Why so surprised? Everyone in this band had a significant career . Besides Anneke , Frank(synth) had very good side projects. Silje has very good background as well
"Always" is a truly masterpiece. It's so easy and delightful listening this whole album. I still can't believe they were so young when they recorded it.

30 years...OMG, I was a first-year high school student, and this music was that I'd been searching for years in that time. Slow, melodious and brutal growling. This was my holy trinity I was looking for, and this song and album gave me the satisfaction at last! And it's a masterpiece ever since!
I remember in Ireland, I was listening to Death Metal from Sweden and Flordia in 1992 when this album was released, at first I didn't know what to think of I because it was so different from Morbid Angel, Obituary, Dismember, Entombed etc,. But it quickly became more favourite album, I'm now 45 years old and "Always" is the album that stirs so many emotions and memories of my teenage years, this album is the last thing I want to hear before I die..
By the way you live in a beautiful country and I was so inspired by it. I am an single selfraising mom and I named my daughter Erin. Well we live in Switzerland, nobody can pronounce it in Gealic.

Did an interview with them just after Always came out. Poor guy was really down as he was getting probs with his voice and was planning to leave The Gathering. One very funny part was when he told me about the fun they had when they were in Israel for Always and Always came out. Not their album Always, but the sanitary napkins.

This song was always the best live. The recording didn't capture the energy and atmosphere so good in my opinion. They should maybe re-record this once and get the female vocals back like the Marike Groot 'Always' album had. I thought it really set them apart from other bands. The album didn't really capture it but live their music is awesome.

It's funny watching the band play this awesome song live when they (Bart excluded) now look like a bunch of alternative pop pansies. I liked some of the albums with Anneke, especially the awesome Mandylion, but they went too much in that alt rock direction for my tastes
