you crash it (you most likely will) you won't loose a ton of money.
I have a P2 and have thrown way too much money into that which brings me to the idea, you should do a giveaway!

You're probably right! :) One way this beats the Inspire though, more portable, lighter, smaller footprint ;)
I still don't get why it is over twice the price of the Standard. Really all it has is a better camera and longer range.
Firstly $800 is not twice $550. You are paying about $150-250 more for the range increase and only $100 more for the 4K upgrade. The Advanced should be $700 not the current $750. The 4K (non-Pro version) is only $100 more then the standard and probably the best deal right now.
