Perhaps it's better they finished their art because sometimes when bands continue making music they fall in a kind of rock formula whitout sense I mean they lose the Magic like early TOT.

@@cristinaabarca6897 I did. And have you listened to voices like Mona Undheim Skottene from Myriads? That's what a true mermaid sounds like, the only ones who mastered harp into metal perfectly. Beyond that, only Liv, at least for me.
Raymond, the true voice of a goblin
I discovered this band when Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish said in an interview that they were his youth heroes and a huge inspiration. I checked them out and became instantly obsessed. Liv Kristine and Tarja Turunen are mesmerizing.
I discovered this band while as an older student in a Caribbean university a young medical student who had an artistic soul mentioned it to me as a Gothic inspiration to him. I adored this band from the beginning.
I can't imagine another non-German or Austrian band singing in sound German, like her, and still not sounding like any sort of a neo-Nazi band. Here, the German language is made to sound like a most romantic language.

Aegis, really? I find it significantly weaker than Velvet Darkness They Fear, which for a long time was by far my favourite metal album.

Only Liv Kristine and Tarja Turunen although are both completely different can give me the same inpact when they are on stage - irreplaceable. Sadly, both of them didn’t have much luck with their bands. Still inspired me so much in my life. Thanks, goddesses

This genre of music is so very rich and there are so many brilliant bands. And so many extraordinary female singers (how is that possible). Liv is astonishingly beautiful - vocally and physically. I experienced the psychedelic 60s, the Punk / Post Punk era, metal and the whole dance / rave scene of the late 70s/90s but I'm only just catching up as an old man, with music like this and makes me feel energised but a bit sad that it passed me by at the time and a lot of the bands I have grown to love through You Tube ceased to exist as I've seen them before I even knew they were there. I'll be saying the same (hopefully) in 20 years about kids who are still in primary school just now and bless them for that, but I hate being... - sorry, I've struggled to find a word but not sure I can put it into words. Oh well X

@@taurusguy9305 Liv Kristine is not "the original "Goth babe", no. Honestly, i am not sure who would be.. Sarah Marrion maybe, providing female vocals on Paradise Lost's "Gothic" and "Shades of God" albums. She is certainly the "first" anyway, in the genre defined as "Gothic metal".
"Theatre of Tragedy" are credited as the developers of the "beauty and the beast" vocal style heard here. Other bands had done it before them, but as a "one off". ToT was the first band to develop and incorporate it for "regular usage".

Aegis by Theatre of Tragedy is in my opinion one of the greatest gothic CDs/Albums of all time! This live performance of Cassandra is still spell-binding to me even to this day! Brilliant!

I miss Theatre of Tragedy. I even enjoyed their very last studio album. I think they did very well with both front women and I am so glad at the end they went back to their roots. Awesome band.

Yeah, quality band is about right. Top quality that is. Velvet Darkness was my very first album at age 14. Theatre remains one of my absolute favorites, almost 23 years later.

En su momento lo fue sus tres primeros albumnes estaban en otro nivel y creo en esa época la música tenía otro sabor
Bueno The Sins of day Beloved siempre se mantuvo en una línea mientras que Theatre Of Tragedy despues del Álbum ARose for dead cambio incluso en este álbum mostró lo que se venía con los 2 temas remix que hizo, pero sus primeros albumnes uffff el tema Cheerful Dirge por ejemplo que aún recuerdo las veces y en esa época el copyright me lo elimino jajaja
En fin sería bueno escucharás más de la banda antes de compararla yo diría que las bandas de esas décadas tuvieron banda momento bueno por algo aún las seguimos escuchando saludos

I still remember when Tanz der Schatten was released, back in the 90s. Still remember listening to this song in a now long forgotten record store and being absolutely stunned. Those were the days, dark, brooding and we thought they`d never end
