absolutely enlightening
You know, most people wish they could see Led Zeppelin preform. Or The Beatles. Or Anyone else. But what I would give to have been there for this concert is unparalleled. Anneke is the only singer I have ever seen where you can’t help but fall in love with her in every performance. She’s just pure talent. And pure soul. I’ve never seen someone more comfortable being on stage. Those smiles. Oh those smiles.
What a perfect description of our Goddess Angel Anneke!
Prediction for another 2 years from know and hopefully sooner because this pandemic will play the factor of this being 2 years or sooner than later is that once Anneke finishes her solo music tour from her latest music is that her and the Gathering will reunite to not only play their older material but to write new music together. 2023 "The return" of Anneke with the Gathering.

(Most Bands have to play the same stuff over and over again and again...2-4 times a week...for years...eventho often more than half the group doesn´t like half or more than the half of the whole Set they gotta play once again (anymore)...

I'm watching this recording for the 30 + time and I am still in awe. Someone perfectly described The Gathering's artistic identity. "The Gathering with Anneke produced 6+ highly acclaimed albums that are all worthy of listening in their entirety imo. Their landmark first album together 'Mandylion' (1995) and the ones following, inspired singers like Floor en and Simone Simons, and Anneke collaborated among others with Anathema, Devin Townsend, Within Temptation, Evanescence and John Wetton (Uriah Heep, UK, King Crimson, Asia). The Gathering with Anneke never abided to the commercial mores of what and where to play and how to dress, which may have made them kinda undisclosed to many and still relatively underappreciated. This is now gradually changing fortunately."

For me, this is The Gathering, i will always love them , The Gathering without Anneke is still strange, and seeing Anneke without the boys, is just not right. But i am glad they both still make music.

It's disturbing how fucking good this is. I bought this album because The May Song was on a compilation and I never turned back. Her vocal melody in this song is next-level genius.

Aside from the very obvious praise they deserve a 100 fold, the fact that ALL members got together for this concert, putting aside their current lives, petty disputes and egos is something truly phenomenal, and it makes me love and appreciate them as artists as well as individuals even more.
The whole band sounds great. The bass player here in particular did some great work. Very deep melodic groove.

Last year I went to her 25th anniversary as an artist in the Effenaar. She still rocks :_)
Anneke is great at no matter what she does and I truly believe that she and the Gathering will get back together in the not too distant future of say less than 5 years to not only perform their older material but to write new music together.

Ps. People have argued about what kind of music this is. What kind of Metal is it? Doom. Alteranative rock, etc. I will add my 2 cents. I have studied the lyrics and music. This during the Anneke years was Empathic Metal. But why must we label music. It is van Giersbergen and company, some of the greatest musicians that ever walked the Planet, (whether ot nor it needs measuring, the Planet that is.)

How on earth were multi video captures from several contributors linked so brilliantly with the official audio?!! It's absolutely amazing. The amount of editing that went into this must be phenomenal. How was it started. Did someone initiate a call out for video material after the concert or was it planned beforehand. I've not come across anything like it on RUclips before. I actually got into The Gathering a few years back as a result of this concert. I'd never heard of them until youtube decided to put it into my feed. I was hooked forever after watching Saturnine, the first track.
